The last generation of consoles has been the first that I've kind of more or less just completely skipped out on. I stick to my PC a lot, but I kind of want to pick up a console here lately. I've been so busy though, gaming in general falls into this weird, sometimes category.
Wii-U is the only current-gen console even remotely worth picking up IMO. The other two, any game of interest is basically guaranteed to see a (considerably cheaper) PC release.

I feel like a WiiU would actually be a decent system, if only for my kid, but I haven't owned a nintendo system since the gamecube. You do, however, make a valid point. In the last... seven? eight? years I think just about every game that has come out has had a PC port. There's been a handful of exclusives I've wanted to own, but not many.

I own a Wii U (I'm a diehard fan of Ninty, even if I think some of their choices in the last few years have definitely punished them) and it's a neat system if you like the normal set of Nintendo's IPs, along with a decent selection of games with original concepts (Wonderful 101 and Splatoon come to mind.) The system is also fairly inexpensive, which helps. The same can be said for the 3DS, except I think it's got a much larger and stronger library.
I was considering getting a PS4, but the only exclusives I'm interested in that are on it that aren't (or going to be) available for Steam are Infamous: Second Son, Kingdom Hearts 3, and Ratchet & Clank. If Sony gets some more decent exclusives, I'll probably pull the trigger on it next year.

The Nintendo franchises I'm into are Pokemon, Smash, Mario Kart, LoZ, and Fire Emblem. Unfortunately, the current FE and Pokemon games are on the 3DS, I really don't want to play Smash and Kart on a handheld (I'd really like to get into the competitive Smash 4 scene as much as I can), and a Wii U Zelda game hasn't really shown its face yet. 2016, they say.
I don't really want to buy both a console and a handheld to have access to all the games I want. If all those titles were on the Wii U, I'd pick it up without a second thought.
My girlfriend and I bought a Wii U and I must say, it's a nice console.
The tablet is much better in handling than I assumed and both games I played in excess so far (Super Mario 3D World & Mario Kart 8) had nice graphics and were really fun. The Wii U has also the plus point of being able to play Wii games. (This is a huge plus for us, since we have a lot of consoles and there is always a tough competition when it comes to cable slots on the TV. Currently we have outside and ready to play a SNES, a GameCube with Gameboy Player, a Wii (not connected to the TV), a Wii U, a PS 2, a Xbox 360 and a Sega Megadrive II.)
And since we own already the Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS and now the Zelda: Majora's Mask New 3DS, it was clear that we wanted the Zelda: Windwaker Wii U to complete the picture.
Currently we are planning to buy a PS 4, when some of the following games are released: The Last Guardian, Persona 5 and the Final Fantasy VII Remake. There are of course many other great games right now, like Witcher 3 and so on, but we already have more than enough games to play for months straight. So only really awaited titles will make us move.

Have you played Nintendo Land? The Luigi's Haunted Mansion minigame on it is a BLAST to play drunk, as is the game where you are chasing Mario as Toads.
So I decided to put my Zur deck back together, and I'm missing a card :/ No idea which one it was, either.

We actually own Nintendo Land, but didn't play it much 'til now. But a short and fun game sounds like something I might like. Thanks.

You didn't have a written list anywhere? I always either type or write them up somewhere so I can get a better idea of what I have going on with them.
Nah, it was pretty much a standard Zur list so I never felt the need.
I did remember that I had a Jace the Wallet Sculptor in there but traded it off right before I took it apart, so I just need to put another card in there and it's complete. Ish.

Three things you might not know about the Luigi's Mansion mini-game: First, if you play 20 matches you unlock new stages. Second, the stages are different sizes depending on the number of players (5 player matches are amazing). Third, the Ghost has 'magic' you can charge up and release to short out all the flashlights.
Honestly, it's probably one of the best mini-games of the last decade, since Pac-Man VS. It's almost worth the price of Nintendoland by itself.
The only thing that comes close is Towerfall, which is another amazing game.
I've finally got my mile time under 5 minutes again! Woohoo!
Very nice accomplishment. I think the fastest I ever ran was 10:03 for 1.5 miles, and that was early in my AF career when I was like 155 lbs (so before I started lifting).

No, I actually need to take an Island out and get ahold of Adarkar Wastes, as I am currently missing that one. Then I'm just Dual Lands away from a perfect Esper Mana Base, and that just ain't happenin.

I love the painlands for my manabases. So much cheaper than shocks and fetches.
By the way, what do you guys think of doing a 'second 99' list for commanders you really like? I love playing my Alesha deck and I keep finding more cool cards to synergize with her but I don't have room in the list. I thought of either building a second 99 style list or building her a tiny leaders deck since I can pretty much fit all the cards I'm not running that I want to in a tiny leaders list. Opinions?
I just spent $300.00 on Shadows of Brimstone minis. They are coming out with a ton of new enemies and had them at gencon. Apparently they put the surplus stock on their site with limited quantities. I snatched all but one of them up because it appears to be out of stock lol.
Its unfortunate as I hear there was a map pack there too but they must have sold out of those. I guess I will have to wait on that.

I've sworn off minis based games. They're just so expensive, and I don't have the spare income right now. Like, I loved X-Wing Miniatures, but I don't think I've bought a mini over the last two generations.
... Although now I see that they're coming out with figures based on the rebels ships. I might have to get that one.
I used to love Warhammer 40k, but yeah... I put way too much into my army, and eventually sold most of it off when I had a kid. The idea of trying to get back into a mini game gives me a headache.
I've never played a mini based game but I see people play them at my shop occasionally. It just doesn't seem like my thing. How (in broad basic terms) do those games work? How do you start, what is the end goal, and how do you get there?
