I started in revised, and when the new borders came out in Mirodin(?), I think that I wanted to throw up. Over the years the new borders have won me over a bit. For me it depends on the card itself, or the printing. I love a good dark printing of the old bordered cards, but hate them if they get to looking washed out. I've also grown to like FTV foils too.
Classic > chaos shifted > modern > the rest >>>>>>>>>>>>>> future shifted.
Words cannot express how much I hate the future shifted frames. They obstruct the art, they aren't symmetrical at all, and the way they have spots for casting costs is a mess (You can't do Progenitus in the future fame, there's no room for 10 mana symbols). If they were to ever switch to future shifted frames for all new cards I'd never buy another product and would only play with old stuff and promos that get put in old frames.
Classic frames are my favorite ones. They are distinct amongst the colors, not so homogenized. And they take me back to the days of legends and revised when I started. Though I will admit I like the newer frames for gold cards. But that's offset by the crap way artifacts look now.
My vote is for the old frames. It's more of a nostalgia thing for me. I'd love for WIzards to print more promos with the old frame (like this Sword of Fire and Ice.)

Just want to let you know that every card does this to some extent. It's more apparent with the Future Shifted cards because they have translucent designs (Eldrazi cards have the same thing), but it's hardly exclusive to Future Shifted frames. The art for Telling Time is a massive cropjob, for example, and the full art puts the card to shame.
Old frames. If an old-framed erosion of a card is available, I will acquire that version.
Same here. I love the judge promo's of cards that are only printed otherwise with the modern frame, like SoFI. I do love the extended art on some promo cards, like Mitotic Slime.
Modern black border is my favourite, then old black border, then old white border, then modern white border.
White border sucks!
Overall, I try to get any version with a black border before any version with a white border. I think my biggest problem with the borders is really just that they are different. Seeing the different borders side-by-side makes them both uglier.
I love the old gold frame; it's my favorite of all. The new multicolored cards aren't gold, they're yellow.
Clearly you are lying.
I kid. The old Gold frames have the issue of all looking exactly the same. The new ones are cleaner and allow for much more personality depending on the colors being used, particularly on two color cards and planeswalkers. Also, Gold and Yellow are so similar that I don't see the distinction.

Anyway, I prefer the old border.

Brown is much more steam punk imo.
White borders are terrible.
