With tuck being gone now what are your opinions of theft, arrests, torpor orb, and pithing needle effects? How do you feel about using them and or seeing them used specifically in light of the changes to tuck?

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
What's your current stance on Prophet of Kruphix, given the massive amount of debate we had around it lately?

In regards to your last article about the "Spirit of EDH", you mentioned that instead of complaining, players should discussa what is acceptable and the power level of decks. The reason I am bringing this up is that casuals should also understand when you step in a tournament. You should expect some brutal competition, and not groan about being combo'd out.
Point is the street goes both ways. If I'm in an environment of "Hey, Let's play edh!" I am looking for a good time, but when I pay to play for prizes I am bringing my "A" game.
TL;DR: Don't complain when you play for prizes. Test the water at the kitchen table, you don't need to be guns-a-blaze
PS: I agree with the tuck changes, though Thrun and Derevi get a big boost. Do you really feel fog effects are underplayed?
They have stated a few times this will 'never' happen, so I will expand - why are you so opposed to Planeswalkers as an addition to legal commanders? To my knowledge there has never been an explanation, just a refusal for consideration.

I don't think that we've ever said never. It seems pretty unlikely, but we don't tend to be that absolute.
The main impediment to doing it is that there's no compelling reason to do it.
Before I ask my question, let me provide a little back story. When I first got into EDH, Azusa was my general and I fell in love with the format. The deck was the definition of splashy plays, casting Tooth and Nail, eldrazi, swinging with a million tokens, etc. Flash forward to now, I feel like I've evolved since. First, I changed generals to a less powerful one. Then, I cut powerhouse staples like Tooth and Nail, Craterhoof Behemoth, Genesis Wave, etc. because I felt they were just not fun for me and my opponent. Is this what you expect from the community as a whole? Is this an example of what you mean by the "Spirit of EDH"?
You have always advocated house rules when it is a viable option. Does anyone on the Rules Committee play with house rules that go against the official rules (such as still using tuck, the BaaC list, or allowing/banning specific cards)?

That's a bad question to ask ... That's the kind if question if answered yes or no publicly somwhere it will cause grumbling regardless "you don't even use your own ban list it's so bad" and "see they just say house rules are ok we all knew that was a line of bs"
Was tuck banned because you thought it was an actual problem prohibiting people from playing the game or was it banned because you wanted to change the texture/tone of the game? I still cannot for the life of me figure out why, but I also know my point of view is relatively narrow.
Tuck was banned because it violated the spirit of the format because it encouraged strategies that forced a player to not have access to their general. Moreover, because only blue and white have access to tucking, it encourages players to play those colors more.
My question: Are there types of card strategies that you feel are underrated in the format? What your your thoughts on Fog effects? Oust effects?
Planechase EDH is a crowd favorite at many of the shops I play at. Does any of the RC tinker around with Planechase EDH ?
Do you think there's any chance of ever seeing official planechase product that interacts with Commander-specific elements ?
WOTC quite often makes changes that the player base doesn't initially respond well to, but they know that it's for the health of the game long term. Was the "tuck" rule change one of a similar vein, or was the outpouring response unexpected? Has the reaction made you reevaluate the change?
(Of note: I agree with the change and already played with this as a house rule anyways)
Do you think it would be better for the health of the EDH environment and community to keep producing full pre-constucted decks every year, or a specialized Commander's Arsenal set that creates unique cards and answers specifically needed cards?
All of the questions that are being asked are great, I can't wait to hear responses! I have a question:
Do Nevermore effects naming a general violate the spirit of the format? If so, is their room to considerate of a rule that would prevent cards like Nevermore and Declaration of Naught from naming generals? If not, what is the fundamental difference between Nevermore effects and Hinder effects? Black and Red have very limited options to enchantment removal, so in many instances a cast prevention spell can be as restrictive as a tuck spell.
?
Additionally with tuck effects being banned, in the meantime, do you feel that these cast prevention spell cards are being under played
Are you worried that wotc will eventually sanction and take over commander? Is there anything stopping them from being able to do that (besides not wanting to?)
