The people who created EDH named it Elder Dragon Highlander. They used iconic creatures like chromium and Vaevictis Asmadi and bashed each other for 7 in the air. They didn't use the cheapest, most broken commanders, which WERE available back then. They used iconic, story-related creatures. So, now you tell me turn0/1 combo is in the sense of EDH?
Turn 0/1/2/3 combo players can of course exist and play against each other. But this forum is infested with them which gives other reading people the impression almost everyone would think like these people, with mindsets that are detrimental to the idea of EDH. So it's important to state the other, bigger, casual, not-just-play-for-the-win-with-all-means voice.
First of all, lighten up. It's a thought experiment. One can just replace "EDH" with Legacy. It's not like most of these are actually any good.
This becomes a bit simpler if you replace the land, mana vault, and sol ring, with lotus petal and show and tell. Just so it isn't dependent on playing a land.
This is personally my favorite for three reasons:
1. The winner of the game is entirely determined by turn order.
2. If you do this at the end of someone's untap step, they lose from a pact trigger during the first upkeep of the game, which is hilarious in my opinion.
3. It uses Pact of the Titan.

You can't do anything during an untap step, so point 2 is impossible, though this is still hilarious.

Unfortunately, this exercise is rendered significantly less interesting by the fact that pretty much every single Turn 0 kill listed here is just [insert Turn 1 Legacy deck kill] + [leyline]

This is mostly due to the fact that winning on turn 0 is extremely hard, and you need very specific fast mana (or other types of cards that simulate fast mana) to do so. These cards are often present in Legacy/Vintage combo decks.
Oh, great, you discovered turn 0 and 1 kills in EDH. That is what we needed and have been waiting so far. Please proceed to the vintage forums and leave my format alone. And take all the others of your kind, which play for winning as fast as possible, with you.
You play Lotus Petal, and mana crypt. You tap teh crypt and play Sol ring and Mana Vault. You tap the vault and sol ring to add 5 to your mana pool
You play Helm and have 1 floating. tap hep and pay 1 to exile a player deck before is draw... I guess its not really a turn 1 win against more than 1 player but meh.
(The key is just so you can do this a second and third time on your turn. Tap sol ring for 2. play key. 1 floating. Tap crypt, activate helm. Use 1 mana to untap helm, you now have 1 mana floating, activate helm again.)
Wit's End is the PERFECT answer to your opponent's Monomania however.
Just hold on to your Wit's End when they Monomania, so you can Wit's End them on your next turn!!!
I think this is fairly reminiscent of the "Jace Battles" we have seen in past standards.. My guess is we will soon witness the great Monomania-Wit's End battles.

Mana Crypt- into vault into Mox into S&T Tyrant into play. You have 2 colorless floating, drop your brass man, then use mana crypt/ mox bouncing through tyrant for infinite mana in your colors.
Sub Petal in for Mana vault, and ornithopter in for brass man. Eureka out the tyrant. Play ornithopter, bouncing chrome mox, play chrome mox bouncing ornithopter. Now this is my question part, when you play ornithopter, is it in play for metalcraft before you have to bounce the mox?

A funny one I heard about while ago off gatherer; it involves having an opening hand of Serra's Sanctum, Opalescence, and 5 Leyline cards.
Step 1. Begin the game with 5 Leylines on the battlefield.
Step 2. Go to turn 1, play Serra's Sanctum, tap for WWWWW and cast Opalescence
Step 3. Use your animated enchantments to swing for 20 damage.
Of course after I remembered this I realized it only works in 60 card, due to the higher life totals EDH. Doesn't make it any less hilarious though

calm down, edh is pretty much a watered down version of vintage, I will admit edh is the 1 format that actually does take deck building skill rather than a high budget and the internet. I might just be bias though.

Second of all, tell that to the people that created a format where Necropotence, Hermit Druid, Palinchron, Mana Crypt, Bazaar of Baghdad, Mishra's Workshop, Candelabra of Tawnos, Lion's Eye Diamond, Memory Jar, Doomsday, Demonic Tutor, and Vampiric Tutor are all perfectly legal cards. Some people just like to play Magic and have no interest in abiding by an entirely arbitrary social contract because they're afraid strangers might get butt-hurt.

What about Mana Vault instead of 2 other rocks? If you win on the spot, you don't need to untap. And the combo requires one card less this way
Leyline of the Void is out
Hand:
-Mana Crypt
-Voltaic key
-mana vault
-Helm of Obedience
-Sol ring
You play Lotus Petal, and mana crypt. You tap teh crypt and play Sol ring and Mana Vault. You tap the vault and sol ring to add 5 to your mana pool

Basalt Monolith
Sol Ring
Mesmeric Orb
Lotus Petal
Lion's Eye Diamond
--> Mill your Deck, by repeatedly tapping/untapping the Monolith.
Crack LED and Petal for 3W

Play Mana Crypt --> 2 --> Play Mana Vault --> 4
Play Krark-Clan Ironworks, sacrifice Mana Crypt and Mana Vault --> 4
Play Basalt Monolith and tap for mana --> 4
Play Rings of Brighthearth --> 1
Play Sol Ring and tap for mana --> 2
Sacrifice Sol Ring and Krark-Clan Ironworks --> 6
Untap Basalt Monolith and copy the ability tapping in between resolutions for mana --> Infinite Colorless Mana
Play Gemstone Array --> you now have Infinite Colored Mana
Play your General and mill everyone out, they'll die in their next draw step.
And here's how it works as turn 0 kill:
With Leyline of Anticipation in play
Mana Crypt --> 2
Grim Monolith --> 3
Mox Opal --> 3U
Lotus Petal --> 3UU
Power Artifact on Grim Monolith --> 3
Untap Grim Monolith for 2 tap for 3 and repeat ad infinitum --> infinite colorless mana
Play Gemstone Array to filter the Mana to U
then play Oona, Queen of the Fey from the Command Zone and proceed to mill everyone out.

If that creature is your general then this should work.
Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Chrome Mox, Show and Tell, Tidespout Tyrant and ... heck why not brass man for style points.
Mana Crypt- into vault into Mox into S&T Tyrant into play. You have 2 colorless floating, drop your brass man, then use mana crypt/ mox bouncing through tyrant for infinite mana in your colors.
Then you can cast your general. Niv Mizzet, Dracogenius, draw into countermagic then mill the table. Or if UG is your thing, cast prime speaker zegana a bunch and finish off with either Stroke of Genius'es regrowthed from bouncing eternal witness, or an infinite brain freeze with stifle backup.
Can someone tell me if this UG cousin of it works? I found a hole in my rules knowledge, I think this works, but not 100% sure.
