So, I've been in the process of building 5 mono-color decks, which will then go into building 10 dual colored decks, which will then go into the 10 Wedges/Shards. This is fun and all, but I want to add some theme to it. Looking at what I have already, I think I have one set. If you couldn't guess from the title, they're all Ladies. I think I might make this a think I keep updated, and I might put lists up. If I do, I'll have the mods move it into the list section.
This is a heavy WIP, so for now, let's focus on mono-color.
Black: I love Drana, but the deck hasn't been performing as well as I'd like. Maybe I need more creatures, or maybe I just need a better direction. Now, I love Drana because she's a 4/4 Flier with removal built into a pump spells. What's not to love? Black very little trouble getting big mana. However, Gisa interests the hell out of me. She costs the same and will probably never get there with general damage, but zombie tribal is a very powerful tribal to have. I really kinda want to Hatred a Mortis Dogs with a Dying Wish on it and then cycle a Gempalm Polluter....
Alternate ideas?
Red: Akroma needs work. I lost my mojo somewhere. I like having her as an get there beater with "protection control players who like to tuck mono red generals", but the deck just isn't doing it. I will probably be switching to the mono-red planeswalker, especially if it's Jaya Ballard. Chandra is more than acceptable, and so is Jeska. Worst comes to worst, I can always fall back to Ashling. If someone has another idea, I'm all ears.
Blue: Rayne is in a good spot. I really have no complaints with the deck, though it could perhaps use a few new toys. It's a little stuffed though and am now having trouble taking things out.
White: I have no idea. I was going to default to classic Akroma as a nod to AoF up there, but I don't know. Avacyn is a thing, but expensive and I'm upset that I sold mine. Some interesting ideas are Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile (kinda gimmicky with death touch), Commander Eesha (pro creatures is never bad), Kemba, Kha Regent (load up on stupid equips and meow mix), Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero (if I can get good enough rebels), Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker (could be good, but will probably be hated off the board before doing anything useful), Oriss, Samite Guardian (The damage prevention is actually kinda nice), Radiant, Archangel (Flying tribal. I'm sorry, STORM HERD).
Honestly, I'm leaning towards Radiant. I think it will be pretty awesome. Storm Herd is amazing, so is Entreat the Angels and Decree of Justice, and overall just flying tribal. Nemesis to Spiders Tribal of course. In all seriousness, I think it has the most potential. Again depending on the white planeswalker, I might do that. If it's Sera, well, Radiant can stay locked away in the $1 bin.
Green. This is where I'm running into the most trouble. There aren't many green ladies out there. Before anyone says it, yes, I know Asuza is a lady, but I'd rather not play another boring Asuza deck. That's not the point of this. Ayumi, the Last Visitor is neat and people love Urborg/Stronghold/Cradle/ect, not to mention she's in the sweet 7 range. Jorael, Empress of Beasts is a heavy consideration. Build a big board, and use her as wrath protection assuming she's not hated off first. Melira, Sylvok Outcast would most likely be a Woodfall Primus combo-deck, but still a good thought not to get picked off by infect. (mandatory LOL Phyrexian Hydra). Myojin of Life's Web is a lady, but might need too much build around. Let her die and regrowth effects and/or That Which Was Taken. Nylea, God of the Hunt, shout out to the green god here, though fairly bland she offers trample to the green fatties that need it. Finally, Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro. There are a lot of shamans in mono-green, but is it worth it?
Note on the green PW possibly being Freya, who might take over all other thoughts. I'm honestly torn here on mono green. Ayumi is one I've never seen and might do, though others are tempting. Again, thoughts and suggestions welcome =)
For white, might I suggest Thalia, Guardian of Thraben? She does a very effective disruption/taxing game. Unlike most of your commanders, she's out early as well, mixing up the styles of your decks in the process. Kickass art, too.
For Green, you've missed out on Yeva, Nature's Herald. Have a flash Woodfall Primus. Or perhaps a flash Worldspine Wurm, because why not? There's also Kaysa, if you want to go for a more generic mono-green rawrbigguysgettingevenbigger kind of theme. Finally, you missed out on Glissa Sunseeker, who does offer repeatable artifact removal while flying under the radar. Very fun with Seedborn Muse, though.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Not sure what to contribute to the thread other than saying my peace on my favorite ladies of the format, some of whom you havn't considered. R: Mah Baby Color! Jaya Ballard, Task Mage is such a good general. She lends herself to a more control and mono-red goodstuff list. But she does one thing REALLY well, which red has a hard time dealing with. Telling the blue mage to go Eff themselves. B: Drana is pretty cool, and likely the best of the mono-black ladies I'm partial to two others. Kiku, Night's Flower she can kill so many things in the format plus when playing with her I love yelling "I CAN KILL EMRAKUL BUT NOT AN ORNITHOPTER, FEAR ME." Also Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is one of my favorite durdle decks in existence. U: You know what's better than winning? Winning by making better use of other people's creatures. Sakashima the Impostor is easily my favorite blue femme fatal. W: I'd personally go with Kemba, Kha Regent because the deck builds itself, and when it comes to white the only really interesting commander I've found is Darien. Although Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker is way more effective than you'd initially suspect. G: Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant One of the few flip cards where both halves are Legendary and you can use. Also this deck gets style points like no other. If you run her with a modifed Azusa shell she isn't that hard to get to flip, and then all of the mana.
I'm working on something similar, I've built 9 decks, all 2 color, all with female commanders, and all with a specific feel. As of right now I have
Savra (my favorite deck- Golgari control)
Hanna (my second favorite--artifacts/enchantments)
Radha (Stompy with some nifty tricks)
Oona (Mill)
Saffi (based on Lure effects)
Prime Speaker (Merfolk Tribal)
Gisela (pillow of flame--enchantments)
Teysa, Envoy (based on No Mercy effects)
Nin (Steal everything)
I have Olivia left to build, and when I'm done with the ten guilds, I think I'm going to try and make a Karona deck, but i'm not sure what that will be...maybe atogs

