I'm surprised no one has mentioned the #1 artifact for this deck... Amulet of Vigor. It turns those gates from somewhat crappy enters tapped into original duals + ability to win with mazes end. (Well, actually they still stink compared to the original dual lands. But it still helps make them less awful.)

I've actually got this deck built right now, pretty much as suggested. Child of Alara as the general, every wrath I own, every tutor I own, Witchbane Orb, Feldon's Cane, and Elixir of Immortality for graveyard protection, plus all the green recursion spell - and about 4-5 counterspells for good measure. Deck hasn't lost yet, but it's a real pain to play against, and nobody has enjoyed it. Very effective in my meta, but I won't be playing it much. Oh, and yeah, also Amulet of Vigor, for sure.

Scapeshift looks like it's the key to winning with Maze's End; instead of wasting a bunch of slots in your deck looking for gates and mitigating their CitPT and protecting them from destruction, you instead can use much broader-scope cards (ie. counterspells, better tutors, generic ramp) to cast and protect Scapeshift with 11+ lands in play.
It definitely works.. I have already lost once to mazes end... we happened to be all playing slow control decks someone dropped tanglewire and it played into the mazes end decks game plan.
Here is an article over on SCG that mentions/uses a 5C Child of Alara deck with Maze being the win condition. Relatively fun read, especially if you have kids. The decklist is mostly an afterthought but it has some relatively reasonable ideas in it.
Take a look at the same thread I started a few weeks ago on the same subject:

I don't own Terra Eternal or Elspeth, Knight-Errant yet, or they'd be in the deck too.
Alternate win con is Vraska the Unseen. With all those board wipes, it's surprisingly easy to get his ultimate off.
It'd be very awesome if you could post your decklist Thanks in advance!

I draft and play EDH. If a Standard player can't understand who a card is for, it's probably for me.
I also write things about good films.
