I used to force this card into various decks, most notably Animar where I could benefit from the cost reduction. I liked the idea that I could drop it as a chump blocker and have the versatility to pay a little extra later on. Eventually I stopped running them because 6 mana is an awful lot when you think about it.
It's a good card, but green has enough other Bramblecrush/Creeping Mold/Naturalize effects on dudes that he never really makes the cut anymore. It doesn't help that you never really want to cast him in Hill Giant mode, and that he can't be flicked or reanimated profitably.

I ran him in my Azusa stax for a while because I wanted a high density of removal spells with bodies, but I don't think I ever wound up casting him. He's not terrible, but he's definitely last pick if you're looking to fill up a deck with that type of card.
The biggest strike against him for me is the lack of synergy with blink. That and the fact that deathtouch can be really relevant usually give Acidic Slime the nod. It's nice that Moldy can hit planeswalkers too, though. Still a pretty cool card, but one that's a bit outclassed by other, similar 187s.
Like everyone else said, he's just a bit worse than enough cards that he never seems to make the cut. He's not bad per say, but he's not good enough. If he cost 1 more and didn't need a kicker I'd run him, because hitting planeswalkers and +1/1 would make him very comparable to acidic slime.

He might make the cut in an Animar, Soul of Elements deck, where he runs with Acidic Slime. Usually Animar has four or more +1/+1 counters, making both cost GG.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
hyalapterouslemur: Why wouldn't you run Brutalizer Exarch in that case then? It can get down to G in Animar, it hits Walkers, it has a 3/3 body, PLUS it tucks the card (defeating recursion) and has an alternate mode where you can tutor.
I liked this guy a little before Exarch came around, but I see no reason to consider him now.

This reminds me of a time where I hardcast a Krosan Tusker because I was in topdeck mode (I'd have done the same for ol' Moldy too). It felt bad, but it was something.

You have never played MtG until you've felt this way. It does not matter how good you are at this game, you are not a Magic player until you have done this at least once.

The one thing that he has going for him is that he hits planeswalkers and Acidic Slime doesn't. While I still wouldn't run the mold shambler, if you desperately need more answers for planeswalkers in your group you might want to consider it.
To be fair, though, Igneous Puncer was pretty fun when both players were in topdeck mode on ARB-Con-Ala drafts.

Its a bad card and Acidic Slime is long way before this.
Probably, I could use it in Animar, but outside of that, there is no deck I would like to have it.

This right here. I've lost my Lilianas, Garruks, and Elspeths many-a times to this guy.
I personally like this card (expensive though he may be). I wouldn't run him in place of Slime by any means but in addition to? Yes. 6 mana isn't terrible in green and being a creature makes him a sac target and reuseable (though his kicker makes him less so than Slime).
Most people would consider Acidic Slime, Terastodon, Woodfall Primus and Brutalizer Exarch before adding Mold Shambler, but its at least a playable card. It is nice that it can hit Planeswalkers where Slime cannot, but Green should have no reason to fear Planeswalkers in general because they usually can just kill them with an attack step. Green also has several highly flexible, non-creature based ways to deal with permanents in Beast Within, Bramblecrush, Creeping Mold, and Desert Twister, so its not like green has a lack of options. I think that if push came to shove, I would prefer to run Spine of Ish Sah or Karn Liberated at one more mana and be able to hit creatures.
My opponent cast worldfire... I drew, land, conjurer's bauble into land...then leaden Myr then attacked for the win... Yeah leaden myr is the hero! try to do that with a mana rock!...too bad worldfire is banned.
