Hi.
I'm making a Zombie Tribal getting tired of playing only control so I want to make something in aggro.
The deck is pretty straightforward, with spells and enchantments that make loads of zombies + lords and a lot of removal.
But the problem is what general i should choose. I have three choices. All three of them is going in the deck, but I have no idea wich one is the best as a general.
Mikaeus, the Unhallowed.
This guy is pretty bonkers, It's first ability isn't that relevant altrough it could be powerful. But it's second ability is very relavant as it makes my dudes hard to kill, also he is basically a lord as a general.
Sidsi, Undead Vizier.
Good body and relatve cheap cost, the ability is great but i fear that she would get killed of pretty easy and becoming hard to get out again, even with lots of control and reanimate.
Korlash, Heir to Blackblade
This guy is the most aggresive one, but he is more just a creature than a general. Little to build around except land searching.
I like all of them, but I have no idea wicht one to choose.
Or should i jut put all of them in the deck and go B/U?
Also sorry for bad grammar, not my first language.
in case you hadn't considered, grimgrin, corpse-born exists. having blue gives you access to a lotta fun zombies and zombie-aids, like rooftop storm (which incidentally allows you to cast them free from the command zone too, i think!)
if not, i'd probably try to get you to go korlash, just 'cuz hes not nearly as commonly played as the other 2. would be nice to give him a day out in the sun! he'd also lend himself to being a voltron if your zombie-mass-attacks don't come along as planned.
korlash seems boring, but hes probably a lot more powerful than you or I give him credit for. if you have a urborg, tomb of yawgmoth and run lots of swamps, he gets bigger as the game goes, AND he regenerates (its a very underused ability). i only brought up grimgrin 'cuz hes very popular and kinda builds himself (literally and metaphorically!)
think about it like this:
you attack all your guys into an opponent with only a few blockers. he'd probably need to block korlash (losing his blocker), and letting Bone Dancer, Liliana's Reaver or whatever other saboteur abilities you might find in monoblack.
if building korlash, you could add in things like terrain generator, walking atlas, thawing glaciers, and use them like 'combat tricks'. i know i'd definitely fall for it at least once.
yea.. i live in sweden, but once in a while its nice to go do norwegian hikes/skiing. have a few friends who live in trondheim as well (but they don't play magic). i was actually there in march!
I see It's a relative big magic playerbase in trondheim, with around 2-300 active players.
So if you want to play magic there it's pretty easy to find someone to play with
I'm a fan of standard fantasy settings and more "realistic" fantasy, so I want to make a Zombie Tribal deck based around Innistrad. But if it wasn't for that thrax would be a really cool zomvie general.
Ghoulcaller Gisa is the commander of my deck, and I change it around every so often. Sometimes it is mono black goodstuff/control, other times it is zombie tribal.
She is a great commander. Simply having consistent access to her is what it is all about. She provides an advantage not everyone understand at first glance and might be the best non-combo sacrifice outlet ever printed. I constantly get the impression that my opponents over look her and focus on my more obvious threats.
Korlash is a boring commander. He doesn't do anything. He is just a beater, and if I wanted to win with commander damage, there are better options out there. He is nice in the deck though for the same reasons. Not only does he provide a big body threat to the table, but if they find a way to deal with him (think Path to Exile), then I can simply sacrifice him in response to Gisa and make a sizable army of zombie tokens.
Something I recommend in every post talking about zombie tribal and/or Gisa, is the card Nim Deathmantle. This card is consistently undervalued and underrated. Just by existing, it make your stuff difficult to deal with, as they have to play around the deathmantle. When combined with Gisa, I get tons of millage out of this card. It is like a non-combo version of Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, yet doesn't scream "deal with me!" in the same way Mikey does. It has indirectly won me so many games from the long term card advantage and interactions it creates.

I 100% vote Gisa as the commander. I have ~50 of one zombie token and occasionally run out while playing. I run a heavy innestrad theme as well including things like Bloodline Keeper and Skirsdag High Priest, which aren't zombies, but follow the token theme. The latter at least turns into 5 zombies, and I also run Ascendant Evincar, Drana, and Blood Artist, so I guess there's a psuedo vampire theme? Not really.
If you're looking for random utility after lots of removal or board clears then Geth. If anything else he can be a great mana dump if you're land flooded late game.
I used Nekusar, the Mindrazer for a while. The on-hand card draw was nice, but in terms of tribal, red brought almost nothing to the table. I cut red and now use Grimgrin....he can go wide with lots of tokens and lords or he can go big with gravecrawler/rooftop storm combo. Grimgrin likes Sword of Vengeance. Mine is nearly mono black, but blue brings a few good zombies...Diregraf Captain, Lich Lord of Unx, Undead Alchemist, Havengul Lich and Fatestitcher. The only non-undead related card (other than artifacts) that I run is Cyclonic Rift. It's a necessary evil to do so because black has trouble with non-creature permanents.

Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
Korlash seems fun indeed, but he is really bland if you understand what i mean.
Current Decks
GTitania midrange
RGThromok tokens/goodstuff | UB Grimgrin zombie tribal
GW Sigarda enchantress | R Godo voltron
U Braids aggro | WR Kalemne punisher
RU Mizzix storm | BUG Mimeoplasm competitive reanimator | UG Ezuri infect
Well maybe i should try out grimgrin then?

Also Gisa is in the deck, I just don't know if she's good enough as a general.
since you'd be doing quite well mana-wise, you could probably sacc korlash to her, put something like 15 zombies into play, then replay korlash.
i think any general is good enough to be a general, so long as the deck synergises with it.
(by the way, do you play in a shop in trondheim? ive never seen one)
Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
Yeah I play in a shop called Outland Trondheim, it's in a basement in a small mall so not easy to spot.
Have you been in trondheim ?
Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
So if you want to play magic there it's pretty easy to find someone to play with
back to your zombie deck by the way, hatred can be quite good

Steel Sabotage'ng Orbs of Mellowness since 2011.
Gisa is definitely the best in terms of Innistrad flavor.
However, for specifically aggro zombies I'd do Sedris, the Traitor King.
UTeferi, Temporal ArchmageU's prison: blue is the new orange is the new black.
Mizzix Of The Izmagnus : wheels on fire... rolling down the road...
BSidisi, Undead VizierB: Bis zum Erbrechen
GTitiania, Protector Of ArgothG: Protecting Argoth, by blowing it up!
GYisan, The Wanderer BardG: Gradus Ad Elfball.
Duel EDH: Yisan & Titania.
In Progress: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV duel; Grenzo, Dungeon Warden Doomsday.