No one spoke. There was no need. The threat of the Eldrazi presented a simple choice: lay down your arms and die for nothing, or hold them fast and die for something.
For white, might I suggest Thalia, Guardian of Thraben? She does a very effective disruption/taxing game. Unlike most of your commanders, she's out early as well, mixing up the styles of your decks in the process. Kickass art, too.

I did think about Thalia, but didn't put her down because 1 mana isn't that much when my play group is hyperramp.meta. Last time we played, the mono green deck (khamal) had 15 mana on turn 3. One game someone forked a Boundless Realms, ect. I feel mono-white is a lot like Mono-red because white's card draw is pretty pathetic and is actually worse than red, but at least it has tutors I can't afford. In theory, all Thalia would do is push the early ramp back a turn at which point, I don't have much else to offer because my spell sare behind a turn as well unless I play all creatures and then I'm behind anyway. In fact, if I'm playing against Animar, which at least 3 people at my table play, then I'm BEHIND a turn wrathing the board lol. I'm really leaning towards Radiant. White has no shortage of producing many fliers, I can rely on the general to get through fairly easily, and I can use Skullclamp to my hearts content eating 1/1 birds or something with Soulcatchers' Aerie, both of which are tutorable not that I can afford them =P
I did not forget Yeva. She is good, yes, but everyone who plays mono-green in a 100 mile radius of me has either Asusa, Khamal, or Yeva, so those three are out. Will Yeva be in the deck? Duh. Leading? Not so much. THe other two were seen and looked over. A 2/3 anthem for 5 mana isn't exactly awe inspiring even if I love the simplicity of it. That alone would give me a reason to think about it, but I don't think it's enough. Glissa is just not as good as her bad self, who will probably be taking the GB slot, though Pharika and Sisters have a good shot. Glissa requires too much imo. 4 mana that sits for a turn, then requires mana and a tap to use that might not have a target. Eh.

