Also how about that Standard ban list uodate? There's 7 cards banned in standard right now
I don't play Standard, — haven't for a long time — but from a layperson's perspective, I honestly have no idea what Wizards is doing. Like, it isn't that I don't think the bans are justified. I have no idea if that's the case or not. I'm just thinking to myself, "what happened?" Why are so many cards suddenly being banned now? Standard never used to be like this, and from a distant perspective like mine, nothing seems to have overtly changed, so I have no idea why things are like the way they are now.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it...WotC is claiming to try and curb energy(Temur and one other) decks from being so powerful by banning cards that 'cantrip + energy'(Attune with Aether and Rogue Refiner). But even beyond that, their explanation for Rampaging Ferocidon is half-assed, and Ramunap Ruins really shouldn't have come about; looking at it, I can see how easily abusable that thing is.
Playtesting really needs to step it up, or WotC needs to back off of new mechanics for a while, that's my thought.
But yeah, s("Stuff, he said stuff") like this is why I'm glad I don't play Standard anymore.

They've made a change in their philosophy towards banning things in Standard. It used to be, like, "only use in case of emergencies." But now they'll do it any time they think it'll make a format better. It's not that they've suddenly made a ton of mistakes and now Standard is worse than it's ever been. If they had the same banning philosophy in past standard environments, we'd have seen bans there too.

Fortunately Wizards has proven that all the changes they make are for the better and are based on solid long term goals. They're totally not just grasping at straws for a quick fix. Nope.

does anyone else have varying power level in theri decks/different power level of decks to match their play group(s)? I'd say my Sharuum deck is not like cEDH levels of power but I've put a fair amount into it, Yidris is good but not well tuned (people still find it pretty good though) and Sidisi Brood tyrant which is meant to be silly (and my pretty recent deck which I decided to build for something different).
Reasons why i did this was because I found myself getting targeted a lot in games because my decks were usually one of the best at the table and one of the main groups that plays a lot of commander around here is pretty casual. Then I realized having 3 decks with different power levels could be kinda interesting

I mostly just build terrible decks and don't worry about it. I've been playing with more or less the same group for 5+ years at this point, though. We're pretty well dialed in to where we want to be.
Tried Kopi Luwak (from a place that prides itself on fair trade coffee, so I'm reasonably sure they did their homework on the origin and it was ethically collected) for the first time this morning. It's interesting coffee. It's not particularly good coffee, but it's interesting.
Having to wait for the plates of the new car for almost two weeks really sucks. Especially when you don't have another one and there is a three day weekend ahead and you were planning to go for a trip. #1stworldproblems
Picked up a Dralnu, Lich Lord tonight with the intent of dipping my toes into the world of UB decks. I jumped between wanting to build a High Tide list or Storm, but I think I'm just going to do UB control(?) with Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal as a wincon.
What's your favorite way to win a game of commander? I like slowing down a game and eventually drawing my deck to find whatever card wins me the game in the coolest way, occasionally using 2 different methods in one game when one would have worked just fine because I want to show off the interaction I found. For example, with infinite mana and spell casts, I might mill someone out with stroke of genius for 100, then turn to another player, and reality shift their entire library instead of casting stoke of genius for 100 again because I think reality shift is cool.
So I guess this is the place where it would be appropriate to introduce myself after having started to post here a while ago and planning to continue to contribute here.
So! I am from Munich, Germany. I am 27 years old and go to grad school for Philosophy&Economics in a small Bavarian University town called Bayreuth, focusing on empirical labor economics, development economics, and stuff that has to do with data. I started playing around Scourge/8th Edition and never stopped. Built my first Commander deck (Bladewing the Risen) after lucking out and grabbing a From the Vault: Dragons for the actual MSRP at my local game store. It sucked though, and my first real deck was Riku of Two Reflections. Been playing nothing but Commander ever since (and a bit of Limited every now and then). Riku is still my flagship deck, but now has to compete with 13 other decks for play time. I also like playing other games (Age of Mythology, Dominion), seeing other countries, working out/dancing, and good books. Happy to be here!

Still convinced the guy on Beseech the Queen is wearing a Mitra-type hat. Wake up sheeple!
I just realized i never really introduced myself here. Maybe i should, since i'm rather active lately...
I'm an '88 born EDH-fanatic from Freiburg, Germany. I started out playing casual MTG with Onslaught in 2002 and after a hiatus from Eventide in 2008 until late 2012 i stumbled into some guys playing commander and couldn't keep myself from being drawn into it. I'm in grad school studying to become a primary teacher and when i'm not satisfying my cardboard addiction, i'm usually mountainbiking, playing pen & paper or enjoying post-hardcore concerts.
Since my nickname is rather long, feel free to call me Luke.
Oh, and "grüaß di" to my fellow bavarian countryman.

Griaß eahna Gott! Be prepared to be challenged to a commander game the next time I am close to Freiburg. ;-)

While updating my decklists i was wondering if i was just too blind to find it or if there really isn't any way of sorting my lists alphabetically in the deckbuilder.
Anyone smarter than me/more capable of using the board search?

Dunno if it's permanent or not, but just click on Deck Name in your Decks list. See the attached pic(assuming it uploads right)...
Oh, sorry, not what i meant. I was refering to this hot mess:
It's a huge pain in the prolonged spine to sift through lists that way.
And while it could be considered thoughtful to put Iroas, God of Victory in the category "Enchantment", Duplicant and Solemn Simulacrum should be under "Creature" in my book. "Basic Land" is a bit misleading, too.
Still, i gotta say, i like the Deckbuilder.
I too was contentious at the listing of some of the cards...it's not WRONG, just not how *I* list them. Ah well...I like seeing the projected mana curve and all the other stats at a glance, personally...makes it easy to see how balanced(or not) you are in the important areas. Definitely a worthy include, just needs a bit more polish.
Is there a place anywhere on the internet to discuss MTGO 1v1 Commander? It's not clear where (if anywhere) it's being discussed on mtgsal, and I am unable to find discussion elsewhere. Also, when is the banlist to be updated for the format, and why did the event frequency drop from one per day to twice per week?
