I think I'm just confused to the point where I'll stop asking.
Not confusing at all. When people leave things on our dumpster I see that they put some effort to put their trash away. But because we live in a city full of street kids and junkies we lock our trash. So, 10/10 effort. When people tag buildings, throw dildos on powerlines, and cover the ground with cigarette butts it's just typical Portland laziness and entitlement.
I have a question and I hope someone can bring me some insight on this:
Why is Moat so expensive? I get that it's a great card, vital for many Pillow-Fort strategies, and from Legends with rarity R1. But does it see any play in Legacy or Vintage? Or is it just the casual/EDH market driving the price?
In a similar way, why is Avacyn, Angel of Hope so expensive? As far as I know it sees zero play in Modern. So is again the casual/EDH market responsible? I mean, it's a mythic with a great effect, but the same can be said about Craterhoof Behemoth, which comes from the same edition, both had no reprints so far, but Craterhoof Behemoth sees at least some play in Legacy Elves thanks to Natural Order. Still, Craterhoof costs on MKM in the cheapest case (being English in near mint condition) 14 Euros, while Avacyn is listed in the cheapest case for 19.80 Euros?
Also, what do you think are the chances for seeing Avacyn in FTV: Angels?
Edit: Okay, there just appeared while writing this an Avacyn for 16 Euros, but with shipping it would amount to 25 Euros...

You are asking a question with an insanely complicated and long answer. But the reason Moat and Avacyn are worth as much as they are is because they are worth that much. People are willing to buy something that they think is worth $300 if the think that it's worth $300 and can sell it for $300. In fact, they might spend $325 on something worth $300 if they know that they can sell it for $300 or more once it's done being used. And then, the card is now worth $325 and the next guy might be willing to go $350. etc.
Avacyn is all about casual and collector appeal too.
I remember someone made a post about how different countries treat different temperatures. The last one had the Canadians in winter gear, and the rest frozen solid.
The temperature was higher than it gets in winter in the most southern points of Canada.
Also, North America is too whack.
I'd love to move permanently to Europe.
I have good friends in Tucson, AZ who wear light jackets and jeans when it's 120F and sunny outside. When I've visited them I feel like I'm going to burst into flames any moment. Then they come up here to CO and wear literally every item of clothing they own when it's 60F and I'm in shorts. Most folks will get used to the local weather, at least to some extent.
I have a question and I hope someone can bring me some insight on this:
Why is Moat so expensive.....
Moat does see some Legacy play last time I checked. I almost exclusively blame EDH and general speculation for prices rising so much in recent years. Seems like if a card is EDH legal it's going to eventually see a major price hike. Even if it's a fringe playable like Invoke Prejudice folks will notice that it's EDH playable and speculate on it heavily based on scarcity. To my knowledge a card like that has never, ever seen constructed play outside EDH.
Although to be fair a lot of Vintage only cards are having their prices driven up big time too. I know that non-proxy Vintage is very popular in several places in Europe and I figure that's the reason.

How much are those in real degrees? I think 36.6 celcius is 100 F (body temperature, no?)
if I had to guess (based on the fact that -18 is the same in both and the above point) 20 is somewhere around 20 celcius?

About 49 celcius according to Google. Hot enough that I thought the thermometer in my truck was broken when I got there.

Once you get past 120 you don't really notice the increase. It's just ******* hot. The humidity is the real problem. I'd rather be in a 120 degree desert than a 95 degree summer day here when you can feel the thickness of the air when you breathe.
Yeah, all feeling about temperature is a bit subjective with where you live. But, I agree with cryo, having done both, I would prefer a dry 110+ to a humid 80-95.

Once again I'm sitting at work watching the American Apparel across the street getting shoplifted. Normally it's 2-5 young black girls but today it's 2 white hippies who looked high as **** when they took off. From what I can tell, you walk in, load your arms with clothes, walk towards the door, and run. American Apparels don't have cameras as a policy and they don't pursue. Idiots.
Why include the race, presumed gender, age, and class of the shoplifters in your story? What does it add to your narrative?

People tend to include details when they want to have the story be more easily related to or to allow for a visual representation of what happened. It tends to happen often in stories.
Race age sex, and class are all interesting factors when looking at crimes. He assumes gender because it's ok to assume what 95+% (probably more) of human beings are.
Did someone really ask Moxnix to spell correctly? Why include the race, presumed gender, age, and class of the shoplifters in your story? What does it add to your narrative?
No matter what people want others to think, race, sex, age, and class are incredibly descriptive and are great ways to describe things. People being butthurt shouldn't change that.

This is surprisingly easy to do in modern as every deck pretty much needs to devote some number of 'board slots to Affinity, Burn, Delver, and Twin. There's a lot of room for rogue decks to rock games 2 & 3.
Standard homebrews tend to fare worse in my experience, but then again standard has been some flavor of G/x goodstuff since Thragtusk was printed (and Courser of Kruphix followed it.

Texture mostly. Without it, the story has no mental image. "A small gathering of individuals that appeared to be human.... but one can't say for sure without asking, but asking violates their rights to privacy and may be offensive to individuals who do not identify as humans." See, at some point you sort of just have to add flavor.
But it's important to understand that in this part of town if you see a group of black female teenagers there is a 90% chance they are shoplifting from American Apparel. That isn't to say anything except that it's a very white touristy part of town and there's only been 2 black female teenagers I've seen from my perch that weren't shoplifting. It sucks because the time I caught the girls on tape doing it, it started with me telling my coworker how *****ty it was that the only time we see black people on our street they are boosting from AA. And then, 30 seconds later I see her purse a dress. Like, COME ON!!! Yesterday though, it was sort of fascinating watching people that are not the stereotypical AA thief getting in on the action. Today I had this terrible thought that even Shoplifting from American Apparel might be getting gentrified.

I'm tempted to bring my rat deck since I've been advised not try for a RU chaos deck with the goal of the other player rage quitting
