Just came across dense foliage when putting cards on Pucatrade.
Great for voltron decks,or if you run a lot of equipment.

Life's Legacy newer card, stupidly powerful in mono green (or any other big creature deck w/ green in it) highly spashable, "downside" is sorcery speed, actual card cost currently is cheap (around 50¢) crazy good w/ Omnath, Kruphix, Quicken, recursion and many other cards. Pretty bomby for 2 mana.
You can't describe something that costs twice as much "far superior," even if it's better. Life gain isn't that big of a deal. Being instant speed is, but again you're talking twice the cost. You could argue that Soul's Majesty is even better because you don't lose the creature.
They're both fine cards, particularly in a singleton format where redundancy is nice.

An instant is still better than a sorcery, though. I mean, it depends, but it's always nice to have combat tricks, and being an instant gives it instant (pardon the pun) Seedborn Muse synergy.

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

You make it sound as if it's expensive - "twice the cost" is still only four mana. Neither one is a card you're casting until later in the game anyway, and they're green, so two versus four mana is mostly irrelevant.
Momentous Fall is pretty junky, save for in a pure green deck, I can't stand it's double green cost, I wish it was 3G instead. As far as waiting till later in the game to use some thing like Life's Legacy, I mean it's pretty good early on to, a dumb beast token nets 3 cards for two mana, Sad Robot gets you 3 as well, so in both examples that's drawing 4 cards in a turn for two mana. Who cares about combat tricks, Life's Legacy can help draw into good stuff early on, it's an even dumber one shot with Skullclamp. I'd buy the "It's not good because it's not a instant" argument if it cost 4 mana or more, Yawgmoth's Will is a sorcery, it's good because it's cheap so you can cast it and do a bunch of dumb stuff, Life's Legacy is similar it only costs 2 so you can probably cast more stuff on your turn after you cast it, and it's still not lame if cast early on (like Yawg's Will).

Sorry, it's a great find but it's great AGAINST voltron decks, not in them. With Dense Foliage in play you cant use equipment or cast aura spells.
Incorrect - you can still equip creatures with dense foliage in play. No one can target them with spells, so it prevents spot removal, combat tricks and auras from being cast targeting creatures.
[EDH] It's built to be a casual format and to a specific vision, and if you don't like the vision, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not going to change to accommodate everyone. Big tent is not a goal.
My hidden gem for today is No Rest for the Wicked. I was actually a bit surprised it had not been mentioned sooner, its a fantastic card to play around in sacrifice decks like Jund.
Arcane Denial is the second best counterspell for multiplayer. Sure you're giving one of your opponents card advantage, but in multiplayer, that's not really that bad. Meanwhile, it comes with a draw for you!
What's the best counterspell then? Time stop. Can counter any of the following: spells, spells that can't be countered, spells with storm, activated abilities, triggered abilities, combat damage.
I'd like to add Pyrohemia and Deal Broker. Pestilence is already stellar and if anything putting it in red improves it. Bonus points with Repercussion, and it's just silly with Opalescence and Loxodon Warhammer. Deal Broker's actual ability gets buried under his pointless Conspiracy draft stuff, in practice he's a colorless 2/3 looter for 3 and that's pretty good.
Usually I could kill with Tendrils, but still... The mana that Skirge Familiar makes in ANT is absurd, and lets you do things a lot easier. One of the few five drops that deck played!
Tariff is good as a sort of Innocent Blood effect in a mono white deck.
I don't know why Oblivion Ring and friends get played, but I never see Icy Prison. It is blue exile creature removal, and has far more interesting multiplayer applications. Always fun to see who will pay the upkeep cost if it exiled a relevant creature. Plus, if you have a Stifle or Trickbind in hand and the player chose to leave their commander in exile thinking it will just come back when Icy Prison leaves the field, you can cast Stifle or Trickbind to permanently exile their commander for the rest of the game! Suck it new tuck rules! I have successfully gotten rid of annoying commanders such as Talrand and Zur before with this trick. It is so satisfying and awesome to pull this off, as it is really the only way to get rid of a commander for the rest of the game (barring some random retrieve from exile cards like Mirror of Fate or Pull from Eternity).
Thelonite Monk actually seems usable. In combination with token generation especially. Can shut down problem lands and slowly disrupt your opponents' colored mana production.
Graceful Antelope is similar. If at least one opponent is playing Plains, it'll eventually be unblockable to all opponents, and like the Monk can mess with their colored mana making.
Very meta-dependent, but Hidden Path and Aysen Highway do work, especiallly if you've some means to ensure opponents have Forests or Plains in play. They both play nice with devotion, too.
Cheers!

in a mono black deck, the tokens can help you go wide or help you get a lot of creatures for your sacrifice effects (which black has so much of)
plus you can sacrifice it to itself and bring it back to make more tokens

Was an allstar in my Ad Nauseam/Tendrils of Agony deck (Sygg/Oloro) - Tendrils couldn't always kill a table, but it killed the blue players. Then Exsanguinate and Skirge Familiar could take care of the rest.
Usually I could kill with Tendrils, but still... The mana that Skirge Familiar makes in ANT is absurd, and lets you do things a lot easier. One of the few five drops that deck played!
