I want to do this in EDH, but it's far too inefficient to devote so many cards to, BUT IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF IT WENT OF! *sob*
(Inf turns by looping Ugin's Nexus)
Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon Voltron/Discard/Stax - expensive build and way too mean to use on my playgroup. Zurgo Helmsmasher Pure Stax - a good control deck can stop it from going off, but it's way too mean for me to make. Adamaro, First to Desire Pure Stax - wipe opponent's lands and mana sources, give them all the cards, kill them with general damage. Too mean for me again.
The only thing keeping me from building certain decks is usually that a particular general, built right, is too oppressive. Their potential is appealing but it wouldn't be any fun for my friends to attempt to play against.
I'll probably never do it, I've seen a hydra tribal idea. I think that would be such a fun deck, and probably pretty fun for my mostly casual meta. But right now is not a good time moneywise. I'm saving up for a couple of boxes of fate reforged. So it won't be possible for quite some time

As for decks, where to start...I have a database with filled deck ideas. Some I've actually made, and some I actually still use. Others have been failures. Others have just been dreams. And others still are just way too oppressive.
Some examples: Tromokratis Voltron; Fun idea, but in practice wound up being really strong. It also bored me after a while. Nath of the Gilt-Leaf Tribal Elves: I love Elves, but Nath is just really mean. Either I dominate the table or it turns into archenemy.
Finally, Enchantress is the one deck style that I keep wanting to build and yet keeps eluding me. I've tried everything from Vorosh to Rubina Soulsinger. One day I'll figure it out. One day.

"Of the" Tribal, a deck led by Scion of the Ur-Dragon using only nonland cards with "of the" in their names. All the Bringers, all the Chancellors, plenty of legends, plenty of silliness.
For an idea that isn't completely terrible, a Jenara, Asura of War counter deck that uses a cheap general with a cheap way of generating counters in combination with the way Simic and other colour combos in Bant can take advantage of that, ideally with some planeswalkers, Doubling Season, and proliferation. Hardened Scales seems like a must. And don't forget to play some counterspells.
So many ideas, so few cards. I've always wanted to make five color wurms, five color lands, and BUG dredge, but haven't due to monetary restrictions. I wanted to make RBW knights but couldn't find a general I liked so I never got around to it. At one point I wanted to make Borborygmos Enraged, but I already had a RG deck, now it's RUG so I guess I could do this. I put together a list for a mono blue book/library/knowledge theme deck which was really cool, but also really bad. I want to build Angus MacKenzie turbo-fog enchantress, but Angus is expensive and I have enough annoying decks already. I want to build Marchesa, the black rose wizard tribal, just haven't got around to it yet. Animar, Soul of Elements grow themed deck, creatures that get +1/+1 counters added. Anafenza, the Foremost hatebears 1v1 deck. Five color one drops, focused on playing creatures with cmc one. Too many stax decks to name, pretty much any oppressive general I have considered building a stax deck around. Bant flash always seemed like a fun idea to me, never tried it though, I'm not sure why. That's all I can think of now, I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting.

A deck made completely out of foil cards that look like famous people/celebrities is my favorite idea. Unfortunately the replay value of casting creatures by their alter-egos diminishes with each playing until eventually it's just a gimmick you pull out for people new to the group.
Kamigawa spiritcraft, splice, and arcane business.
I like the mechanics, and I think they're pretty cool. Too bad they're almost entirely *such garbage*.
I actually ran a deck like that with Karador, Ghost Chieftain at the helm for a time. Really grindy, really fun. You do run some terrible cards but there's nothing better than saccing the spirit with double soulshift 4 to a Birthing Pod and bringing back Eternal Witness and some random spirit thanks to Ashes of the Fallen.

I think when Karador was released, I had the same idea (he's a spirit, right?!), but it just didn't happen. I was really hung up on cards like Eerie Procession, the Sift Through Sands business, and a few others.
Really, these cards have only gotten worse over time; I used to have a Seshiro the Anointed snake tribal deck (unrelated to spiritcraft) that was semi-competently aggressive, but got severely outclassed as Return to Ravnica came out.
I always wanted to try to build a deck packed with the over priced confusing enchantments that red seem to get nearly every set, to confuse and annoy my opponent into conceding.

The answer is purple because ice cream has no bones.
Epic Sedris, a Sedris, the Traitor King deck that uses Hellcarver Demon, Doomsday, Eternal Dominion, Decree of Annihilation, and Shared Fate to do something ridiculous and unnecessary.
I feel like Xenagos would be the best here. But then again, every time I want to build a G/R/x deck, I think about how much better it could be if I just had Xenagos. It's why I stopped making G/R/x decks, which eventually evolved into no Gruul as well.
Also, one of my favourite joke decks in Grixis was my Doomsday + Hive Mind chaos deck. Everyone go doomsday! I then pack nothing but counterspells, draw spells, and Possibility Storm for the next 4-5 turns whilst singing the doom song in chat.
It was built with the best intentions of chaos and mayhem, but eventually got so trolly that it morphed into a meh-hem deck instead. Grade A Troll deck - Would not play again, but kinda want to anyway

Top Control: The only pure lockdown deck in Modern.
I love me some alternate win-cons, but my playgroup almost always has anti-mill options built in almost unintentionally, and it's already such an uphill battle. Once they know the plan they can fight the anti-anti-mill tech too easily. I wish I wish I wish I could wreck libraries, but it's just... not a great strategy in EDH.

This is why I started playing magic in the first place. It wasn't PT aspirations just making noobs cry by doing things that are perfectly fair.

Bears as in 2/2s for 2 or as the creature type bear?
You could totally make that a mono-red deck with Pandemonium or Warstorm Surge.
GUGEdric, Spymaster of Trest - Elfball
WUBOloro, Ageless Ascetic- Doomsday!
RWUEphara, God of the Polis - Blink + Control
GBGGlissa, the Traitor - Stax & Lands
URGMaelstrom Wanderer - Goodstuff RUG
RGWMayael the Anima - Timmy
BRGProssh, Skyraider of Kher - The One Hit Wonder
RGWMarath, Will of the Wild - Old-school Enchantress Hate
RWRAurelia, the Warleader - Equipment Aggro
GGGReki, the History of Kamigawa - Legends + Banding
UBRSedris, the Traitor King - Creatures with : Ability
BUBPhenax, God of Deception - Mill
*Sidenote, I specifically excluded infinite combos from all these decks with the exception of Marath and the squirrel nest + Earthcraft combo.
Looking for something Aggressive in modern? Try - BR Aggro
You can do something similar with Prototype Portal + Phyrexia's Core + Ugin's Nexus

Along this line: "combo" cards that were designed by WOTC specifically to be "comboed" together. Bogbrew Witch and friends, Summoning Station and friends, Sift through Sands and friends, etc.
Ball Lightning Tribal, where nearly every creature in the deck is a variant on Ball Lightning and the rest are cards that abuse them. Greater Good, Ooze Garden, Lifeline, Bloodshot Cyclops, etc. Adun Oakenshield and Kresh the Bloodbraided would both work as generals.
"Of the" Tribal, a deck led by Scion of the Ur-Dragon using only nonland cards with "of the" in their names. All the Bringers, all the Chancellors, plenty of legends, plenty of silliness.