Yes, I have used Jaya and might go back to her if I can't find my mojo with Akroma. Still waiting on that red PW though
How is Kiku? I've wanted to use her for awhile, but I'm just afraid she'd be too slow. 4 mana+tap ability ect. Shirei is not a lady, btw
Shakashima is a card I've wanted for a long time, but haven't had the cash for when I've run into one. I don't think she'd lead my deck, but having a second Rayne is fantastic lol
Kemba does build itself, but that's what I'm afraid of from it. Put stuff on cat and get blown out by Bane of Progress/Akroma's Vengeance/Merciless Eviction/ect.
I looked at Sasaya and thought to myself "I need 7 lands in hand and then it flips, great! Now I have 100000 mana with 7 lands in my hand. Great..." and then I also remembered all the enchantment hate that's come about because people need answers to gods

Solid Choices. Quick reply for what I've been running through my head for those colors:
Pharika/Sisters for Gorgon "tribal" more like Deathtouch tribal
Hanna if I can build it right, otherwise sticking to Ephara. However, Lavina might make for a good blink deck. She's been an all star in Ephara, so we'll see.
Radha stompy sounds good to me. Combos with Elvish Aberration and Aggravated Assault. Wort and Rosheen have merit for consideration here.
Wydwen wins the UB for me in this case. Vela holds a close second, though she's more of just a combo engine for me. Wydwen for UB trickery and possibly a fairy theme.
Saffi is built and combo heavy. Kinda boring anymore. Might go with Karametra for turbo ramp.
Primespeaker is the only UG lady. Unless Kraj... Was Momir lonely?
Gisela for me too, more than likely. I want Basandra cause dat art, but I don't know if I could make it work.
Teysa. Love her. Either going to stick with Envoy or go to 1.0 because I've shifted to a sort of human tribal. I think 2.0 will still work best.
Jhoira for me. She has a bad rep where I'm from, but UR has the best stupid expensive creatures and I just want to suspend my Leviathans and Dragons in peace.
Tsabo, Olivia, or Lyzolda. I'm torn. Olivia is fanciful, Tsabo is funny, and Lyzolda gets work done.
Karona is my chromatic choice Avatar tribal!
Kiku is very inbetween, she can be great or terrible all depending on your meta. Also I refuse to believe that Shirei isn't a chick. She takes care of all the little 1/X creatures that can't survive on their own. Or have a propensity of throwing themselves against hard objects to gain life. (Here's lookin' at you Bottle Gnomes.
Sasaya's "Drawback" really isn't much of one. Especially if what you say is true about your ramp-a-thon meta. Burgeoning into Storm Cauldron, grab tons of land back to hand, replay it as people play their own land.
Most of your choices are pretty solid, and I can tell you, from seeing her in action, Teysa 2.0 can be very strong. Slow, controlly game, then voltron her up for the win.
My own experiences probably bias me here, but I think you'd get a lot more out of going with Glissa, the Traitor for Golgari over Pharika. You can still go with the deathtouch theme if you like, because she does it very well, but she's also a fantastic recursion engine.
I'm going to recommend Mirri, Cat Warrior for mono-green, both because she's my favourite character, and because her forestwalk can really screw-over other green players (and because her low mana-cost lets you cast her turn-one if you've got the right opening hand).
I run a Mirri, Cat Warrior voltron deck and can attest that she can be very effective as a voltron commander, and a lot of fun. It isn't a powerhouse deck, given green's lack of tutors for anything but lands and creatures, but it still does pretty well.
Wait... Aren't Sakashima and Shirei dudes? Sakashima in particular had a story posted up on the WotC website and I thought they used male pronouns for him.
Wait... Aren't Sakashima and Shirei dudes? Sakashima in particular had a story posted up on the WotC website and I thought they used male pronouns for him.
Sakashima most definitely is a male. Judging by Shirei's art, I'd say its a male...but he's a kami. He can could be either sex he wanted I'm sure.
Shizo, Death's Storehouse- Shizo is a battlefield cursed by the death of 891 samurai in a single confrontation. It is a loathed sight to all who view it. Now, only a single spirit, Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, stays there. He walks through the dead and prevents lower souls from leaving Kamigawa.
He was able to disguise himself as almost any sentient creature
That I did not know. Good catch lol
Nylea is indeed a lady, at least as much as any of the gods ca be
Shisata is one I completely missed, and I like her. That could be a very interesting build. The upkeep seems annoying, though. Sosuke's Summons would have to be a must, and I would have to do a sort of be in snake trial, too. I'd be afraid of it not being able to get there, though.
I did think about Mirri because forests are pretty common. Not sure how many voltron decks I want, though because 2 power needs help.

