This is a bad idea because it would make the decks very hard to get for much of the target audience. The fetches should be reprinted in an expansion set, not a supplemental product.
As for myself, I'd prefer to see monocolor or two-color decks with strong manabases and synergies in the decks. I've gotten quite tired of 3+ color decks and I rarely choose to play more than 2 colors anymore, plus the last two sets of decks were tri-colored. I know that the wedges are significantly lacking in options for Commanders, but hopefully that will be fixed in whatever upcoming block turns out to have a wedge theme. Going off of what ISB said, I'd like to see some more cards that incentivize playing monocolor decks since right now there aren't a lot of reasons to stick with only a single color, and I think that monocolor decks need more love in this format.
Damn, was kind of hoping for a commander supplement that was not just decks again just for some variation. I guess I would not mind seeing them do some mono stuff this time around.

I will always firmly stand by the belief that Magic is a game first and a collectable second.

What exactly were you hoping for? The Commander's Arsenal was a pretty huge failure, while the decks have been excellent. I guess I can't really think of what type of product they could do that would be a better choice than the decks.

They should just beat Fetchlands to death like they have done with Sol Ring. Print them in an expansion set first, and then every Commander product. One reprint will not do enough to the $100 rising price tag.

I could never in my wildest dreams restrict myself to two colors, let alone one. Maybe that just proves your point. Yet, how many mono and dual colored legends came out in just this past year? 40? How many tri-color? Outside the Commander products, just Marchesa, right? How many 4-colored legends in the entire history of magic? I know mono-color needs some love, but to me it seems like wealthy Americans demanding they get more food before Ethiopians get any at all.
I can't stand the legends in these products specifically designed to be commanders. They're all so mindless and their builds are obvious, canned, and predictable (i.e. boring). I want new wedge legends as much as the next guy, but I want them to come from a standard rotation set and require some clever and unique builds to make them useful as commanders. As for this product, I just want some more good new mono-color spells.
4 color generals There are absolutely none unless you house rule the nephilim
I know they tried to do this for the original commander decks, but they couldn't come up with good ideas to differentiate them.
Hopefully they have made progress in that regard.
The Nephilim did pretty good at it. I think they have to just pick an ability that the missing color DOESN'T do. Just think of it as the anti-commander of a mono colored legend.

The problem has always been that 4 color really looses its identity and is so similar to 5 color that its not really noticeable to lack a color. Personally, I dont get the want for 4 color commanders because I agree that its just easier to do 5 color and move on.
The thought of doing a cycle of 4 color decks sounds sort of terrible to me because it would be easier to do a single 5 color commander and include legendary 4 color creatures within it. Building a full cycle of 4 color decks seems like it would be boring because it would essentially be 5 decks of all the same feeling identities.

If the new block is wedges, I agree with this.
I doubt it. MaRo has been known to troll before (anyone remember the Future Sight reprint in Theros?) plus I just can't see them experimenting with something like that in a Mongolian-themed setting.
Anyway, I'm also hoping for Wedge, including better Wedge specific spells (Overgrown Estate, for real?) Out of the twelve non-legendary Wedge cards, really only six are actually good.

It would be interesting if they went with a tribal theme.
I wouldn't mind that at all. Would you want it to be mainstream tribal or some sort of rogue tribal that we don't see much of... I think a rogue tribal would be more interesting. At the same time though, seeing new legends to support the main tribes would be really cool too.

I think you're going about it the wrong way. Each deck should have a unique mechanic and feel, not just be 4-color goodstuff. People will undoubtedly build goodstuff versions of it but the commander products should bring a unique theme to each deck, just like they usually do. Have you played against an Ink-Treader Nephilim deck? The strategy is really cool, and requires just a minor build around. It's way different than Dune-Brood Nephilim, which is tokens in the 4 colors that do it best. I think a theme is what makes Commander products so unique from each other.

Offtopic speculation: I think the set might be wedge-themed... But with a catch. It will only be one wedge: WBR
Even if that's true though, the Commander set should be wedges.
These special prints are one of the few ways to introduce new things that aren't available to standard / modern though so regardless of what they do they can bring up the power level or do something that refers areas of the game such as the command zone that are not utilized in other formats. Due to these constraints I would love to see what they would do for mono colored commanders because in mono color where you don't have to consider standard / modern you can really open things up a bit and have a commander that really encompass what a color wants to be doing. I would be very interested to see what sort of a mono colored commander they could make where they don't have to worry as much about the balance of standard and modern because I think it would be a little more powerful and utilize the strengths of the color.
I am a hardcore mono colored commander sort of guy though and I love pushing for synergistic mono colored commanders so obviously that will sway my own wants.

Monocolor; a handful of new cards wouldn't be bad, but honestly, I look forward to the reprints of cards I currently cannot find/afford, as well as new art/borders for cards I do own.
Done correctly, it can even take advantage of the Devotion mechanic of Theros block.
Cheers!

This. I don't play a lot of monocolor decks right now, but I would really like to play them more, so I would love to see WotC promote more reasons to choose them over multicolor.
What are you hoping for?

They could also do something like "The Hall of Champions", where they print a bunch of new generals in various colors but without decks.
