My Derevi deck is snowballing overextension the deck. The goal is hit with a bunch of things to make more mana to hit with more things. So like, Elspeth makes some tokens, and then I hit with them and use the tap or untap triggers to untap Azorius Chancery a bunch of times to cycle Decree of Justice and get like 10 more dudes. And then when those 10 more dudes hit, they untap Arcanis for me 10 times. Things like that. It's pretty fun to pilot and not at all stax or stasis.

After look through gather and realizing that I wanted to play green with another color, I think i may go with Emmara Tandris tokens, unless someone has a better suggestion for a green with another color

GW Non-Emmara Tandris tokens would be better. She's terrible and you'll feel like you could have something playable or fun in the command zone with Emmara Tandris. ...

Okay, so I looked and GW has a bunch of really awful legends, but if you go awful at least go flavorful and weird.
Tolismir Woolfblood is probably want you want for a casual general. Either that or go with Rhys the Redeemed. Btw how do you say Rhys? Is it like Reise, Rise, riss?

Emmara is pretty bad. Not that the effect is bad, just that she costs 80 bajillion for it, when you could just run Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant instead. Either in the 99 or as commander for mono-w.
Also, tokens are generally expendable, so...
If you want G/W tokens, Tolsimir can actually be a casual beating. Potentially giving many dudes +2/+2 is huge, and combine him with Wilt-Leaf Liege and you have many lords of power. here are a few white and green tokens.
Otherwise I've been having a lot of fun recently with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. Make tokens, make more tokens, and then even more tokens. It's pretty exciting, and surprisingly fairly stable. I went with a land theme, which led to landfall (and thus tokens, and thus Trostani), but the land theme is obviously quite optional. There are a bunch of Large token producers and token copy producers that I'm not running, and are always fun with Trostani.
Séance and Mimic Vat are absolute houses in there. The number of times people have jumped through hoops to kill my Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage, only to have me make a token of itself, and then populate itself... priceless.

Reese. He's got a peanutbutter center.
Technically, that first spelling you put in could still be pronounced 'rice,' 'reese,' or 'rayse' depending on localization of language. ei is a funny set of vowels.

Nice...Thank you very much and the deck looks like it basically builds its self which will be nice
One of the few times I played standard I used that Trostani card and it was pretty cool was like my inverse to puraphos in bats tokens worked excellent with archangel of thune and eslpeth
Rhys is supposed to be pronounced exactly as you would Reese. Rhys is the Welsh equivalent to Reese, and the magic character is from Lorwyn, the Celtic-y setting, so I'm pretty confident that is what you're going for.
Of course, I've known people who pronounce every magic character in a stupid way because they've decided that fantasy characters need fantasy names.

So, after weeks of telling people I wanted to build that goofy Assault Formation (I wanted to build it UG, but it needed more support so it's BUG) deck to try for standard...I've finally come up with a list. And it's odd, because it seems like it's actually really solid against R/G Landfall. If you can slam a Disowned Ancestor/Sidisi's Faithful t1 into Formation next turn, none of the deck's one or two drops can survive it, even with double landfall AND Titan's Strength. Sure, if you don't get a Formation, the deck kind of durdles until it hits one or a Kin-Tree Invocation (6/6 for two mana!) but with plenty of removal in four copies of Grim Contest (aka Twerk-Off) and Murderous Cut, I certainly don't think the deck will take any Pro Tours, but it should be enough to top 8 at Game Day.
Now I just gotta figure out what I want in my sideboard.

I hate having a deck idea and ending up having to trim back from a pile of 300 cards after I go through them. And the more I cut from the deck the less gimmicky and cool the deck looks and the whole reason for making the deck just kinda dies, and I end up not finishing.

^ This. Or if I actually do finish it the deck is horrible and I never play it.
speaking of budget issues..I just went and added fetches, some shock lands and dual lands to my wish list..I think I'm going to end up spending my next refund on cards next year lol
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
Well I'm listening to the new Iron Maiden album and it just sounds so boring. I guess I can see where you'd make the comparison to their older stuff, but it makes me realize how generic their music is. Like, take the vocals away and it could be any number of songs. They have a very forumlaic sound.
Agreed. I'm going to let a few episodes of Gundam build up and binge watch that. Also going to wait on the new Attack on Titan, because judging by the fact of how slow the first show felt when I watched it weekly, it might be better to give it a bit.

it sounds like one of those words invented just for scrabble. I don't trust words that don't have vowels in them.

Technically W is a vowel under certain circumstances. English is a really odd language.

I wonder if that has to do with that it is pronounced "Double U" and since U is a vowel...
"English, why is 'w' a vowel sometimes?"
"Because **** you, that's why."
