Just finished going through the gas chamber where they fill a room with CS gas (tear gas) and make us take our gas masks off. I'm hard core so I went in wearing nothing but my dog tags and a smile.
Total side note but I like how people are discussing running this over itself.
Well, it has to be said that Kolaghan is clearly better than Kolaghan. Considering what BR decks usually want and how stiff the competition in this guild is, there is no way that I would run Kolaghan over Kolaghan! Kolaghan might make it in as the sixth guild card or so. Kolaghan on the other hand ranks several places below that.
It was so funny to me when they described this as a downgrade to the original Zurgo during the Pax East panel. I was thinking if this is a downgrade, they should really "downgrade" all legendary creatures. Haha.
My deck designing is quite concise at this point:
1. Come up with deck idea
2. Realize this idea is somehow fundamentally similar to another deck I have or that is commonly played in my group
3. Decide I don't want to disassemble one of my existing decks
4. Give up and do nothing
I don't see the point of this new shroud mechanic. It's strictly worse than Hexproof. Threshold is pretty bad too, Delirium is a much better mechanic and probably easier to activate.
Otherwise this card is a pretty neat guy. Dodges removal and grows into a Primal Huntbeast. 3/5
I can't see any deck wanting to pass the turn to an opponent who now has a fresh hand of 7 that you paid for. I'm sure there's some interaction or trick I'm missing, but I definitely don't see anything right now.

Say what you want about any of those four gods, they're all incredibly undercosted indestructible beaters if turned on.
I don't want to include gods because:
~They are Gods and I said I'd include all 15.
or
~They are indestructible and can become creatures.
They all have abilities. I want them to be relevant.
I'd totally do stax if it worked. But half of the gods are then useless.
I could do half stax half something else, but that just seems to weaken both the other thing and stax.

Not following;
Nylea grants them all Trample and can pump them to kill whatever they come into contact with/to hurt whomeever they get through to.
Pharika is anti-graveyard/political shenanigans.
Kruphix gives you no max hand size and allows you to store mana.
I mean, the hardest to justify is Phenax, and even then you could just say he's an alternate win condition when you can't attack through.

Oath of the Gatewatch; the set that caused the competitive community to freak out over Basic Lands.
So far... two awesome cards from Origins, both in foil. (Day's Undoing, Blessed Spirits). And then two mono-red cards to test in Norin (Pia and Kiran Nalaar, Flameshadow Conjuring).
If only they printed a mono-black control card that didn't suck or cost 5+ mana...
I'm freaking dying. Between all the weddings and EDC this weekend this 30 year old body's been partying like it's freshman year. EDC was a lot of fun though, insofar as I can remember what happened.
I did not go to very many, if any, parties in freshman year.
I was... somewhere in between? By the time I hit college I was already a veteran party animal thanks to lots of away-from-home badminton and hockey tournaments and I've always enjoyed dancing so I took to the club scene pretty comfortably. On the other hand, I didn't go out every weekend compulsively, the way some of my buds did, and by second year both my wallet and grades were thanking me for spending more time just chilling with my MtG and D&D buds.
I did not go to very many, if any, parties in freshman year.
I drank $1800 worth of gin, ate $1000 worth of pizza, and gained 65 pounds. I was way too busy to party.
I definitely gained 15-30 pounds in Freshman year... I think over the course of High School + College I gained about 100 pounds... I didn't have very much gin, though. I much preferred other liquors (Vodka, Rum) and a variety of liqueurs (Bailey's, Amaretto (which I now don't like as much)). And not a ton of pizza either, though there was a great pizza place just south of campus.
My problem was this pizza place buy campus that made 3" tall chicago pizzas. 8" pies were $12 - which sounds like a lot for 8" but it still weighed almost 2 pounds. Before college, my Junior year I walked 2 miles to school every day and two miles to work afterwards. I was active outside kayaking and climbing too. But, then the "work hard and learn skills" advice got too much so I took on afterschool jobs like crazy, bought a car, and started to get lazy. I was 105 pounds my Jr year, 120 my senior year, and 185 by the time I got back from college. Since then it's been a slow rise up and up and up. Now, I'm working 3 jobs that require sitting around on my ass and the tattooing really pushes the going to the bar after we get off for the day. So, I'm going to need a big reevaluation on how to run some really basic stuff in my life.
What sort of dancing? I did ballet for about a decade, and have also done some swing.
Here in Calgary it's all about the line dancing. I also did a couple years of capoeira, which if you're not familiar is difficult to describe, but is pretty much break dancing (break dancing is largely based off it) mixed with martial arts.
Your wallet was thanking you for playing MtG? Weird... Mine tends to cry about it.
If you played as casual as we did yeah, definitely cheaper than cover charges and buying girls drinks on a weekly basis. These were the days where my 60-card deck abusing theVisionschimeras with artifact cost-reducers and silly jank like Minion Reflector was considered a threat. I remember splurging for a Reveillark for that dumb thing and thinking that was a bit excessive.
Ha!
Dangly parts
How long until it gets banned in modern? haha
I wouldn't hold my breath on it getting banned. I would be surprised if it even saw extensive play. This is not Treasure Cruise. Not even remotely.

The Quote function doesn't work for me on this forum. Sorry for any confusion created.
Read a little closer. It only ends the turn if it's your turn.
It could be funny in a Final Fortune type deck I guess?

More people should. Check him out live if you can.
I think Creature based agro-control is the way to go.
Could just go Enchantment Stax.

I believe that Karona, False God is the default flavor win choice of commanders. Its not really much of an original idea anymore though.

I never found any of the three reasons people though that'd be clever to be clever.
Child of Alara is most likely the commander.
From a flavor standpoint of it being sort of god based, its sort of cool but I agree that the commander doesn't add much to the deck.
