I honestly feel like if you all want to do this there should be one unified thread which links to all the individual threads. At least that way if this project takes off we have a single reference point.
I am all for giving my biased opinion on a random legendary-as-commander every now and then, given that I've at least considered a decent chunk of them as leader at one point or another

Agreed. I think each commander should get its own thread but a single reference would be great.
So what is a good first step to get this started?

Cryo, Would it be better, to say, have a sub-forum with a thread that serves as a ToC/index. I have to wonder if we all start pushing these threads out, if it will flood/dilute the rest of the board. I am totally willing to pull the trigger on Azami, Lady of Scrolls, once the TOC is made, but it would be nice if there was some degree of standardization (seems we haven't all agreed yet).
I was also intrigued by the notion of "traits" but disgree that more is better from a factor analysis standpoint. For example, variables like "flexibility" and "resilience" likely load on to "power". Maybe we can just leave it to the author's discretion, and then edit, once we have something in place?

We really try to limit the number of subforums, and most likely if we created a subforum for what you all are proposing, people would get confused and post their normal deck lists in it.
If you want to do separate threads discussing each general, I would recommend the decklist forum, and you can have one central thread here in the main forum to catalog it.

Wouldn't it be kind of weird to post a thread without a decklist in the decklist forum?

I was under the impression you were going to be making mini-primer threads, which I assumed would include deck lists. If you're just going to talk about the generals and discuss the generalities of them, why not just contain it all to one thread like I do with the RCotD? As I said, Curse has fixed the bug with in-thread links not being broken when you change the thread title, so if you create a link to the beginning of each discussion in the OP, anyone can jump right to were that discussion was. At least, that's what I was thinking about doing when I had the idea for a Random General of the Week. The only reason I didn't do it was because I thought it would be neat to also do a sample decklist and I didn't really want to spend that much time on it.
This seems like a good idea. Single thread is not amazingly browsable but better than nothing and nice to have all in one place. Maybe update the OP with links to the starting point of each general as they're completed?

I think the issue of the thread not being very browseable is a legitimate concern. Even if you can put an index/ToC in the OP, and do a RCotD style thread, the linked conversation will be limited to that day/week, and any further discussion would be disjointed (separated by posts discussing subsequent generals). Thus, I think a thread per general would likely make more sense.
I apologize for the lack of responses lately btw I've been quite busy the last few days.

Agreed. I know it's not really our decision, but these threads, like the "random card of the day", should likely be in the EDH main forum.
