Apparently I misunderstood what I need to do to get the bonus free character skin. I need to complete all of the challenges from 7/10 weeks not 10/10 weeks. I can just wait and do another week's challenges I guess. The 7th week of challenges rolled out this last week and I almost have those wrapped up so I will just wait another week and I should be fine.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Eyyy that's better. Yeah, I don't do much interacting either except with people I already know. (And even then, it is hard to get me to want to do that unless it is like a competition). Glad you have a better chance of getting your rewards

I actually built Godo, Bandit Warlord. Rather than trying to suit him up to do kills, I use him to fetch whatever utility I actively need at the time. There are efficient equipment options for ramping, drawing cards, getting haste, or even stabilizing against attacks or being able to get 2 blockers at once. Sword of the Animist is particularly ridiculous when you attack twice in a turn. I don't go very far into his standard equipment theme because I think going too far into it flat out makes your deck bad. Every equipment that doesn't have a creature to attach to is effectively a dead card, and the more you have (as well as the higher the equip cost), the more dead cards you may end up with. I cut the number down to six core options and seven total.
I loaded it with tons of card draw or other advantage effects, and in the games where people aren't playing their optimized decks, it is surprisingly stable and will never get completely shut out of the game as if I can't get rid of players quickly I can still keep up in cards and options.
Oh! That sounds pretty cool, actually. I'm glad you found a way to make him work for you, and that you're having a good time. I've been making burn decks with Neheb, and man do I not usually enjoy mono-red, but this is great

I built Squee, the Immortal and it has been very impressive and fun to build. Its funny because I get this like.... your commander is what ever time soneone new sits down but then everyone else is horrified and trying to murder me so its funny the change from confusion and assuming my deck is bad to them trying to archenemy murder me lol.
I built mine around cost reducing Squee down to R per cast and then I loop the hell out of him and use ETB / Death matters effects like Purphoros and Flayer of the Hatebound to murder people with Squee. Its been really a lot of fun to build and figure out.

I need to look at your Squee build. Those always interest me, and you're one of few names I remember very distinctly from the last time I was regular here. I could have sworn you had another primer. Toshiro?

Soooooooo, I have been playing fortnite recently. I am kind of an anti social fps player and while that is fine, they gave a weekly challenge a few weeks ago for the battle pass which requires 4 players to dance in the same room on opposite corners of the room. I.... essentially don't know anyone else who plays so if anyone else plays / will help me out please let me know. I play on PC myself.
Nothing annoys me more than a challenge that requires you to not be an introverted nerd.....
One of my daughter's friends plays. I can get you her player info if you want to befriend a ten year old girl.

Squee has been a lot of fun. It has played very differently from anything else I have ever built and while its sort of a combo deck, I like that I run no infinites.

This is something that would be my style, but I kind of already have a deck that loops things and that would be Marchesa, the Black Rose, but instead of looking Squee I perform Arcbound Ravager loops.

Your Jenara primer was approaching legend status. Nowhere near Gaka of course, but still really popular.
That primer was fantastic. I've never played bant, but this is one primer I followed for a while with an eye to building.
Squee the Immortal sounds interesting. I had a feeling there was something there, but I'm generally apprehensive of mono-red. I had Krenko built for a while but damn it got boring quick. I'm trying out Daretti presently, time will tell if it sticks around.
I didn't think I would care about the mana template change, but I was wrong. "Add one mana." is really stupid.
I agree, it irks me for some reason I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe because it's the same concept as reading a passage in a book that says 'he lol'd' instead of 'he laughed out loud'. They say the same thing, but one has some finesse and the other doesn't.

I don't think that's it. I think the problem is that adding is a function that requires 2 quantities and "add 1 mana" doesn't mention what you're adding it to. If you walk up to someone and tell them to add 1, they'll have to ask what to add it to. I don't think it's a common language formatting issue because if you ask someone what a mountain is, they'll never say "it adds a red." They might say "it adds a red to your mana pool," but the most common descriptor I hear for mana production is "it makes red". Produce, make, generate... they're are tons of options for verbs that people actually use to describe tapping for mana that they could have picked that would have sounded clean and not required the phrase "to your mana pool," add just isn't one of those options.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
It's weird because as a veteran the concept of a mana pool isn't hard to grok, even though it's a not really a thing. So I get why they would want to get rid of needless verbiage. But like you guys said, now the instinctual reaction is "Add it to what?"
Like, I think the way I would have attempted to reword it is "draw one mana", since the idea is that you as a wizard are drawing the mana from the land or artifacts into yourself, which you then channel to some end. But of course, draw already has a very distinct meaning so that would create more confusion than it could get rid of.
I think the word "Produce" could have been fine, we already basically use it to mean that. Idk tbh I understand wanting to minimalize and all but it's so weird to see it thrown out.

This would be enough for me to stop playing the game. If it requires interaction I'm not comfortable with, no thanks.
I assume a casual, non-combo oriented meta?

I have made and killed a lot of primers in my time lol. Jenara, Asura of War was a big one of mine for years with a lot of discussion and a long thread life. I also did primers for Marton Stromgald, Thrun, the Last Troll, Toshiro Umezawa, and Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero to name a few lol.
