Man I'm glad I don't play Standard. As usual. The last couple rounds of bannings have really given them a black eye.
That, and the way they handled this last banning. Can you imagine the butthurt(and rightfully so, in all honesty) of the people who bought Saheeli and/or Felidars over the last two days, thinking the combo was safe?
Wow, in the wake of WotC's recent ban, that comic is even MORE true!
I tend to think of cards (and actions regarding other formats) with regards to EDH and when I saw the announcement I recalled this comic and was already thinking "In there was an EDH equivalent this would mean Tooth and Nail is getting banned today..."
I know I'm a bit (!) late on this topic, but speaking of the forum/Curse update, anyone else find the mobile version of the site all but completely unusable?
I am new to this, if this is not where I am to ask a question please inform me. Thank you.
I have been playing magic for a few years now and I've built many decks. Just last week I started the challenge of building a 5 color deck with absolutely no basic lands. Does anyone have any tips or pointers for me so as my deck will run smoother?

Avoid playing against people who like to run Back to Basics and Ruination.
In reality, it is trivially easy to build a 5c deck without basic lands (assuming you can afford duals, shocks, and fetches). Even if you can't, there are plenty of lands and rocks out there to fix your mana requirements, but it will probably come at the cost of being a turn behind everyone because of all the CIPT lands you'll play.

Mana rocks or having a higher focus on Green will both allow for mana smoothing. Either way you'll be wanting a Chromatic Lantern.

If you have money / access to good cards the landbase often starts like this.
From here you can improvise a little. Most who can afford it will start with the above 20 before anything else. Beyond this is a little more forgiving. I personally usually suggest shocklands then perhaps filter lands. Adding the shocklands in there keeps you from running out of targets for the fetchlands.
Overall, most avoid 5 color for a few reasons. The biggest two reasons are usually 1) its expensive to field a good landbase and 2) most of the legends are tribal or just kind of goodstuff.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I would highly recommend adding Exotic Orchard as the next best card before any other land in a 4/5 color deck. In multiplayer games, the Orchard consistently produces 3+ colors with no downside. Even in the rare event that it only produces two colors, it's still identical to an OG dual land. In many cases you'll find it produces all five colors.

Depends on the manabase. You don't need anything too impressive before it's not much better than Shimmering Grotto/various functional copies and I'm not entirely sure I like it more than Rupture Spire in general. There are definitely times where it's going to be better, you're just not going to see them often unless you build a deck around finding this particular card. I'm picking one up anyways, but I honestly don't have any homes for it in mind. Good for Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper.

If anyone was considering taking really terrible care of their teeth for several years, I would advise against it. Turns out all of my childhood dentists weren't full of it when they told me to floss after all.

A lot of it's genetics. My wife gets so mad at me because she brushes twice a day, flosses, and goes to the dentist religiously only get a cavity every time. Meanwhile I go maybe once a year and brush once a day, almost never floss, and my dentist tells me every time I visit that my teeth are prefect

Definitely a genetic component, but I feel comfortable saying that several years worth of basically brushing my teeth when they felt like they could use it had an impact. My current issues are all gum and bone related, the actual teeth are in pretty good shape.
