Wow, PucaTrade continues it's decline. People there are now offering a 30% 50% bounty on wants.
And still having to wait. My break even point is getting another $240 worth of cards and I have about $600 worth of points to do it with so my bounty has been climbing and I've expanded my wants quite a bit. I got a flurry of packages a week ago but nothing since. It feels like a pyramid scheme that is finally collapsing. I hope they get the economy fixed at some point because I do like the new site.

I won't pretend to understand the detailed economics behind it, but I never understood the idea of points being devalued. As long as card values are being defined by third party sources that aren't tied to the economy, a PucaPoint will always have an set "worth". Now, I understand that there is a perceived value to those points, such as I have to spend $3 to mail cards and therefore the points I get are worth less, and I also understand that the site artificially inflates the economy through claims and sign up bonuses.
So while I support them taking points out of the economy with their new insurance program (which I fully support) and other "customizations" to the profile, the appearance they have given by their drastic methods is that if you want to be seen you need a gold membership. And now without that visibility of lower tier users there suddenly isn't the card flow that people have come to expect. And as users start to leave the site, this becomes worse and that can be seen with drastic bounties. People in turn see those and since they can't compete with everyone who offers a bounty, they decide to jump ship as well.
Unrelated, 7-11 has a "brookie" which is half brownie and half cookie, and it's every bit as delicious as you would imagine.
Can only speak for myself, but i have a very decent Puca flow in and out, even without Bounties.
I will stick around for sure. And even if it really collapses indefinately one day and i might loose 20-50$ "worth" of PucaPoints i'll be happy looking at all these treasures i was able to get (e.g. Treachery, Fire-Lit Thicket, ...) with it.
For others wanting to stick around i can strongly advice joining the Discord Channel.

I knew there was a problem as soon as I found out they were giving out free points through sign up bonuses and the old guarantee for lost packages without having a way to remove points from the system. You essentially have a faucet with no sink. If the card prices were also affected by inflation this would not be as much of an issue but basing card prices on the real world and having your wacky bucks devalued at the same time is not good. It wasn’t until the past several months that it started having such a big impact on my incoming packages so I wasn’t too concerned. This was compounded by the new website and the package trading making it much easier and sensible to send out smaller package trades (I mean who really wants to be sending out high value cards when you can conveniently ship a bunch of junk?). The gameplan seems to be implementing features supporting massive bounties on high value cards to keep those flowing so I don’t think Pucatrade is going to be a long term solution for what I’m looking for. The demand for tournament staples is also extremely high. I think the only people that are doing well is collectors looking to complete newish sets or people wanting piles of junk rares.
Additionally the recently implemented filter system encourages people to only send cards to people that have sent cards recently. I fooled around with the system a bit and I think newer traders and people without premium accounts can’t even see all the users since they don’t have all the filters. On some of the filters I couldn’t see people that I knew had points for cards on my want list, they weren’t there at all and wouldn’t show up until they hadn’t received a card in a while. There were some that I knew were even active traders because they were on the leaderboard but apparently had gotten their quota of recent cards so they didn’t even show up on the active traders filter. So basically to get cards you need to not only send cards but you need to have not received anything recently, and I have no way of knowing what their system considers recent or how frequently I need to send cards to be considered active. Right now I’m sticking with very low value packages roughly every 3 days because I don’t want to build up more points but would actually like to use the points I have.
@Brago: That's a good sign and I've got a ton of awesome stuff off the site (foil 8th ed Gravepact, foil MM Bribery, Judge Imperial Recruiter along with many other judge foils, foil Academy Rector and a bunch of stuff that's really difficult to find like foil 8th Furnace of Rath). Overall I'm a little under $8,000 worth of cards received so even if it goes under and I lose out on $240.00 + whatever I spent on my shipping I'm OK with that. And to be fair I'm mainly looking for foil tournament staples which I don't reasonably expect to get quickly, not many people sending out foil shocks and fetches and the demand is quite high (though I have gotten original art foils of Watery Grave, Breeding Pool and Sacred Foundry which is cool).
Edit: Of note I've had foil 9th Sacred Ground on my list since January so if someone wants to send me one that would be awesome. I bought one from ChannelFireball but it ended up being Chinese :/
There's a pizza place around here that has these. We pretend to order their pizza like good adults but in reality we're just ordering the dessert.
That is very responsible of you.
Re: Pucatrade- I'm trying to fill my want list with random stuff I know people have and old want to package, like the new fast lands, and shocks/fetches. So to see them sit is really frustrating. I also haven't made an outgoing trade in forever, so between that and a basic account, I feel like my points are lost.

I would offer to buy them from you but I have too many already. Maybe throw up some healthy bounties to get them moved and forget about Puca for 6 months. It wouldn't hurt to send out a small package (such as a foil 9th ed Sacred Ground) so you're reactivated as an active trader.

Yeah but I can't reward bounties unless I pay for a premium membership, so I'd have to do some sort of workaround like "receiving" cards.
Yeah. It stinks too because I've got this foil 9th edition Sacred Ground that I want to unload, but I don't know anyone who wants one.
I can trade you a Chinese one for it.
@Hermes: Pucatrade used to be awesome it just sucks now. I sent out somewhere around $7,000.00 worth of commons, uncommons and junk rares and foiled out about 475 cards for my cube. Sent some good cards too but most of it was bulk that I didn't think anyone would ever want. I sent one guy 36 Dark Rituals. Who wants that many Dark Rituals*?!
*Let's ignore the fact that I had that many to begin with...
Yeah, PucaTrade used to be a lot better. I don't have quite the success story that Donald does, but I owe most of my cube to it. Like most pyramid schemes, the earlier you enter and more aggressive you are, the better your returns will be.
While I'm very happy that I got out a year or two ago and never had to deal with any of these problems, it was great for me. I have a ton of high value cards that I wouldn't otherwise thanks to pucatrade in addition to all of the random little things that I otherwise would have bought. Traded ~$2000 on there over the course of a year or two and got out before all of the stuff with bounties started.

I'm jealous. Honestly I didn't realize how much my piles of extra cards and trade binder were worth or that anyone would even want that stuff or I would have been more aggressive with it. What cool stuff did you get?
I ended up dropping another $300.00 on Shadows of Brimstone today. My 3 year long addiction with that game continues on as someone reminded me that they are releasing their Forbidden Fortress expansion / new game. How can I refuse when that game has already consumed my soul for well over 200 hours of gameplay and they tell me they are essentially doubling their content with a samurai themed continuation / new line.
I just thought I would mention it here given back when I was super addicted there were a few others who sparked some interest with. I just remember really wishing I had caught the kickstarter last time and I thought I would mention it in case anyone is still playing / interested.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Singles are always best when you're a veteran with many decks. I stayed away from sealed product and haven't looked back.
I currently have enough singles to make two decks at one time: one being mono-colored (black) and the other a combo of wu, not counting my ashling the pilgrim mono-red deck. The singles i plan to get are fetches and shock lands along with other cards I've either had to sell for money needs or have wanted for awhile. Hopefully, I'll be able to make more than just one deck at a time.
I waam actually going to buy all of the decks despite most of the generals being underwhelming, but when I saw they were only available as foils I completely lost interest.
Maybe I'll finally find someone to take my pucapoints so I can bail also.
