Just got finished being on a jury. Two week long trial. Was one of many people a little surprised to be selected (mothet is a public defender in the same city), but it was interesting enough.

I served on a 3 day trial a couple years ago and it was terrible timing for my job but an otherwise interesting experience. My fellow jurors were surprisingly reasonable people. It gave me some confidence that if I was ever accused of a crime I would get a fair shake form the jury.

I was excused from Jury Duty since I had been called during the time frame when I was stuck in a wheelchair before my hip replacement.

There was actually a lot of dialog in deliberations, including the people who didn't agree with the group (civil case, doesn't need to be unanimous). It was a nice change of pace from American media/politics. Also stuck around to chat with the defense attorneys afterwards and getting their thoughts on the case, jury selection, etc. was probably the most interesting part of the whole experience.

I just got excused from Jury Duty last Monday. Going to be in my last year of law school in the Fall. It's kind of sad that at the point in my life I would be most interested in serving on a jury, the attorneys in the case are also sure to never allow me to make it through selection.

so, I just got done watching Escape From New York and I realized that they must have moved the Statue of Liberty at some point from it's island since the 69th street bridge connects to it's location. There's also the fact that Snake arrives via bus.

I have decided to do a rewrite of my book that I E-Published back in 2014, mainly the ending will be fixed along with a few minor details.

I made my first purchase into MTGO, you guys. I can't to get off of Cockatrice for good. It's such a horrible place and I'm sick of being there. MTGO is great though: I was able to buy the first eighty-something cards for my Elesh Norn deck for like eighteen dollars. Could even have been less bit I wanted to get some of the money rares out of the way. Sucks that I'll have live without Crucible or Ulamog for a while, though.

Still! I'm excited to be hanging with the cool kids now. I'm gonna write a brand-new primer for Elesh Norn and everything. The old thread is.. god.. several years old at this point. I think the last post there was like 2012.

So happy to finally be upgrading my trusty Norn deck to the big times. Already looking forward to the day when I can put her together in paper.

edit On second thought, EDH actually kind of sucks and I'm regretting spending all of that money. :/

I've been tempted by MODO before, but I don't think I would ever go for EDH on there. Way too lazy to build a "playgroup" and don't want to deal with whoever shows up. I can't really justify maintaining an online collection of any size with how much I've sunk into paper, either.

Speaking of, I cleaned up the stacks of cards on my desk, sorted through a few old purchases, and realized I should do that more often. I had a playset of Food Chain that I had forgotten about just hanging out.

MTGO was cool for a while, but the longer they went without making actual improvements to playing there, the less enjoyable it became.

So, Marchesa, the Black Rose has long been my favorite deck. I recently got all my shocks and most of my fetches. I've put a ton of Judge Foils I've gotten from the program in it. I recently hit the point where I am 3 cards short of having the exact best list I want from it. I love this deck so much.

But... I've been thinking a lot lately about how much fun I would have with a deck that has this same theme of very high value creature, putting counters on them, then recurring them, but in 4 color not white instead of Grixis. So, I have considered making that deck with enough tutors to regularly get Marchesa out so that even if she isn't my commander literally, she still is in spirit. But, that feels like I'm betraying my favorite deck (I kind of personify them a little.) Also, it kind of feels like I wasted my time tuning that deck and trading for it if I just stop using it.

Thoughts?

I played a lot of MTGO about 10 years back when I was working overnights. It always seemed like a ripoff but when I was up all hours of the night it was nice to draft occasionally. Mostly played Pauper and budget Standard decks in the casual room. Lost interest when I changed shifts and they "updated" the client (version 3 maybe) and it was nearly unplayable. Doesn't seem like they've made any significant improvements since I left.

I am working on selling my house right now as a for sale by owner because I dont have enough equity to sell it by realtor. On top of that I am getting married in 2 weeks. I am also moving 200 miles away in 3 weeks. My life has some stress right now....

I'm eating pizza. So, yeah. Lot going on in my life right now.

I just realized the face (regular-sized) Commanders of the Anthology set are foiled (been out of the loop for supplementary products for a while)... and one of them is Freyalise... who happens to be the only planeswalker-Commander I'm running as the Commander... and the only Commander I have non-foiled (except for Animar, but I had it altered so it passes).

It's not going to reverse my "planeswalkers in my Commander decks will not foiled because I want to play with all 5 2014 Commanders and Ugin's Fate Ugin", but Freyalise is the only specific case of overlapping with "Commanders have to be foiled" and since the opportunity presented itself...

I hope my LGS is opening the Anthology so I can get singles... (definitely not getting the sealed product especially when the Arsenal Kaalia is still in my binder...)

If I had a foil Zedruu, I could probably take the 30 or so foils in my deck out for even trying to compare to the goat queen.

What sort of things? And how do they compare to the things you'd do for a Klondike bar?

Anyone got an EDH deck double sleeved in Perfect Fits inside Ultra Pro Eclipse outers? I'm looking for dimensions on it. My cube is 450 cards + roughly 200 lands and tokens, and I'm looking to resleeve the whole shebang in the scheme above and am looking to order a custom box, and I need dimensions.

For Zedruu, I would gladly set a record for the most I've ever spent on a card, which is currently about $35. A single Klondike bar is more like $.50. So whatever I would do for a Klondike Bar, I'd do 70 times that for a foil zedruu.

As I've learned on many occasions, getting up and walking to the fridge and back is sometimes more effort than I care to put into acquiring a single Klondike Bar, so that must be near the exact limit of what I'd do. So I would get off the couch, do a mundane task, and then sit back down 70 consecutive times for a foil zedruu, which I think means I would spend a day watching terrestrial television with a stupid antenna that just won't stay in the right position.
