Both Mana Severance and Mind's Desire have been in competitive combo decks historically, but they don't seem super popular in EDH. I've run Mind's Desire before and plan to again. Note that Abundance functions as safer Mana Severance for many purposes - not Narset - though you have reveal the cards and it also prevents you from decking.
Switcheroo has been really valuable for me due to the fact that it does not require you to have a creature to swap. I play it in my Talrand, Sky Summoner deck because I can usually swap a drake token for something big on my opponent's side but it really shines when it's disabling two bombs at once, like when I swap one player's Dwarven Blastminer for another player's Skyshroud Poacher.
I think this is my favor card of all time Spiny Starfish. Drop this card and regenerate the crap out off it and presto you have an instant army. Just find a way to add an attack bonus and your all set.

- Cast hidden strings, targeting two lands, and give Shu Yun double strike (prowess 1)
- Cast evasion spell, such as Distortion Strike (prowess 2, +1/+0 from distortion strike)
- Cast Sunforger (prowess 3)
- Attack with 7/5 double strike. After first strike damage, cast hidden strings targeting two lands (prowess 4)
- Deal 8 regular damage (15 total), cast hidden strings targeting 2 lands
- Second main, equip Sunforger and leave 2 mana open to search for Counterflux/Boros Charm/Swords to Plowshares/Wing Shards/Riot Control
It is just crazy to me that the turn I cast Hidden Strings I usually hit for about 15 damage and go to second main with all my mana untapped. If you have a Young Pyromancer or Monastery Mentor in play, you make 3 tokens off of the hidden strings alone.

I imagine a fair few of the blue Cipher cards are pretty good with Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest. Casting a spell to Draw 2 cards ( Last Thoughts ) making two tokens (Stolen Identity), and ruining a Voltron commander's day (Voidwalk)

Oath of the Gatewatch; the set that caused the competitive community to freak out over Basic Lands.

This all makes me think granting first strike could be important for Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest. If you want both cipher triggers and don't have a spell to grant double-strike right away, you can pay for double-strike between first strike and normal damage steps so you can get both casts.
IdK if its played a lot or even considered but has any one mentioned but Deathbringer Thoctar is one of my favorite cards ever gets a bit crazy with basilisk collar
deranged assistant is decent has some interactions in reanimate decks
and where is reprocess on the list
reprocess draws a bunch of cards and black is always looking for another way to sack.
Mining is one of those cards that I really like but still haven't found a good use for. It's such a powerful effect, but harder than it looks to play around. I've been considering trying to stick it into an Alesha list, along with the assortment of enchantment hate creatures and some ridiculous stuff like Planar Birth, which is a bit of a gem in its own right.

Mine is kind of paired with another card to break it but Soldevi Adnate is a nice little infinite mana guy with Umbral Mantle for black sac outlet decks. Pair this with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and you have some interesting interactions with ETB effects. I found this card in an old box of cards I went through when I started playing EDH.

Depends on your situation/board/deck. Adnate + Umbral Mantle would let you sac your whole board if the majority of your guys cost 3+. That could be good to set up for a Living Death or something. Adnate + Deathmantle attached to a creature with 4+ CMC would let you sac the same creature repeatedly for EtB/death triggers, but only once per turn without an untap engine.

Ive been having fun with Vodalian Illusionist its a psudo remover/saver and quite handy to have online
Soldevi Digger
A classic card forgotten by most players. Reito Lantern is more versatile but its never a bad idea to have a bit of redundancy in EDH.
You cannot outrun the beast within.
He's definitely under-rated as a commander. My Mageta "all wrath, all the time" deck has proven fairly effective.

Mine will definitely be running Stolen identity, but the post above has me really thinking about Hidden Strings.

If you like this, you can run Millikin as well, in any color!
Aggressive Mining and Oath of Lieges may be something to look into for a low CMC deck....

Do you mean Nim Deathmantle?
Edit: Actually, it would require both, but you need to be saccing something that costs at least 8 mana to get enough to go infinite.
