Well, I got a bunch of cards off my want list (for either new frames or more affordable, non-foil promo versions) and a few with just plain better art I'm going to upgrade to:
Didn't know that Sinkhole is a car as well
**** it I'm gonna buy a box of EMA. It's a rendezvous with my childhood memories.
P.S #unbanKarakasinEDH
It was unbanned when I started with a clause it didn't work on commanders and I randomly had one. I was sad when it got banned but it was for the best.
I'm also considering buying a box or 2. Can't think of anything better to drop $300-$600 on.

All of my hype is currently being focused on non-foil Duplicant with the good art.
Yeah this is exciting for me, too.
My only problem with EMA is that I JUST sprang for pricier versions of a lot of these cards in the recent past. The good news is I can sell off a bunch of FTV, CA and Judge cards to fund finishing off my want list.

Since when did you start buying cards to get gud?
I was going to surprise you when I came back to league.
... Also none of my discretionary money really goes to video games anymore, so I might as well upgrade my decks!
I still refuse to buy anything with a price rage over $50, and anything over $5 needs to significantly improve the deck.
Wow. I'm playing my Maelstrom Wanderer deck on MTGO. It's turbo group hug/chaos with no win conditions. I ramp into Wanderer on turn 4 and Cascade into Forced Fruition and Dream Halls (!) and pass turn. Surely there is no conceivable way I untap alive but the first 2 guys don't know how to activate Dream Halls despite me explaining how to do it so it gets to the third guy who is playing Nekusar. Surely I die to Nekusar, there is no way even a garbage low budget deck doesn't kill us all. He does some scary stuff which causes the other guys to scoop but in the process plays Phyrexian Tyranny?! He dies to his own spell and I win.
Am I the only one who thinks it's funny that folks expected EMA to be the first set in history where the EV of a box is higher than msrp? What do people expect?

I expected the EV to be higher than the MSRP, and for packs to randomly contain foil $20 bills.
At a glance I'd say that average EMA pack value is significantly higher than MM2 and possibly higher than MM1. But of course your best bet is to just be a lucky bastard.

Solely on Mythics/Rares, EMA has a "retention rate" of 51%, compared to MM1's 47% and MM2's 20%. Once you take release and aging into account, it's going to be lower than MM1 for quite some time, but being Eternal I can see it age better in the long run. It's nowhere near MM2 to be that bad.
EDIT: The numbers were wrong, EMA was actually a lot closer to MM2 than MM1 using the earliest prices SCG had on pre-order back then. Late edit since I forgot I posted the statistics over here as well (the math was initially quickly done for another thread at the Rumor Mill).
Actually, now that the full list is out, the actual list of cards I want doesn't seem so high after all - they really front-loaded those previews... in priority order for myself (note they're all in foil):
(Cards I don't have, they're not in the list, but I want them since they now can be cheaper and reasonable substitutes for existing cards as far as foils are concerned) Enlightened Tutor (I only have nonfoil Idyllic Tutors) Necropotence (Trying to streamline the 1-of policy, and Underworld Connections was standing in for Phyrexian Arena and this). Vampiric Tutor (Probably not going to see any cheap foil Demonic Tutors anytime soon...)
Okay, that actually seems like a lot, but honestly the niche non-rare cards probably cost next-to-nothing and the Mythics in the third list are just desired in theory, I highly doubt I'll actually get them in the end.
Hey guys. What are your thoughts on Marvel's new direction to make Captain America a hydra agent? Its pretty obvious it was done to shock people, so they buy more comics. I'm not a fan of it, because it makes no sense and it's dumb.

You're mostly right here. Question: Have you been reading the comics? Because it was meant to shock people, yes, but it also makes perfect sense and is clever.
I should also add that Red Skull is currently running around with Professor X's brain, and this could also be mental manipulation. Or both. The 'flashback' scenes are monochrome, except for the red sky and the red scarf of the woman who introduces them to Hydra... which seems suspicious.
No, I don't read the comics. My sister reads comics and she tells me some stuff that goes on, but not everything. I'm still a little confused. So Kobik brought captain america back to youth, but she might have corrupted in the past by bad guys(mostly red skull). So she, not knowing the consequences of things, made captain america a hyrda agent? I thought captain america was dead in the comics. Or did they retcon that?

"Comic Books"
Yeah, so lots of stuff happened. Basically, just like what's happening now, Cap's 'death' was a stunt. They kept him dead longer than intended because of the reaction. He died, came back, was depowered, and was just recently repowered. Except Red Skull was there at the repowering and had everyone convinced he was some other random person. It's not a stretch to say he used mind control to make Cap believe he was a hydra agent, or even manipulated Kobik somehow to make it 'true'.
It's actually pretty cool, because it completely redeems the otherwise very mediocre "Stand Off" comic.
Currently, Cap is leading a unity squad (mutants, inhumans and just superpowered humans) to hunt down Red Skull.
