I agree, it irks me for some reason I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe because it's the same concept as reading a passage in a book that says 'he lol'd' instead of 'he laughed out loud'. They say the same thing, but one has some finesse and the other doesn't.
I don't think that's it. I think the problem is that adding is a function that requires 2 quantities and "add 1 mana" doesn't mention what you're adding it to. If you walk up to someone and tell them to add 1, they'll have to ask what to add it to. I don't think it's a common language formatting issue because if you ask someone what a mountain is, they'll never say "it adds a red." They might say "it adds a red to your mana pool," but the most common descriptor I hear for mana production is "it makes red". Produce, make, generate... they're are tons of options for verbs that people actually use to describe tapping for mana that they could have picked that would have sounded clean and not required the phrase "to your mana pool," add just isn't one of those options.
This pretty well sums it up. Produce, generate, make, any of these would work.
I've actually enjoyed this spoiler season over the usual ones putting all the awesome in week 1 and chaff in week 2.
I prefer it spread over two weeks just because it feels like everything is rushed in one week. Sometimes I overlook cards because I get less time to process things. Also I help add the cards to the database and its freaking hell to get everything added in one week.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I probably enjoy it too much if I'm sewing plushies in between my turns in Friday night events.
Those turns must be taking forever then if you're able to sew between turns. Either that, or you just sew incredibly quickly. Either way, that's impressive.
I'm thinking about taking a part my oloro ageless ascetic pillowfort deck and just going with a Daxos of Meletis solider/ i steal and play your stuff build
Here's a question for the moderators among us - say I wanted to make a thread detailing my deckbuilding process, using a specific deck as an example, where the focus is on generating discussion about the process of how people put decks together, but by using a practical example, necessitated a decklist at the end. Would that be inappropriate for the main forum?

Just, put a link to the actual deck instead of the decklist. If you put a decklist into the thread it will be considered a decklist and be moved.

I finally got hold of an Iconic Masters Mana Drain and with it, completed my entire Raymond Swanland collection. There has been no cards with new art from him since Dominaria (the last card was the new-art Elvish Archdruid from the final Duel Decks). It's quite notable because I'm pretty sure there has been a card with a new art of his in every Standard set ever since Shards of Alara* (including Core Sets). With Dominaria-Battlebond-M19 not featuring any new arts, I'm considering ending my collection process here even if new cards come out in the future since the streak in by itself seems like a good excuse for future questions.
*Prior to Shards of Alara, Raymond Swanland only had done art for three cards (Fomori Nomad, Pact of the Titan and the Junior Series Glorious Anthem... and I'm not sure of the exact release date of the last one in comparison with Shards of Alara because of its history). Not counting the third, the other two are from Future Sight, which means only one block (Lorwyn-Shadowmoor) was between it and Shards of Alara. Almost a perfect streak (I have all 3 cards), but it isn't hard to figure out Lorwyn-Shadowmoor as probably one of the planes contrasting his style the most (Okay, one might say Bablovia, but hey Animate Library made it through...)
Part of me wants to get my Wall of junk altered to look like the barricade from les mis, the other part of me wonders under what conditions would i play it?
I'm tempted to put it in my Akiri, Line-Slinger deck and then attach all of the equipment to it,since it doesn't have defender never mind that the oracle text give it defender
I know..but it would have been funny to attach all kinds of equipment to it
You still can.
But now I can't attack with it unless I attached Animate Wall or Rolling Stones or Warmonger's Chariot which i'd have to buy and since they all under a dollar ( not counting the unlimited of animate) I may just pick up all three in a couple of weeks if I can't find a chariot in my group.
Also part of me wants to get Wall of Caltrops just to see if i can make the local judge's head explode...
So, my wife and I are leaving the movie theater last night and some middle school looking young men are dancing in the parking lot. I kind of laugh and point over at them and tell her.... they are doing "orange justice" and she looks at me suuuuuuper random. Then I explain that its from fortnite and she gets mad at me because she doesn't know these things.
After that she asked me several random questions about other dances and several of them I confirm are from fortnite lol.

I just watched this and felt like sharing. I am fairly certain I would have been one of those completely freaking out if I was in their shoes.

Left: My old plushy made nine months ago
Right: The plush doll that I completed today. I feel like I've improved quite a lot since then.

Awesome stuff! There's definite improvement, too. Nice way to keep productive outside of your turns.
