I retired my Omnath list before the ban came around, so I can't speak for that. As far as the new Karametra list I'm brewing, it was easy. Found a spot for the Kamahl that I previously couldn't find a place for.
I guess I was one of like 3 people who didn't use sypri in a degenerate way? Anyways, for animar (the only deck that ran him), I'm giving people a choice - I can either keep playing him, OR I can swap him out for Palinchron and go infinite, their choice.
First time in literally ever have I so completely disagreed with a banning. Should have been Deadeye. Regardless, if the rules committee refuses to let me have fun and powerful cards, I'll just play obnoxious and powerful cards instead.
(for the record, my playgroup is now discussing ignoring this banning)

Deadeye is easy to kill without it ever doing anything. I am pretty sure soulbound goes on the stack... run instant speed removal. also dies to wraths but you get your value.

You are going to hold them hostage? Real community spirit there man.
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.

Eh, my playgroup has never had a problem with the pry. ran an emergency vote of some of the major players and we're removing him from our local banlist.
That's mostly for others - I intentionally cut dickish cards like palinchron/cloudstone curio/ect from animar in order to make it more aggro and less combo (in fact, the only "combo" enabler in the deck is now tidespout tyrant), so cards like SyPri are far more important to me than in other animar decks. If I'm going to be punished for playing the card fairly, then screw being nice. This was a lazy, crappy banning that wasn't well thought out, and the problem could have been cut off at the source if deadeye was hit instead. In the grindstone/painter analogy, sylvan is the grindstone.

This sounds terribly familiar, ala the banning of Primeval. This feels like a really terrible reaction to me. Honestly, while I agree with you about Deadeye, I also stick by the RC on their decisions. I don't always agree, and I'll voice that, but crossing my arms and refusing to budge seems like a bad response to the decision...
Honestly, I didn't think the card was that overwhelming. I'll just swap it out for Terastodon in one deck and Woodfall in another and call it a day. Not the end of the world at all.

Grindstone was able to destroy lands from all players AND ramp you even if it was removed immediately? Man I need to read that card again.
You want to call it lazy go ahead, but thats just a knee jerk reaction to you thinking the ban was unjustified. Maybe you did play it fairly, and if you gave a local group you can get them to allow it. For regular EDH players this was a good call. I also think DEN could go and not many people would complain, but there would be some like you who thought they only played it fairly.

Never a problem for me. Played it once in my deck when it was released, find it extremely boring to play with & against, hence took it out and never looked back.
Now it's just animate Jin as fast as possible, which isn't nearly as fun as SP.
There's no replacement for this card. NONE.
Mimeoplasm is dead. Deveri is the new deck to play.
Oh hush, there are plenty of replacements. People said the same thing when Prime Time got the ban hammer, and the world kept spinning even before wizards printed something comparable in SyPri. There are plenty of ways to make Seedguide Ash die, sac outlets are plentiful and you should be running some anyway. Even more so, green has no shortage of ramp effects.
If SyPri was so important to your deck that it literally will not function without it, than your deck wasn't very good in the first place. Did your deck completely fold if SyPri got countered and people stopped you from few reanimating it (GY hate, reanimating it before you could, Hinder / Spell Crumple, etc)? If your deck was completely focused on SyPri, that is just more evidence that banning him is just. He forced games to all about him and he was always the obvious tutor target, the same exact reasons Prime Time got banned.

They too would be wrong.
No, grindstone was the random decent card that became degenerate when you added an enabler (in this case, DEN). Without him in the format, not only does sylvan cease being insane and become just good, but a lot of other degenerate BS stops being degenerate as well. A more reasonable approach would have been to ban DEN and see if sylvan is still too powerful.
As far as banning DEN/people playing it fairly goes: That actually doesn't happen DEN is useless in EDH outside of being a combo engine, while SyPri has tons of legitimate uses as versatile noncreature removal.

If you really think SP and Grindstone are comparable it is safe to dismiss your opinion about the banlist. Lets get this topic back on track:
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
Only my Hazezon deck will be effected, and it was only in there because it's a cheap ($ wise) piece of power that I frankly think I'd be dumb not to use (format warping indeed.) Im not sure what I'd put in, but I feel Terrastodon and Woodfall Primus will be the swaps most people make, that or some kind of creature based ramp... or just put Into the Aether in its slot.
People get way too angry about the ban. Yes, it's a STUPID STUPID STUPID ban, but it's just a $0.50 card, and if your entire strategy comes apart from it, then you might want to reevaluate your deckbuilding skills.
I only played it in Zegana myself. Plenty of other value plays at the CMC7 slot that could be played there.

-UG decks can clone it a ton of times after playing it, thus setting everyone else even further back.
-BG decks can reanimate him over and over.
I think the better question is how you BEAT a turn 3 SyPri, since the green player is now waaaaaay ahead in mana and can do stupid things like tutor up and drop Vorinclex, Eldrazi titans, and the like. Sure, it's not impossible to beat a turn 3 SyPri, but don't act like it's easy, either.
"RC banned a card I use? Well the gloves comes off then, non-interactive synergy full scale ahead."
its not that - I've lots TONS of cards to bannings, including my beloved gifts ungiven. However, every single banning up till now has had SOME sort of reasonable justification - hell, even Primetime's banning made more sense than this. But for some reason, banning SyPry is making me lose my ****, and I only use it in a single deck. Its a senseless banning, is all.
