What if instead he were a punisher mechanic? such as "for each opponent destroy target noncreature permanent that player controls. Each opponent may have you put a forest onto the battlefield tapped from you your library to prevent this." The wording would need to be cleaned up, but i think this would fix him rather well. thoughts?
Like tribute?
If I had been the one fixing it, then either/or. Personally though, I don't really think he needed too much fixing.
Yes Very similar to tribute. just more multi-player friendly for the caster.
Well today I at least found the replacement for the Primordial in my Roon deck. Perplexing Chimera will be pretty nasty with the deck's blink effects, and will give me close to the same utility as the Sylvan Primordial.
I don't see any reason to errata or alter this card. The over-performance in one format does not mean the card is broken. This is not Tolarian Academy.

If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
The easiest way to fix it is to fix the entire cycle: "When ~ ETB, if you cast it from your hand, do X"
I would say that the vast majority of comes into play creatures would be more interesting if they used this more often. Blinking a creature is cute the first time, but making it a one shot thing is much more interesting strategically, and helps prevent broken things.
