I can't decide if I want to swap out Tariel for Mathas in my cube. I already have Marchesa 2.0 as a political general in those colors, so maybe not? I am building a Mathas deck which I'll start playing next month, so I guess I'll see how that goes before I make any final decisions. The one game I've played so far with him heading the precon seemed interesting though.
I would go with Tariel but thats in part because I dont feel like either are really going to have much to build arround in an EDH cube. How does one even build arround Mathas anyways? I like Tariel for just the standalone threat more so and you can just push kind of a control / midrange strategy.

And you.... make room for Bounty Hunter in a cube???
Super unrelated but I finally bought an elliptical. It showed up at the house Tuesday (magic night) so last night while my wife was still working I hauled it into the basement and assembled it. When my wife saw it she was just like.... how did you get it downstairs lol (box was 200+ lb). It was not pleasant by any means. On the upside though now I can be entertained and work on not being a fat ass. I have always had an issue that working out outside or in a gym I just get freaking bored. I like watching anime and movies and ***** when I work out. Other interesting facts, I apparently have what I would assume is an 8' ceiling in my basement. At the top of my stride I apparently hit the ceiling so I had to take out a ceiling tile and my head bobs up through the ceiling as I work out lol. I will not be using that incline option.
In Dragon Warrior after I rescued the princess she would ask if I loved her and I always told her no but she kept telling me I had to so eventually I would cave and say yes. But really I was lying.
Capture of Jingzhou reprint as judge promo upcoming. That puts me closer to having most EDH cards out there, even if I almost never play time magic.
That's good to know though I doubt I need the 3rd Time Warp for many decks.
Been loving the X Com 2 expansion. The Chosen are fun to fight without being OP, I'm just about to raid the stronghold of the first one and am very close on a second. Being able to hold alt to see what you can target seems like cheating but there also plenty of situations where it's not clear. It's something I use sparingly but like having the feature available. All the new classes are great if a bit broken. Some of the higher level faction abilities seem a bit much like I just had one that made the contact time instantaneous so I grabbed 2 new areas right before the supply drop. I did run into super berserker when I attacked one of the facilities but wasn't as bad as I remembered.

I felt like some of the new stuff broke the late game a little bit. I ran through on a normal difficulty, normal playthrough before my usual ill-fated ironman runs to figure out some of the new mechanics (didn't go through all of the earlier DLC when it came out either, so it was a very different game) and I still haven't even finished the game. I've just been flying around and seeing if I could research everything/pick up more bonuses from the covert ops and breakthroughs. Some of that is the lower difficulty, some of it is that my units are things like a melee focused ranger with 20 movement, most of the abilities in the tree picked up, serial out of the sniper tree, and a sword that is a guaranteed hit that bypasses armor. Or the aforementioned broken sniper. Looking forward to the upcoming ironman run once I stop playing around with skyrim mods for a while.
I love that the point system opens up interesting ability interactions a little more reliably than the original random cross-class abilities. Things like the auto-hunker down if you don't attack + the accuracy bonus if you hunkered down last turn. They were around before and there's still a luck element to it but it feels much more customizable now. I also figured out that you want your low combat intelligence characters to be psychic after I used a genius for the first one.

That's a good tip my Psionics lab is currently under construction!
Yep. They don't have access to bonus skills and the points are entirely wasted. I really liked specialists as high combat intelligence characters. Absolutely killer support characters when you get access to both guaranteed damage and ranged healing.

Yeah the reapers are pretty nuts, basically a much better scout than the Ranger but no melee. The free claymore is great and being able to explode vehicles is situationaly amazing.
I've definitely had fights where the reaper was the most valuable unit on the field without ever firing a shot. The information advantage they give you is insane.
