Preamble; I am forever the aggro player. Right now I'm rocking Godo, Bandit Warlord, Chainer, Dementia Master and Wort, Boggart Auntie. That's not to say I haven't played many a different deck in the past but I've since sold my collection and am slowly just building EDH decks. I plan on turning Godo into Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient. I want this to be a somewhat general reliant, "voltron" for the lols but also focus on being thematic.
Daxos of Meletis is a human soldier. I would sort of like to stick to a theme so I get to build a deck that isn't all the good (expensive) blue and white cards. My immediate thought was tribal soldiers. Then I searched for humans. Then I figured out that human wizard is a relevant creature type. Needless to say, I don't know what to do.
Tell me what to do and why? "Drop the theme and win with all the turns or Armageddon" need not apply.
There are a few areas to pay attention to when you go about building the deck:
With Daxos' ability, you'll probably want some ramp to help cast things you reveal with more consistency. In blue and white, this means things like mana rocks, land search artifacts, Weathered Wayfarer, etc. I like the white Kor Wood Elves (forget the exact name), since I personally run a small amount of flicker/bounce/recursion. Also, Burnished Hart is amazing ramp in any non-green deck.
Since Daxos doesn't do anything with lands, having ways to know what you'll be hitting is important. One way (a pretty good one, I feel) is to put what you want to cast on the top of its opponent's library yourself. There are threecounterspells (one of which, surprisingly, is white) that I know of which put the countered spell on top of its owner's library. Fateseal is also good, though there are only two cards with it since it's a Future Shifted mechanic. One is a sliver, but the other is actually the quite strong Spin Into Myth. Finally, Griptide effects will stick creatures from the battlefield where you can cast them as well.
Then you can try playing with the sillier, not strictly "great" cards. My two examples are Lantern of Insight, played purely to give you information on who you can attack to cast the spell you want, and Coral Fighters (ok, I lied, here's another Fateseal, though it doesn't use that name for it), which can give you a small amount of choice if it happens to not be blocked and is attacking the same target as Daxos.
Will write more suggestions later, if you wish, but it's getting late, so that's the end of this post. Hope some of it helps!
As a parting note, I'd like to point out that, considering he has built-in evasion, I've had much more issues getting Daxos to connect than I expected. I haven't done anything about that yet, but you could look into auras and equipment that make him unblockable (Steel of the Godhead).
