I had the great fortune of opening one of these at the Champions pre-release.
It was garbage then and it's garbage now. The fact that you can be pretty sure people have a card in their decks (i.e. Sol Ring) and you KNOW how many copies their running makes it consistent, but a "consistent" 8 damage to a player only for 6 is not that exciting.
Well, it is worthless in limited.
Here I can see value in it with somehelp. But it's still not my first choice. But it can be used maybe in a deck that runs off of damage doubling.
Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
Well we are playing EDH here. There are plenty of times when I know a card in my opponent's library through effects like Oracle or just having played the deck once. And when in doubt, name Sol Ring. So to me, the real question is, would you pay six man's to let everyone see a player's deck and deal them 8 damage?
Far too expensive to have any good use. I'd suggest turning to Jaws of Stone before this one if you want expensive non-X burn spells, because it tops out above Mindblaze quickly enough and has versatility in its options.
You need to play Mindblaze five times to kill your opponent in EDH. You only need to play Lava Axe four times in regular games, you know? The value of this card is greatly negatively affected by your starting life total.
Mind you, 4 mana Reveal Library would be pretty ridiculous.
That's an interesting question. What would be the right mana cost for a card that just read "Target player reveals then shuffles their library." I don't think they've ever published a card like that and, on the one hand, it seems so trivial that 1 mana might be too expensive, but on the other...
Extract costs U lets you do this and exile a card. Praetor's Grasp does the same thing as Extract, as well as giving you the option to cast said card later for 1BB. I think Mindblaze is pretty overcosted.

Well, for multiplayer purposes, "reveal" means all other players get to see that player's entire library, while "search" means only you have the knowledge. While I think the implications are minimal to the actual game itself, it is substantially a different effect even with the minimal implications.
I sort of feel like the casting cost of this card is wrong. For five mana, white has no problem coming up with some cards to wrath the board, so why would I want to give tokens, especially ones with flying, to my opponents? I could make this a three card combo with Elesh Norn and something to make her survive the wrath (or simply cast her afterwards for a total of 12 mana), but that seems like too much work. I'm sure there's a good use for the card, but beats me what it is.
Seems like the best use would be in a deck full of soldiers and saprolings; upgrade all your guys into fliers and downgrade opposing creatures into 1/1s? Esp. if you have an anthem in play, that sounds... reasonable, I guess. Still not terribly exciting.
i use it in tokens, since i basically don't lose anything, and my favourable winds et al helps turm 'em into something a tad better..
having said that, i'd rather use Mogg Infestation
if it was 3cmc, it'd be a tad undercosted though methinks..
Of the 5-cost wraths, Rout is the only one that doesn't threaten to hinder you or be inadvertently nulled by certain archtypes (Winds of Rath does diddly against enchantress/voltron for example), so if you're in the market for 5-cost wraths, it may just come down to choosing the most beneficial one for you/your meta. If you can make use of the ETB triggers, or can set-up a Pyrohemia/Goblin Sharpshooter quickly enough, it's probably better than it looks.
The best combo I can come up with for this card is Mana Echoes, which would give you mana equal to the number of creatures you control X the total number of creatures in play. Following it up with a Massacre Wurm seems like it could be pretty nasty, too.

Hallowed Burial is actually much better than most 5cmc wraths.
March of Souls is a neat option for death trigger decks. Cards like Vicious Shadows and Blood Seeker make great use of the tokens your opponents get. A similar card to March is Mogg Infestation, which only hits one player.
Aside from the decks abusing death triggers, I would rather run a bunch of different wrath effects before this one.
Wrath of god, day of judgment, supreme verdict at 4
Hallowed burial, rout at 5
Terminus, akroma's wrath, austere command at 6
So that's 8 white board wipes, and I know I'm missing some of them. I wouldn't run the card of the day over any of them.

I'm not sure why you would want to turn your Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite into a spirit, but if you played her a turn or two after is would be pretty beastly.

Bad card is obviously bad (in Commander, I don't really know how it held up in Limited, nor do I care). So let's open this up a little broader: how do you all like this mechanic in Commander? We see it with cards like Fumiko the Lowblood, Grand Melee, or just on better creatures like Ruric Thar, the Unbowed.
Well, it is worthless in limited.

That said, I'd probably just pump my Stuffy Doll's power, throw on Furnace of Rath, and Wrack with Madness Or do the same, but using a fight card.
On phasing:
Why are you only doing 8 damage? Clear;y you should be playing this in Riku with Radiate, Fork, Mirrari and Furnace of Wrath.
The only sad thing is that it's not an arcane spell, and that it doesn't have splice.

Legacy - Solidarity - mono U aggro - burn - Imperial Painter - Strawberry Shortcake - Bluuzards - bom
I could find a home for it in some kind of Gisela, Blade of Goldnight build, alongside Purphoros, God of the Forge and some mass damage effects/Hedron-Field Purists shenanigans. The fact that it only requires a single W is good for tri/five-color decks as well .
RRR - Bosh's School of Hard(cover) Knocks

Cathars' Crusade, Dictate of Heliod, Martyr's Bond. If you're playing green, you also have Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Primal Vigor, Collective Blessing, Beastmaster Ascension, and Aura Shards. If you're playing red, you have Mana Echoes and Purphoros, God of the Forge. If you're playing black, you have Curse of Death's Hold and Grave Pact and friends. If you're playing blue, I'm sure you have something. Um, Ephara, God of the Polis?
On phasing:
Beck seems good (note that it doesn't care who controls the creatures) But that adds a third color (besides blue & white)
