Except the majority of voters actually voted for Clinton. I don't think she was a particularly strong candidate either, but the fact is she won the popular vote.
I also reject the idea that people should just give up and love each other. If they see something worth fighting for it's their right as an American to speak out, protest, and fight for what they believe in.
The fact of the matter is that Trump had a very effective campaign strategy of hitting the streets and putting out a message that resonated with the America that is struggling right now. And yeah a lot of that message was tainted by bigotry (and please don't take this as a defense of the guy), but he was saying what the people wanted to hear: that politicians are corrupt, that the job market sucks, that not everything Obama did in the last 8 years was as good as the Dems made it out to be. And the Dems responded by going up against him with a career politician who for decades has been rocked by scandals of lying and corruption, and spent the majority of the campaign focusing on the elite while other people campaigned for her. Meanwhile, her platform could have been "this guy is a bigot and is for everything that our party stands against" and she should have been a landslide. But instead she just focused on herself, and that coupled with the giant liability she was is why her voters didn't resonate and chose to stay home because they couldn't vote for her, even to oppose Trump.
Dunno if some of you guys are trolling about Trump or what. If you take any media studies you should understand that the media is a huge tool for propaganda. Ever tried watching a neutral news channel instead of Clinton News Networks (CNN). The majority of these mega media companies are propaganda machines.
The ground, the partisans reflected what America thinks with their vote. Just accept it. If you don't please look into Wikileaks, or try to be objective and look on the other side. Try infowars https://www.youtube.com/user/TheAlexJonesChannel Look at the turnout of Trump's rallies and Clinton's. The majority has clearly voted.
The World is bigger than you think.
Do you guys really think Trump is a moron? C'mon...
I'm not an American, nor a Clinton or Trump supporter btw. But from the outside-looking-in the general perception and the naivety of totally believing mainstream media is utterly hilarious.
Americans should stick together and love each other, the same for any country and its peoples. Why fight, why create unnecessary hate? Why be hypocritical about hate and start pointing middle fingers in protest of whoever? Even Obama urges America to be together. It's really ugly to see these scenes of infighting... really is.
There is no such thing as ''neutral news channel'' . Anyone who has undertaken media / social studies can understand that
Also, not to be a nitpicker but as of now I think that Clinton has won the majority of the popular vote.
As for wikileaks, I am starting to think that they have their own not-so-liberal-agenda since the timing of the leaks seems at least conspicuous. My hope is that Trump, who may not be idiot but he symbolizes obscenity and complete disregard about facts or minorities, after realizing his position can behave with decency.
Anyways, on more important stuff, I couldn't decide what precon to preorder so I just sent my buddy to a LGS to pick the leftovers. He picked Atraxa for him and Yildris for me. It felt a little underwhelming because I was hoping that the Breya precon wouldn't be sold out.
I might end up picking up one of the precons after all since there's some interest from my group in playing them out of the box. I'm trying to sell everyone on the idea of using them for a league of sorts, but we'll see.

I meant if she was anyone but HRC. Like, I could have run with a campaign slogan "Not Trump" and in a two party race do as well as she did.

