I'm using PucaTrade to get second copies of everything in my cube. I'm almost at 5 decks that barely draw from it and have zero overlap. Once everything is nice and updated I'll fix my signature and make proper decklists.
I finally had to branch out to Cardsphere. Hated to do it as Puca has been very good to me but I needed to diversify. Getting foils is a lot tougher than nonfoils.
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Wasn't sure if this was the place for EDH Price discussions but...
Gwendolyn Di Corci went from $29 to $85 in one day a couple weeks ago. Is that just a Legends buyout?
It's a place for it. The most dedicated thread is in market street cafe. Gwendlyn in particular was probably part of the RL buyouts that were going on recently. It's not a card that's likely to ever see serious non-EDH play and I'd expect even EDH play is pretty rare with the available grixis options.

I am always hesitant to run cards like that because I just expect someone to Austere Command or something into it.
As is right and good. That's usually the reason I don't run it though. It's also a bad card if you're not doing something horrendously unfair with it, so it's not very appealing to me.
I'm considering trying out MTGO to get occasional competitive legacy/modern games in. Any of the MTGO regulars have words of wisdom before I pull the trigger? Planning on buylisting a bunch of stuff to Cape Fear for MTGOtraders credit, so I'll be able to put together a solid deck without having to spend much actual money on it.

Honestly.... MTGO is crap. I tried getting into it a while back but really.... its not a good client. I am still completely in the dark as to what Arena is going to be but I would suggest looking into that and seeing what its going to be before pulling the trigger on MTGO. I have no idea if MTG Arena is going to be directly competing or if its going to be some sort of variant though. Its worth looking into first though.

I considered just waiting for Arena, but is likely to be a tough sell if I'm primarily interested in legacy based on what we know about it so far. WotC has already said the focus is going to be on "the newest cards and game modes," which I would interpret as draft and standard - the two formats I'm least interested in. Even if they do have eternal support, I'd be extremely surprised if they had the entire card pool at launch or even in the first few years. I'm not a big fan of the Arena look and feel from the streams out there so far either. It seems like there's more of a focus on making it look more dynamic, which I don't care about, at the expense of showing less information by default, which I do. Arena feels like it's aimed at a very different type of player than me.
The big draw to MTGO is that I can basically play a competitive legacy event one round at a time as I feel like it. My local weekly is on a night where I have standing plans and it's very rare for me to be able to dedicate 4-5 hours going late into the night even when I can make the events. Breaking it into smaller pieces at times when I'm available is big, even with the admittedly terrible interface.

Yea, focusing only on standard sounds like the biggest mistake they could make. Honestly I am just going to wait and see what comes of it. I just have a LOT of concerns when it comes to MTGO because its such an unstable / bad platform.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I am always hesitant to run cards like that because I just expect someone to Austere Command or something into it.
Oddly, I don't see that much mass destruction in my meta,I guess I could also run Aura Thief but then again that's what would expected since I've ran that combo before.
And sicne it's my birthday (turn 32) my brother got me one of those visa gift cards which means I can no order some cards. WOOT!
This latest shooting has really gotten me in a funk. It's my own fault because I'm actually paying attention to the news and it depresses and maddens me to see how unwilling the right is to budge. Reading the comments section of Fox News doesn't help things either.

Those posting to Fox News are generally the most extreme case people. Its kind of like how your average commander player is not often represented by those who post to a magic forum.
I would also say that the unwillingness to budge is more of NRA's doing. Its true that most republican representatives do back the NRA but that is a very complicated mix of things including funding, voters, as well as possibly personal beliefs.
I do consider myself to be conservative and gun rights is something I would be willing to negotiate and move the line on, but its also in part that the NRA has a hard line of don't touch that makes it hard to really come to a middle ground.

This is my public response of not responding, because I know that if I continue it won't end until there is red text.
Man I haven't been here in a long time. How is everyone? Anything interesting going on? I keep sort of expecting mtgsalvation to get shut down due to lack of popularity. But it looks like it's still here. I personally haven't been invested in mtg all that much as of late. In the past few months to a year I've basically only played with 1 other person aside from a pre-release or 2. I know I want to fix my Wrexial deck that doesn't really do anything except kill ***** and make the game last much longer than it should.

I'd give it a shot. The interface is bad and you'll lose a lot of games to misclicks when you start but it plays Magic, handles all the rules and leagues/general play testing is very convenient. Decks are also substantially cheaper but it's still an investment. I'm more than happy to run through some games and show you around if you want to get started.

I might take you up on that. So far I've just done one of the new player drafts. Still trying to figure out which legacy deck is most appealing and mostly in the budget I'm looking at, or if I can pull off 2 decks, before I commit to buylisting stuff.

That depends on: A)whether you want to use equipment or not, and B)whether you want commander damage to be a win-con. Either could be viable.
I'm thinking voltron
Probably best to commandeer the deck with Akiri, then. Jor-Kadeen can be one of the 99(in fact, I'd strongly urge you to do so), but if you suit up Akiri, commander damage becomes very real. Be ready to protect her and your artifacts, though; you will be very visible as far as your gameplan, but you may be able to outrace people damage-wise.
