I'll give u some examples how this new rule cripples the format:
1. Rafiq - I clone it and swing with my flying general killing Rafiq's owner because of exalted and double strike.
I can think of answers to that in those colors. Fairly easily. And in the meantime, Rafiq's exalting my Blighted Agent to give you fourten poison counters.
4. Zegana - already mentioned, draw even more cards then general's owner.
Yeah, but that could be done under the old legend rule, since it's an ETB trigger.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!
So there are plenty of places to complain about the new ruling, but i'm interested in identifying new interactions that this revised legendary rule creates.
We know that this makes hexproof generals like Sigarda, Thrun, and Uril harder to deal with so lets focus on other net positives of the new rule change.
If Karrthus is cloned, the same thing happens as before - the cloner will gain control of Karrthus, so both will die.
Not quite. With the new legend rule, if you have two of the same legend, you pick one, and the others die. So you can pick your opponents Karrthus to live, kill your clone, and now control their general/goodstuff dude.
"I'll clone your general, and donate it to you! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA."
"Ok. State based actions kill your clone. Any other effort you'd like to waste?"
Lol whoops, guess I overlooked that.
On a note for something that does work, you can clone your Linessa, Zephyr Mage and then choose for the original to go to your grave. Then bring her back for repeated grandeur activations with cards likeSword of Light and Shadow. Add in other colors and you get more options for recursion/grandeur legends.
I don't like the new legendary rule. It enables some interesting plays, true, but shaking metagames with such a change after all those years of clones working the other way is ridiculous to me. It's like changing how combat damage works, but even stranger...
Who in the world and why came up with such an idea? Beats me...
Any official word from Commander Committee? Are we supposed to respect the rule change when it hits or does it stay the same in our format?
We're supposed to respect the rule. But then again, there are people who still play with Prime Titan even though it's banned.....
I seem to have the opposite opinion when it comes to "shaking up the meta", I enjoy the idea of breaking down old interactions and finding new ones. In a format like EDH it only makes things stranger, more complex, and unless you're ridiculously serious about a casual format, much funnier. I don't see the problem with the change.
Do you run Knowledge Pool in a non-Teferi deck? I would imagine if a Teferi player doesn't get Knowledge Pool out first, and you lock them out with your one clone first, then... it's kind of sad.
I like how this new rule lets you make some use out of Grandeur like was mentioned above. Sure it's not an amazing combination, AND it's clunky to get going. But at least it's not a dead ability in EDH anymore
EDH:
Currently Piloting:
Dama, Sage of Stone | Karador, Ghost Chieftan | Sigarda, Host of Herons | Elbrus, the Binding Blade / Withengar Unbound | Grand Arbiter Augustin IV | Genju of the Realm | Ruric Thar, the Unbowed
As long as you had A Graveyard clone, Grandeur was always viable. The only problem with Grandeur was the limited amount of legends that had it. The more and better Grandeur they make the better, even with the present legend rule. The new one will just make it easier to work with.

fourten poison counters. In Sheoldred's case, since her ability's already on the stack, he can just bring her back. It's an interesting potential for black blink.
And green doesn't have draw spells? In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but blue draw spells tend to be constants, while green's tend to be a creature-based variables (Garruk, Primal Hunter, Hunter's Insight, Collective Unconscious), though both get Curiosity-type effects.
Hmm...Now if only there were a really powerful artifact that drew cards.
Yeah, but that could be done under the old legend rule, since it's an ETB trigger.
On phasing:
That's actually not true. You have to choose a target for Sheoldred's reanimation ability before you sac anything.
They already do.

You should probably read the rule again.