While I'm sure there's a lot about Trump that's blown out of proportion I refuse to even pretend that I agree with misogyny and homophobia on any level ever.
I know there are a lot of politics in this post. Sharing my views on it and moving back to cardboard dragons afterwards. @Bolas, this isn't directed at you in particular but your post made a good jumping off point.
Do you guys really think Trump is a moron? C'mon...
I don't know if Trump is a moron and frankly it's less important than the things I do know about Trump, particularly his policy objectives. The only thing I can think of that he's had a hard, unchanging stance on is trade. In addition to outright lying about things he said on the public record, he regularly reversed his policy positions during the campaign. He's erratic and unpredictable, two words I never wanted to use to describe the US commander in chief. He advocated war crimes. Beyond that, he's also come down on the side of some fairly regressive social policies and has already outlined how he's going to enact some of that (not directly, but a lot of the LGBT and immigrant protections were put into place by Obama's executive orders and he's promised to immediately repeal all of those). His SCOTUS pick, while equally unpredictable based on the list that he previously published, has even more potential to push in that direction. I think playing off climate change as false demonstrates a lack of respect for science and information, which fits with his disregard of facts during the campaign (as an aside, even if all the science is wrong and climate change is not actually happening, we've still reduced air pollution and moved towards being more environmentally responsible). His push towards fossil fuels, particularly coal and oil, ignores economic reasons for the decline in oil production and coal power plants, namely the natural gas/fracking boom in the US that's driven oil prices down and lessened demand for coal fired power plants. I can see some of the trade policies going either way and it looks like some foreign powers are willing to work with him to some degree, but I think promising to bring back manufacturing jobs ignores a number of other factors, notably how automation has reduced the need for large numbers of workers in many industries.
Americans should stick together and love each other, the same for any country and its peoples. Why fight, why create unnecessary hate? Why be hypocritical about hate and start pointing middle fingers in protest of whoever? Even Obama urges America to be together. It's really ugly to see these scenes of infighting... really is.
This is fair and it's a good message, but most of the anti-Trump crowd was entirely unprepared for this result. One of the most conservative projections, made by someone who gained national attention after correctly predicting the winner of every state plus DC in the last election, still had Trump's odds of winning around 30%. Plenty of other outlets had him <10%. I don't think I saw a single projection that had him over 50%. Trump was more or less viewed as a caricature by his opponents from the point he entered the primary race. A lot of people had never even considered the chance that Trump would win. While you can read into that as you want and it's like 3-4 Christmases combined for political science scholars, Tuesday night was the first time a lot of people seriously thought about what a Trump presidency would mean for them and for their country, and that's a scary thing for a lot of people. Add in that the entire campaign was more or less a race to the bottom between the two candidates and it makes sense that people are going to be angry as well as scared. I do not and cannot condone the violence, but protests are both protected speech and a healthy way to express that fear and anger. It's been a matter of days since the election. Give people a chance to express their views on the result.
I truly hope that I'm wrong. I hope that Trump is the best president we've ever had. I hope his attempts to root out corruption and reform Washington are successful. I hope that in 4 years, he has a shining legacy that illustrates the importance of outsiders in US politics. I think my political views diverge significantly enough from his that I'll never agree with him, but I hope that that's the worst thing I can say about him. There's almost nothing he's said or done over the course of this campaign that makes me think that will be the case. He won fairly within the system and he gets his shot to govern, but he needs to do more than issue an election night statement about coming together to win me over.
My 2016 precons shipped Wednesday and I'll have them tomorrow. It's nice to get preorders in a reasonable time frame.

Both the partner and the face cards are indeed in foil.
In any case, my methods are also quite apolitical. If you are a threat, I will try to make sure you die.
My personality also makes it impossible for me to ever pilot group hug. I don't mind 2 horse races nearly as much, but my Magic personality is very much aligned with black so the idea of giving everyone resources for free is so much blegh. It also ruins the process for anyone trying to test decks to evaluate performance.

Lame.
MaRo: Hey guys, have received a lot of feedback that the players want to be able to get foil generals, but not the oversized versions.
WotC: Well boy will they love C16 then.
I was thinking about doing goblin tribal aggro based deck instead of infinite combos. I do have 1 infinite combo in the deck though, Krenko, a sac outlet, and Thornbite staff to make infinite goblins.
Do you think it's possible to build Yidris in a reanimator style?? I am bored of my Meren deck, I got the c16 precon so I am looking for fresh alternatives.
Very. I'm strongly considering doing the same with my Sedris, The Traitor King deck. Yidris himself doesn't synergise particularly well with reanimator but reanimator synergises synergise with the "vomit stuff onto the board" strategy that Yidris has

Thoughts on cards that are really only useful in the opening hand? I'm thinking of adding Land Equilibrum to a deck which has a decent chance of dropping it first turn (with or without a land drop), but it's not really a card you want to see later on in the game (unless you're playing MLD which I'm not).

Why not playing/centering around Living End in the deck? That should tie up many loose ends that come with playing such a 'goodstuffy' general. Or was this your starting idea to begin with?
