Well, one person I know said that WotC had previously mentioned that when BFZ was supposed to be three sets, that the initial idea was 1 set per Titan, so I guess this closes out that theory, keeping with the same theming.
I have no idea where he got that info from, though. I would have figured if that was actual knowledge, I'd hear more people pointing it out...
The actual 'proof' is that people found is quite interesting though:
Emrakul isn't "confirmed," but people are pointing out that the 'clues' tokens provide the clue to solve. The 6 clues' flavor text contain the words to spell out the flavor text from Ugin's Insight: (all language versions match up with their versions of Ugin's Insight)
Remember this: they came as three
"Remember to have Jenrik..."
"Consider this: the shepherd turns..."
"The symbols - when did they change?"
"With Angels came mysteries"
"The chanting grew louder as the tide rises"
"For every answer, three questions"
And that the Tamiyo's Journal entry numbers align with that, in a convoluted way. For those not in the know - Different language versions of Tamiyo's Journal have the same text entry, but the journal 'number' is different in different languages.
Example given: The english Tamiyo Journal Entry is numbered 4 3 4, so you find the clue with 4 words in the flavor text. "With Angels Came Mysteries" Take the 3rd word from it "Came", which is the 4th word of Ugin's Quote: "Remember this: they came as three"
And this again works for all language versions of Tamiyo's Journal and Clue tokens, making it slightly out of the realm of coincidence.
I rather like that the clue tokens were the clue to solving the riddle, though I was also hoping for a palate cleansing set. I was really rooting for Team Bolas (who could honestly still be behind it, since he wants the 3 titans dead for some reason, and is bent on getting rid of those that constructed the initial trap, and now we have 2 of them fighting each other)
Anyone sold any cards through the trading post here? I've got a few pricey foils I'm thinking of unloading and I would rather skip eBay given the choice.

Well I haven't really posted regularly on here since October, but I might be coming back for a while now. BFZ was just a really boring set to me, and I still haven't even looked at most of the cards from OGW, but SOI is shaping up to be really interesting, which has caused me to start paying attention to Magic again.
The Gitrog Monster is practically everything I could have ever asked for in a BG general, considering Life from the Loam is my favorite card in Magic. I already have a pretty competitive Jarad deck though so I'll probably be looking to build him more casually.
Anyway, it's nice to be back.
EDIT: Wait Jivan is a mod now? Never thought I would see that day. What else has changed around here?
Man, I really hope this isn't Emrakul. I just want it to be Nahiri messing stuff up and being bad and Sigarda finally doing something.
Also, I did not notice until DTrains post that the gitrog monster is a legend. I still prefer Meren, but if I ever get bored enough of her and also of my Titania deck, this seems like a good choice. Definitely will be picking one up.
I dismantled 3 or 4 janky casual decks today and I found lots of singletons which can be used in EDH decks. Does anyone else face this problem? How do you ''remember'' your old decks?

It probably happened at some point, but I haven't had a non-EDH casual deck together in years.

WHAT
How?! I've looked at that card for DAYS!
How did I miss that?
Arinthe (or however you spell it) becoming a mod isn't as surprising as Jivan ;P
I think it's because that thing just doesn't seem like a legendary creature. Nothing about the art or abilities really make me think legendary. Other than the name that declares it to be 'The' gitrog monster instead of 'A' gitrog monster, it's kind of just any big dumb beater with a weird quasi drawback.
That being said, I really do like him and want to pick him up to make a deck

Wait really? The last ability is pretty unique and being able to play an extra land is also an upside. The "drawback" is hardly a drawback because it synergizes nicely with the other two abilities. The fact that it's a 5 mana 6/6 is a lot less important than its insane abilities, especially the last one.
I don't know, I looked at it and saw Smothering Abomination for lands and just thought, man I wish I could stick this in Titania. To me it just sorta feels like a support card rather than a Legend. I'm not saying it's not a really sweet card, and I promise I wasn't trying to down on your excitement or anything, it just didn't seem like a legendary creature to me until I looked at the type line
Also, I called it a Quasi drawback to show that I think it's only half a drawback not really a drawback.
