I'd give it a shot. The interface is bad and you'll lose a lot of games to misclicks when you start but it plays Magic, handles all the rules and leagues/general play testing is very convenient. Decks are also substantially cheaper but it's still an investment. I'm more than happy to run through some games and show you around if you want to get started.
Went for it. Bought into a modern RW Norin list to try out the league structure because that deck is a ton of fun. Playing through a friendly league now. The interface is a little bit of a pain, but it's manageable. I'll probably buylist stuff next week and pick up something more legacy competitive.
No immediate plans to build EDH, but I'll have the cards at some point by virtue of playing eternal formats.

You'll get used to it. F6 and F8 are your friends. Also make sure you have all your stops set like you want them.
EDH is really hit or miss. There will often be someone with a broken deck in the games but there's still some fun games to be had. I haven't played myself since they meseed up the banlist but I think things are fixed now.

I am slowly seeing more and more of that broken as hell combo stuff around. Its not really in my meta but just traveling around I am seeing more of it. I really don't like it as the current banned list is not at all fit for that level of play so they almost need to like.... go play some other format or make their own banned list that is built for that. I also don't like it because multiplayer does NOT scale well into that style of play.
I went to play a modern FNM event at a city about an hour from me and before it started I was watching 3 people playing and their games kept ending on like turns 2-5. I don't see the appeal for that in a multiplayer format.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.

I still need to play with some of the stops, but it honestly hasn't been too bad after playing through a couple leagues. I've made a couple of the expected errors like clicking through combat or a planned response. It's been really nice to semi-automate the volume of triggers a modern Norin deck generates. It's going to make me lazy if I ever decide to play the deck in paper again.
EDH has always been a little more social for me so taking it online isn't super appealing. I'll put together a deck just in case I get the itch, it's just likely to sit unused most of the time.

I think that style of play is fine as long as everyone is on the same page but it's pretty miserable when 1 guy has a broken deck and the others have a casual deck.

Yea someone came in from Seattle last week to my meta and played like a T3 or T4 Grenzo Doomsday deck. I was not very pleased when they gave us no indication that they were playing something that level.

Exactly that. I think competitive EDH can be plenty fun with the current banlist, but online play certainly does not cater itself to communication or putting everyone on the same page, power-level wise, despite the easier access to cards.
I just don't see why to play at that level with the multiplayer banned list. None of the cards make any sense from that level of play. It really almost needs to be a new format otherwise why have any cards on the banned list / use a banned list anyways because none of the current banned list is geared to that style of meta.
Like.... I actually think that perhaps Braids / Refelos / Leovold should be playable commanders in that level of play. Really.... it makes no sense to play the multiplayer banned list for that level of play. The offenders of that style of format are going to be a question of what is the fastest and least self destructive combo that can be assembled the fastest. There is also the question of fast mana and tutors as well which could all be examined from that level of play. I am not saying that there is any one card I can pick out that should be banned in that style of a meta / gameplay but it just doesn't make sense to me to use the multiplayer commander banned list for playing games like that.

To remove fast mana/cheap tutors from CEDH would completely change the nature of that format. From where I'm sitting, it doesn't make any sense to play "casual" EDH with the current multiplayer banlist with those things legal. But perhaps that's too on-topic for the off-topic thread...
Regardless, I think the most important thing is to find people who enjoy the same things you enjoy, which definitely doesn't happen on MODO, that was my point.
so, I have a question before me: Do I order a number of cheap ( price wise) equipment cards and my commander along with a few other cards that i would need but don't have or do I just order my commander two other cards and the cheapest sword of x and y....
I do love the full art lands and it looks like I may be bale to order two or at least one of the swords of x and y...just need to figure out which one....
EDIT: I'm also digging the hair style and coloring on Spike, Tournament Grinder I know one of the unsets had johnny combo player, but did the other have a card like that?

As long as you go and hype in the corner by yourself I am fine with it.
NEVER!!!!
but on a hype note: I'm really interested in slaying mantis for my peasant cube as it honestly should be a lot of fun and if I need it to be a semi-split second fight target creature if I have non-hyped and fun players like you )

That card looks legit.
I have to admit, so far I've found at least one card in each color that I could add to my cube.
I don't want my players to constantly have to be thinking about where their cards are positioned on the battlefield all the time just because of one card.
This spoiler season is exciting for me since I have a couple Cubes. A lot of the cards are very parasitic but there's enough fun stuff that I already have a list of includes. Rakdos as a guild is already going to get a lot more fun in my multi Cube.
I imagine if you're only concerned with EDH this spoiler is more of a headache than anything else, though.
