Nice combat trick anthem, but it's really only worth running when you build your deck to alpha strike. Wouldn't make the cut for me. For one more mana you could jut run Purphoros, God of the Forge and get the same effect plus an ETB bonus.
Edit: Thought his pump ability was 1R to activate. I was wrong.
I can't count the amount of times that a trumpet blast has won me the game... in limited.
In edh there are better cards to run than this, but I'd make a special mention to Shu Yun, which doesn't even want this card because it costs too much.

Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.

yea its not all that good.
art is overall ok, but the flavour text doesn't actually make sense with the mechanics of the card. effect is a bit small for the cost. if granted first strike as well, it'd be a lot awesomer.
Strictly worse than Rally the Peasants if you're in R/W, and strictly worse than Dynacharge no matter what. I don't think I'd run any of these cards, though I could see Rally making the cut if I was super aggressive and swarmy. Half Rally just doesn't do enough to warrant a card slot in EDH. Actually I suppose Trumpet Blast has an extremely narrow application of being able to pump another player's creatures, but meh.
Any deck that's trying to increase it's number of overrun effects shouldn't immediately overlook it, as it's about as cheap as you could go for an instant-speed version of this effect. That said, there's not a lot of pressure for these effects to be all that cheap (outside of Pauper/Peasant/TL, where larger effects probably aren't available), as you'll usually have enough mana and then some to cast the more traditional Overruns by the time you have a large enough army to exploit it.

While the Rally the Peasants point stands, Dynacharge cannah be used politically in the odd chance you need to do so.

Yeah, once again, one-shot pumps just don't cut the mustard in EDH. I'm hesitant even to run Overrun, because I'll inevitably get it stuck in my hand after the sweeper wipes my field clean.
Come to think of it, it's been weeks now since I played against anybody who wasn't running a scorched-Earth policy. Is it my imagination or is this format getting controlling?

So many better options. Though I suppose if you're playing politics for some reason, it might be interesting.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
You can use it in a crappy music tribal deck, along with oddities of Magic's past, such as didgeridoo and Arcum's whistle. Zurgo Bellstriker would work wonders as the commander.
Yeah I like this guy. I've never had a good deck to put him in, but he definitely seems useful. I could see him getting some love in Sedris, the Traitor King.
Creatures with a Smelt stapled to them are the arch-nemesis of any artifact deck (which is pretty much all of them since everybody runs mana rocks at least). Beastly with any kind of reanimation / blink / bounce effects. And don't underestimate the power of destroying mana rocks; many decks are crippled if you just take out their land ramp (Expedition Map, Burnished Hart) and mana rocks.
Course, I'm an artifact junkie, so guys like this make me see red. (ha ha what I did there!)

Love Ingot Chewer. He's in my Marchesa, the Black Rose deck because of the weird/cool way Evoke works. The dream is to evoke Ingot Chewer, pay 3 life to Unspeakable Symbol to put a counter on it before it leaves, then get it back at end of turn to destroy another artifact and give me the creature.
I've included this card in a fair number of decks, and I don't think I ever cast it for its actual cost. Fun against a turn 1 Sol Ring.
I think I would prefer Vandalblast or Shattering Spree over him; both do the same job against T1 Sol Ring, all three kill artifacts dead at any point of the game, but a 3/3 for 5 isn't something I want to be casting. Wrathing all artifacts or destroying 5 of them is more of my style.

All that is true, but being a creature does have advantages. He is more easily recurred in WRx or RBx decks, more easily tutored in RGx decks, and blinkable to boot. And many decks run cards like Ruric Thar, Genesis Wave, and Primal Surge that really want your whole deck to be creatures/permanents.
In a vacuum, comparing him to Vandalblast makes sense. They both have the same R mode and they both have a second 4R mode. Yes, one sided wrathing is more powerful than a 3/3 body. But there are a great many cases where being a Creature/Elemental/Permanent will be a huge upside for Ingot Chewer. Just as there are other decks where being a nonpermanent is an upside for vandalblast.
In general, I'd prefer the sorceries for cheap artifact destruction, as the body ain't great, unless I have a way to abuse the fact that it's a creature (eg the aforementioned Marchesa and Adun). Still far from a bad card though.

Fair enough, I hadn't thought of it that way.

Being able to slow down the turn 1 Sol Ring-ers is so clutch.