I love my Teysa 2.0 as well. I love how much she can shut down certain things while getting there herself. The rest of the deck can really be whatever you want, which is great.
As for Glissa, that's what I was thinking, too. The deck overall will have a deathtoutch theme, it's just a matter of how exactly do I want to make it. Like Gorgon Tribal for example lol
Jorael, Empress of Beasts was going to be my first suggestion for green, and I still with that decision. Could make animatelands.dec and make yours better with anthem effects. Mirri, the Cursed is a fun black general.
White: You hit a lot of them, but Elesh Norn? Lin Sivvi might be interesting, any number of Angels to choose from. Masako the Humorless sounds really interesting.
Elesh is $26 at the moment, which is more than I'm willing to spend on a commander. Also, white she does a lot, I'm leery on a 7 cmc general, though Elesh could be an exception. Money is mostly the issue here.
Mirri the cursed is perfectly fine, and I did consider it.
The wedges are a little tight and GWB is actually impossible sadly, but that's why I'm doing those last. Its gives us time for Khans, though obedient expect more than one tbh, and supplements. I am hoping for a few rocking chicks from KtK though.
Also, would you guys be opposed to helping with decklists? I can put up what I have in the mono colors and we can go from there, start working on the two I don't have, etc. Would we Then have to move the thread?
We'll start off simple with this. I think this is mostly fine tuned, though some obvious things are missing like Top, possibly skull clamp, Long-Term Plans. Other than those, I'm not sure what to change beyond maybe something like Psychic Spiral or Elixir of Immortality. Paradigm Shift is also a consideration for backup plan, but I don't think I need it. Maybe a harder win con?
This is the one I'm currently most comfortable with, and if there's nothing major with it, we'll move to the next one. =)
I run an Olivia Voldaren deck for BR which is all about stealing my opponents stuff. Creatures, permanents, anything I can get my hands on. I even run Conjurer's closet to take permanent control over creatures I steal with Olivia. Is it the best deck for Olivia? Maybe not, but it's so much fun stealing creatures left and right.
If you want any additional R suggestions before the 2014 decks start getting spoiled, Diaochan, Artful Beauty is usually the go-to for this kind of theme I would think .
For mono-W, Radiant, Archangel or Reya Dawnbringer would be my required angel (because angels, and Reya has a juicy launch promo foil). For non-angels, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben has potential, and Masako the Humorless is one that is likely not to be mentioned, though that's probably because she's harder to use effectively (maybe convoke/tap-effects.dec?).
For mono-G, I like the idea of Ayumi, Last Visitor as well (that starting 7 power is just great), and I've personally seen Kaysa do well as an anthem-on-a-stick for token/elf decks.
Olivia or Lyzolda are definately my top choices for BR. I like the closet idea, too. That's brilliant.
Diaochan has been a thought for mono-red, though I do have concerns with her that mirror Kiku actually. Red will be Jaya Ballard, Ashling, or Akroma I think.
Green is still the hardest one I think. Kaysa, as much as I sorta hate to admit, is somewhat tempting because of the art and it's very unassuming. I would say Ayumi, Kaysa, and Shisato are on the top of the list with Jorael close behind.
White has officially been decided as Radiant, Archangel. I have a list of stuff that I think should go in it that will work. One win con is using Requiem Angel or Field of Souls with Cataclysm with Radiant out along with my many ways of making flying tokens.
Any suggestions for obvious choices to go with Radiant? I'll cross check it with my list.

