It's one of the better creature tutors, actually. Shame I don't have any Selesnya-based decks, this would make the cut about 75% of the time if not more often. Worldly Tutor should always be ran over this, of course, but being able to fetch 3 creatures for 3 mana is a great deal, and if you have some form of drawpower next to it, things become much better.
Solid card, shame about the white part of it's cost.

Excellent card, especially if you have any sort of draw engine going. Excellent in Selesnya, Abzan or Bant. I've recently picked up a few more copies on PucaTrade because I could use it in a couple of decks that currently don't run it.
Definitely a solid creature tutor, I had somehow forgotten about it (gotta love this thread for that). I'll probably snag a copy for Karador. It isn't quite Buried Alive (as far as Karador is concerned) but if I want a three mana creature tutor it looks to be the next best thing.

I have it in my Mayael the Anima deck. Great sucess. Use it at EoT, draw some utility creature and then use Mayael to put the second OP big thing right onto the battlefield.
never seen it before.. seems like it should be very good actually. i personally am not very into tutors, since i think it leads to monotonous gameplay, but for the peeps who do like it, making sure your next 3 draws are beefy dudes seems good.

Solid niche card and budget tutor. Takes some work to get all 3 creatures when you need them. I would find myself tutoring ramp creatures early, but if you get something like Regal Force on top, then its good value.
I usually prefer Worldly Tutor over it due to the lower cost as both are cards you generally want to cast at endstep or during upkeep. Its rare that I have plans three creatures deep as well so getting a third can sometimes be awkward.
I used it a little bit in Gaddock Teeg since he is limited in what he can use for creature tutors. Overall its alright but its not a card I prefer to use given the option.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

Was it really that recently? I saw the price when I did the card this morning and couldn't believe it. I think I have one in my bulk commons box because it was never worth much.

It seems to me like its better to just use Chord of Calling in modern than to try to assemble what is essentially a really bad 2 card combo.

Seems like a lot of effort and set up for something that can be accomplished with one card. My overall impression of this card is that it's too fragile and outclassed for a competetive combo deck to bother with, and too boring, slow and predictable for most casual circles to want.
I don't think I ever noticed that this was an instant. It's good and very underplayed at instant. Sadly my only GW deck only runs a couple creatures and has no use for this.

Not that I know of that was seeing play. Melira, Sylvok Outcast + Kitchen Finks + Viscera Seer is something that could be set up but it is still a 3 card combo and it doesn't end the game. Pod is gone though which sort of makes that combo crumble a bit too.
Still works though, you just need to get an extra mana somewhere to drop the viscera seer, just put it on top of the congregate pile so you draw it first. Or maybe you'd rather draw malira.
Or just pass on that turn 3, then EOT do the thing and get the 2 guys out, that way you untap and drop piece #3. You can even GSZ for 2 of them if you run into probs. In general, this combo is even better to include in that deck, since it's a 2 card to assemble 3 cards, as opposed to needing to assemble 3 cards individually. It also gives backup to all 3 missing pieces (if you already have one or two), and can be run in tandem with other search.
In essence, Chord may work better if you can get 2 of the creatures in hand, but then that's 3+x mana in one shot, so you'll need 5-6 mana to pull it off, whereas this set up only needs 4.
Of course, why run only one set of the combo, if combo is your end goal. Run the durdly 2 card combo to get them both out, but if you already have one creature,just drop it and GSZ out the other.
Anyways, pod was a 1 card combo, and this is simply subbing it out with a 2 card combo instead.

In EDH, it's fantastic. Typically the top card you get lets you easily draw or cheat the next two. Even something as simple as Sylvan Recruiter on top can be excellent value. In short, a cheap multi-tutor lets you easily either assemble a combo, or gain excellent value in short order, even if only sent to the top.
There are a handful of cards I look at, admire the power of the card, and have no interest ever putting them in my decks. This is one of them. It does a lot of stuff for 3 mana. It's an instant. It can set up game wins... and maybe because of my bias against tutors and all things that chop off the branches of decision trees, I won't touch it.

With only 10 slots for each guild, nope. The card in and of itself doesn't do anything and that's something I really try to keep out of the Cube unless it makes certain very specific strategies more playable (Waste Not or Geth's Grimoire for example). This is such a generic "goodstuff" card in there that it's never going to make the cut. I don't run many tutors at all though - Stoneforge Mystic, Green ramp, and Fetchlands are about it for "search your library" effects.

Underrated as a combo fetcher, 9/10.
Being an instant, it synergizes well with Call of the Wild EoT setups and exceptionally well with Lurking Predators.

Pretty good for EDH. I never actually played it just because I never spent the time to set it up to where I get all 3 creatures. Eladmiri's Call, Worldly Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, and maybe Survival of the Fittest all would probably go in before this, and that is most of my Tutor slots. There is also Green Sun's Zenith and Chord of Calling for other good tutor options.
