Ornitharch, Scion of Vitu-Ghazi. I just want a dude I can repeatedly flicker for multiple bird tokens each time for Kangee, Aerie Keeper, but every time they print something that can make multiple spirits on ETB, they print it in a way that it can't be flickered.
I feel your pain. I understand some cards, like the Kamigawa Myojin cycle (Myojin of Night's Reach) need this clause to keep them from being extra crazy good in reanimation/flicker decks, but Cloudgoat Rangers and Skeletal Vampires shouldn't have that clause. They aren't that good.
am I missing something? because you can flicker Ranger and Vampire for tokens
am I missing something? because you can flicker Ranger and Vampire for tokens
That was my point. there are creatures that let you flicker them, like the ones in my example, but others do not. However, as Wildfire939 explained, Scion of Vitu-Ghazi would be bonkers without its conditional clause.

"Whatever style you wish to play, be it fast and frenzied or slow and tactical, the surest way to defeat your opponent consistently is by dominating him or her in the war of card advantage." - Brian Wiseman, April 1996
Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit. Out of the new mono-colored legends in DTK, black gets a really cool and powerful tutor on a stick that acts as a sac outlet. White gets... another uninspired white weenie. No cool white legend based on land search, or recursion, or flicker, or enchantments, or equipment... just another white weenie. Yay.
My weird one is that Archetype of Aggression grants trample and not haste it was the last Archetype spoiled and I really wanted a Fervor on a creature for the same cost. I guess it would be a Urabrask, the Hidden like effect which is why they probably didn't do it, but still.
Containment Priest I have a good budget Legacy Mono Black Reanimator deck and this card just wrecks it. Seriously that one card just screws wayyyyyy too many deck archetypes in Legacy.
As a Karn player, I was just like, "are you frickin' kidding me!?"
Yeah, when I saw this thread the only thing I could think of was Wave of Vitriol for my friend, our group's Kozilek player. Maybe if they do create Barry's land and do make it typed as basic it'll be slightly better? It might still be an auto-scoop card honestly.
Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. Stellar art and theme, but an ability that is about as interesting as the new Rakdos Elder Dragon (which is another one that makes me suspect wizards hates fun).
Luckily, the new Sidisi is pretty cool. Not as good art wise, but I like it. Unfortunately, I suspect this card will make me think the RC hates me soon.

Karona, False God was the biggest middle finger that Wizards ever printed. So bad they actually apologized for it. I have one, and I desperately wish it was better.
Iona, Shield of Emeria is a major middle finger to the people who actually like to have fun. Not fun playing magic, I mean having fun period. She's Queen Buzzkill.
I built a Lovisa Coldeyes shortly before Kahns block came out. Then through the whole dang block they made all of the freaking warrior support heavily BW based and red got the leftover peanuts it seemed like. It really irritated the heck out of me.
Mantis Rider - for years I have been asking for a legendary Lightning Angel. It trolled me good that they did such a close print but did not give me my legend.
Yeah, if it had been legendary and an angel I could finally make the jeskai angel tribal deck I've always wanted to. As it is now I can play ruhan and he can't attack because of moat or I can play numot and get hated off the table. Jenara works but I'd rather have red than green.
Mirko Vosk and Phenax. Such irredeemable trash. And the problem is WotC will keep making them because some players are so bad they can't understand why these cards are garbage.
Normally mill is just a crappy draw for new players, but I have to disagree on Phenax. I run him as my commander and he's a blast. He'll only ever be a casual commander, but he does amazing in that environment when built right.
On that note, I hate Kozilek and Ulamog. They're not fun to play against in general. Plus, while they don't outright stop mill, they slow me down and I'm really tired of people smugly claiming their deck is "unmillable"

You may like mill generals in multiplayer singleton 100 card formats. I however, still feel WotC and MaRo are specifically spiting my love of U/B as well as my infinite humility.
Enchantment hate being infinitely better than the enchantments in magic. There are many examples, but Back to Nature strikes me as the worst, even though it's not widely played at the moment. The Wrath Of God of enchants costs two mana. Two mana, people! Can you imagine how format warping 1W "destroy all creatures" would be? I don't get it. Artifacts are much, much more powerful and their equivalent is Creeping Corrosion.
I'd be okay with enchantments being weaker than other permanents if far fewer things targeted them on the whole, but it seems Wizards is ever ready for the great enchant menace that isn't.
Pretty much any card printed that's better/equal than Savannah Lions.
For many many years it was the best one drop. Now we've got uncommons running around with better creature types and with actual UPSIDES. And not just in white.
Red and black have 2 power creatures in spades now. Even green has one(sortof)
And now that I think about it, the two drops in green are pretty awesome compared to the old 2/2s for 2.

I honestly don't have a problem with this. Well, not anymore. Creatures were terrible for a long, long time. Additionally,Sarcomancy and Jackal Pup were printed in Tempest, card]Carnophage[/card]came out in exodus. Jungle Lion was in portal. I am not even counting the Mtenda Lions and Flailing Soldiers of the world, which there were a number of. The reality is that there were numerous 2 power one drops, though Savannah Lions was the only true creature without a draw back. Savannah Lions had its time in the sun for a long, long time.
Creatures have been given a reasonable power and ability to boost to most and a few crazy power boosts to some, but it hasn't destroyed the game. It has made it better. There are some creatures I wish had never been printed:
Blightsteel Colossus: There is a huge difference between using Tinker on this and on what it used to find for years, Darksteel Colossus. Blightsteel is a one hit win. Always, no questions asked. Darksteel couldn't beat someone at infinite life, gave vintage players two turn to answer instead of one (which is a big deal in vintage), and in Commander, Darksteel Colossus often takes 3 or more attacks to win (by the time you get it out they are not likely still at 40).
Lodestone Golem: I love to play vintage and this card helped stax decks like nobody's business. There were legitamate talks about how this might be the first restricted creature in the format. Basically, Stax decks never had an effecient clock and would force things like Razormane Masticore and Karn, Silver Golem in the deck as possible win conditions. They did well enough, but then WotC gave them what at least was, as I haven't followed vintage the last two years, an umtimate weapon. A combination of tax and a four turn clock all in one card. It went from a format where I could count up at least 12 different decks that won Vintage events internationally, to pretty much just two. Stax and Tez-Vault. If you weren't playing Tez-Vault, you were dying to stax... and even then you still probably died to it unless you had Force of Will in your opening hand or were going first with a turn one win.
7/7 with flying for eight? - Okay, check.
Can it be reanimated and cheated into play? - Yes. Awesome!
Draw 7 cards and lose 7 life? - Nice. What a great nod to Yawgmoth's Bargin and Necropotence. that alone will probably get it banned in Commander.
Lifelink? - Wait, wut? Normally you have to, I don't know, WORK to get your life back. Nope. Not with Griselbrand. He comes with lifelink. You don't even need to play with Loxodon Warhammer or Whip of Erebos. Just attack - gain 7 - pay 7 - draw 7. It really should have had trample instead of lifelink and probably a reanimation clause, similar to Dread, forcing you to at least hard cast it. I love mono black and love Griselbrand, but I hate it at the same time for being too good. It is pure icecream. So much icecream, that it is banned in everything it is good in.

Agreed, I hoped for a few enemy colored nuggets, but no. I had really hoped Anafenza would be black/white based on her story.
I have been dying for one for ages!
