Ok, I have a few decks that I think you all would love to look at, mostly not because they are foil, but because of what's in them. I have a Cromat deck that is a blast to play and a Numot deck (although this one was the only General in these colors, he actually doesn't fit the theme of the deck, lol).
As for the rest of you, I am jealous and need to do this with my Cromat deck for sure!!!
Was quite bored today, decided to scan my deck. Sorry, everyone, but it is all in English. A bunch of foils, though.
Pimp! congrats on all the foil judge promos! a couple of my decklists are pretty pimp but i can't see myself ever investing in the foil promos just for pimpness.
Ok guys, at the moment I'm in the process of German Foiling my Glissa, the Traitor (Glissa die Verräterin, is such a killer name) deck.
So I'm interested in your opinion on this little bump I ran into.
What to choose for some 'older cards': Going for the German theme or for the (English) Foil? I'm talking about cards like Yawgmoth's Will, Gaea's Cradle, Demonic Tutor, Nevinyrral's Disk and co.
I say go for the German stuff over the foil stuff, since lots of people have English foil decks on this thread.

I think the progression should be:
German Foil
if not then
European Foil
if not then
English Foil
if not then
German non-foil
if not then
European non-foil

English non-foil
I think consistency in foiling is better than language consistency.
I have 2 decks completely foiled out that can be: Marrow-Gnawer and Kresh. I'm waiting for some alters to come back for each decks.
Marrow-Gnawer's not all that impressive due to 30% of it being Rats, but when I get the alters back that I'm waiting on, I'll put pictures up of both decks.
Altered cards in Kresh:
Bayou
Badlands
Taiga
Altar of Dementia
Volrath's Stronghold
Berserk
Altered cards in Marrow-Gnawer:
Volrath's Stronghold

Don't worry about it being in English. I actually prefer my cards to be English. The deck looks good with some foils. I am going to have to post mine up here soon. I have it nearly pimped enough to post.
So what's everyone's opinion on Foreign cards? I absolutely love Asian cards and the majority of my Grand Arbiter EDH is Chinese or Japanese. It looks awesome and I know what all my cards do, however at my LGS we are getting some newer players into EDH and every other card I cast I get asked "what does that do?" by 2 or 3 different people. It's easy with a card like Iridescent Angel, but explaining cards Sensei's Divining Top, Akroma, or Cryptic Command is really annoying and quite difficult. Has anyone else run into this problem with their love for foreign cards? I'm even considering trading away my foreign cards and trying to make my EDH completely English again, after all my hard work pimping it out I would hate to do that though. What do ya think?
Skullclamp cannot really be considered a best for it was banned upon release. I think the best card/most broken card on that list has to be Bloodbraid Elf. That card was too busted.

I too am a fan of foreign cards. Especially Japanese and German since I know those two languages. Italian isn't too bad, either.
I've never really had issues with explaining cards, though. I have English copies nearby usually if anyone doubts or becomes confused. And if I don't have English copies, I have my phone or my laptop usually to look them up. Most of the people who play around here are pretty well versed in the game and know their cards though.
Speaking of which, I just got another FBB German Sol Ring, an FBB German Sylvan Library, and an FBB German Fork. "Verdoppelung" is such a cool word.

I used to really like foreign cards, but I've traded all mine away now. Not just for having to explain them all the time, but for fairness. People should be able to read for themselves exactly what your cards say. I'm not new, but no-way can I remember the exact wording of every magic card played in edh. And people shouldn't just have to take your word for it. Most people would be surprised how often they get their own cards just a little wrong, especially when it comes to creature types or "may"/"must" abilities, which can have a huge impact on the play.
I can't stand foreign cards. Not only are they really annoying when someone doesn't know what the card does, they don't actually look better at all, in my opinion.

I like Japanese cards too, but because of my playgroup, pretty much all of my cards have to be in English.

Same here. I've never understood the fascination. At an Extended tournament I was at recently, I saw someone play their general, Sakashima the Impostor, incorrectly 3differentways during the same game...
I like a couple of the walkers better in foreign languages, and it's not too hard to keep a copy in English around. I've got Japanese versions of both Chandraas in my Kumano deck, for example. There are a few other walkers where another language just seems to fit as well.
Random other cards? Doesn't make any sense to me.

@Foreign Cards: I dislike them only because I hate taking someone's word for it. I got used to being the rules guru of our group, and as such I never trust what someone says until I prove it's true (Until I looked it up, my playgroup thought regeneration brought it back from the graveyard...even many turns later. Yeah, I cry a little thinking about those dark days).
Now, simple cards with a static ability or mana ability are fine, but personally I am picky with my foreign cards: it has to look just right. I am happy enough with Foils/Promos for my "Pimp".
I chose english for all my foils out of respect for the other people playing, and so I can let friends use my deck without "What does this card do?". Some foreign stuff is fine - lands, sols rings, heck even planeswalkers, stuff everyone knows. Other cards become a pain in the but though. Japanese Lovisa ColdEyes ... while you have a bunch of random goblins that may be warriors or shamans or what have you? NO!
Amendment to what I said about foreign cards: I am in love with Russian Foils in Red or Artifacts. Not sure why, but especially in Red it just screams awesomesauce.
Basic lands I accept as awesome for pimping into foreigns.

As a collector of dragon cards, I can attest to this. Old frame red cards in foil are the best looking cards in the game. Especially that 7th Edition Shivan Dragon. One of the best looking cards out there. Foil Russian Shivan Dragons are pretty awesome looking as well, even though they're in the new frame.
The Russian script has been growing on me. I at first thought it to be too "blocky" like Chinese cards, but now it's right up there with Japanese, German, and Korean as one of my favorites.

It is also an empirical fact that old-frame black cards look best in foil (e.g., Eternal Drifter's Mutilate)
Really? I find old frame black cards to be far and away the WORST looking card in foil.
We all have our own opinions though. I feel the same but to each his own. It is not like people will still not be impressed.
Mono-Black Oona, Queen of the Fae
Athreos, God of Passage
As for the rest of you, I am jealous and need to do this with my Cromat deck for sure!!!

Raff
Scarab
Rakdos
Wort ($50 budget, 94/97 foils)

Even better, GERMAN FOIL
But of course, that part goes without saying!

I cube, I play EDH, and I can't afford Legacy. The other formats can suck it.