Sasaya's "Drawback" really isn't much of one. Especially if what you say is true about your ramp-a-thon meta. Burgeoning into Storm Cauldron, grab tons of land back to hand, replay it as people play their own land.
My own experiences probably bias me here, but I think you'd get a lot more out of going with Glissa, the Traitor for Golgari over Pharika. You can still go with the deathtouch theme if you like, because she does it very well, but she's also a fantastic recursion engine.
Give Zaliki a CardI must have all the cats!
Hidetsugu - Combo Damage
Ezuri - Elfball
Theorycrafting:
Selvala - "A hunter must hunt."
Selvala - Budget
Glissa Sunseeker could be fun along with cards like Mycosynth Lattice, Myr Landshaper, etc. Unfortunately it would be a very combo-y / general-centric deck, but it could work out well.
Kaysa is alright in a heavy token deck and isn't played much.
Is Nylea, God of the Hunt male or female?
Shisato, Whispering Hunter could potentially be a really interesting and strong deck.
Lady Zhurong, Warrior Queen is definitely the right choice though, on account of being both obscure and moderately terrible in comparison to Ayumi.
Sen Triplets to maximize your ladies for WUB
Primer - Mishra, Artificer Prodigy
Thor, Ragnar Röks!
Hela, and the Enemies of Asgard
Teferi, Temporal Archmage
Sakashima most definitely is a male. Judging by Shirei's art, I'd say its a male...but he's a kami. He can could be either sex he wanted I'm sure.

Mirri, the Cursed is a fun black general.
White: You hit a lot of them, but Elesh Norn? Lin Sivvi might be interesting, any number of Angels to choose from. Masako the Humorless sounds really interesting.
Mirri the cursed is perfectly fine, and I did consider it.

Red/White - Aurelia, the Warleader or Gisela, Blade of Goldnight would be pretty good.
Green/Blue - Is Prime Speaker Zegana female? She might be your only option if she is.
Green/Red - Wort, the Raidmother has "mother" right in her name, even though she doesn't look too womanly. Other good options would be Rosheen Meanderer or Radha, Heir to Keld. I think Ulasht, the Hate Seed is also technically female.
Green/Black - Sisters of Stone Death or Savra, Queen of the Golgari seem like clear choices. Honorable mention to Glissa, the Traitor.
Red/Black - There are a lot of options for this one. Wort, Boggart Auntie seems good. Olivia Voldaren, Lyzolda, the Blood Witch, Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch all seem fine as well. Lady Orca seems terrible though.
Blue/Black - Vela the Night-Clad would be my favorite for this one.
Red/Blue - Nin, the Pain Artist or Jhoira of the Ghitu
White/Green/Black - is Teneb, the Harvester or Doran, the Siege Tower female? If not I don't think there are any for this combination.
White/Blue/Black - There are quite a few for this combo. Sydri, Galvanic Genius, Lady Evangela, or Sen Triplets would be my picks.
Blue/Black/Red - Also plenty of choices here. Marchesa, the Black Rose seems fun. Gwendlyn Di Corci and Garza Zol, Plague Queen seem cool too.
Black/Red/Green - Xira Arien seems female. I'm never sure what the sex of the elder dragons are, though. I'm sure one of them is a female.
Red/Green/White - Mayael the Anima seems like the obvious choice.
Black/White/Red - Kaalia of the Vast seems obvious, but Tariel, Reckoner of Souls seems more original and fun.
Red/Blue/Green - I think Intet, the Dreamer is female.
Red/White/Blue - I think Zedruu the Greathearted is the only option.

RRR - Bosh's School of Hard(cover) Knocks
