Also, aren't the tables at the brewery a little small for any more than three players? Or maybe you could take the beers upstairs, but all I remember seeing there are D&D players?
I'm most often not on that side anyway though because I'm forbidden from drinking beer. Not for age reasons, anyway.
Local! We usually snag either the 6 person one off to the side or grab one of the ones that the minis players in the back aren't using. We've also pushed a couple of the circular ones together before, which works even if it's not a great solution. Not really conducive to shooting Nerf guns either way.

Everyone has drinks on their tables these days. Also, deck boxes, plushies (for me at least). Also the guns themselves are cumbersome to carry.
On topic, I'm presuming that there isn't going to be much "overly-spiky" stuff from these tribal decks, however I have been surprised before. Also for people like me who opt not to build tribal at all, there will be very little from this set. I know most of my group will probably skip out on this one. I'm guessing supply might be a little less of an issue this time around.
*Which means I know exactly the people at that LGS who won't be excited about these decks because they are EDH spikes! I like pitting my builds against them though!*
MaRo ruled (don't have the link but it's on his blog) that "transformers" on Grimlock refers to DFCs with the transform mechanic (meld doesn't count).
Effectively, Grimlock is probably the best Werewolf Commander since he grants buffs to literally all Innistrad werewolves and is in the color identity of Rule of Law.
Considering werewolves and vehicles don't have enough optimal choices (mileage may vary) to make full-fledged deck on their own and while we don't know if the Dinosaurs as a whole will have that (I suspect not in terms of optimal choices as well, considering the typical design for limited reasons), I think it's safe to say that if Grimlock was a perfect-legal card, he would have saved 3 "sub-par" (like I said opinions may differ) "tribes" by lording over all of them at once. But since it's silver-bordered, it has to depend on if a playgroup allows it, if they do then well, they really are saved there.
Disclaimer I did not say that he made those themes/tribes competitive - all he grants is a power-buff after all, but all things considered when it comes to the quantity of quality picks in those themes/tribes, by making it sensible (from a Commander Choice POV), Grimlock has effectively introduced a lot of variety (or if not, at least passable novelty as opposed to unworkable/less elegant ones).
The rumor mill has sources which say 5c Dragons, Mardu Vampires, Grixis Wizards and GW Cats as this years offerings. Im interested in the vampire deck, wizards and the dragon spirit for a kamigawa theme deck straight off the bat. Time will tell on whether I actually get anything though.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
I think that just highlights the glaring issue with the Spike play groups who can't leave their try hard at the door to have "fun". I really hate how people use the "fun is subjective" card when "fun" obviously just means not taking everything so seriously and playing the game silly for a second. And if that isn't "their fun", well, then that says a lot about their personalities. Ultimate no fun zone have something to prove at all times, no Dinobots or rolling dice ever, MUST WIN. MUST SHOW EVERYONE HOW GOOD I AM AT THE GAME.
Can you tell I hate spikes in EDH yet?
As not a spike, I'm not interested in playing against Grimlock or Nerf War. Sitting while someone screws around with a Transformers figure sounds tedious as hell and I'm anti-people firing Nerf guns at a table covered in pricey cards and beers (most often play at a brewery connected to the LGS). Not wanting my game night to be full of wacky shenanigans doesn't mean I'm not having fun with it.
See, this is just the problem I was trying to point out. You can play your "well, fun is subjective card so that doesn't mean my fun is wrong" card, but here's the thing - you thinking it isn't fun to see someone "screw" around with a Transformer figure or nerf guns just screams you have basically zero sense of humor, which tells me that you are a stuck up super serious player in a setting that is designed for humor (un-card sets). This is just plain crappy to be around personalities like this, and this is the problem I have with the whole "fun" vs competitive debates and just people in general with their anti-humor attitudes where "your fun" is always so damn serious. It sucks. It's such a huge buzzkill to be around to be honest, and I find the people who can laugh and play un-card sets, casual EDH, variant formats, ie basically any format that isn't competitive tournaments, those people are the ones who can go both ways competitively and causally. The spikey types who are such wet blankets can't go both ways. I am always leery of anyone who can't see the value in anything silly.

Would it make sense to have a deck trying to cheat The Ur-Dragon into play (reanimater or what ever) just to have ather dragons trigger his attack ability?
Sounds somewhat fun, but difficult to built around... ideas?
Scion of the Ur-Dragon would seem to be a good general for this. You can get a turn of the Ur-Dragon's ability for 2 (plus he's a dragon to trigger it of course) then have it in the yard for later reanimation.

Okay congrats, you can bring your nerf gun. But you're going to pay up ANY of the damages you do by knocking over drinks, foodstuffs or anything else. And any potentional damages done to my cards. I do hope you pack a nice fat wallet to go with your nerf gun?
Seriously man, the hell happened to you? Did a Spike piss in your cereal or what? You're acting much, much worse than any Spike I ever seen. "OH GOD HE DOESN'T LIKE PLAYING THE WAY I DO WHICH INVOLVES TOTAL RANDOMNESS BURN THE WTICH" is the kind of vibe I'm getting from you. You can't see the fun people get from taking commander semi-seriously, and I can't see the fun in people who want to bring freaking nerf guns to a small enclosed space where drinks are often present. Agree to disagree, you have your fun, I'll have mine, but there's no need to constantly insult 'spikes' just because they prefer to play the game as it was intended. You'll note, for example, that NO silver-border cards are officially legal in the format. There are very good reasons for that.
But you're probably going to call me a sour spike anyway and ignore the actual argument as you've been doing with Weebo's. I hope you can prove me wrong.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I can't see the fun in people who want to bring freaking nerf guns to a small enclosed space where drinks are often present.
I know I'm getting a bit tangenty here, and I know being at a brewery probably doesn't mean anyone's getting belligerently drunk, but I'd take a playgroup full of nerf guns over a playgroup with a case of beer any day. The former could hurt my cards, the latter could hurt my cards and be really, really bad at magic (in my personal experience).

You're taking all of this far more seriously than any spike I've ever met.
You're reading a lot into me not wanting to spend my limited EDH time each week watching someone play with action figures or toy guns instead of cardboard dragons.
Un-cards are explicitly banned outside of house rules in this format, so I'm not sure how this is "a setting that is designed for humor (un-card sets)."
I'm pretty sure you're the only person I've met, online or off, who would describe me as a "super serious player" (which ties back to point 2).
Let's just both be glad we don't have to play with each other.
does anyone know when commander17 spoilers will start?
Either next week or the following one. Commander spoilers usually only last a week and finish at least a week before the set drops, so it's not like there's a huge window. I heard something about MaRo teasing spoilers next week, but haven't seen the source on that.

This is the first of four podcasts discussing the tribes of Commander 2017 (Edition). In this first week, we're talking about . . . Vampires! One week before C17 previews start, Alison shares everything she can share about the toothiest tribe—including a new legend people have been looking forward to meeting!
Ps this also confirms the main vampire on the picture is Edgar markov
Also truely confirms the mystery ladies tribe is wizards. (They said that's the next tribe they are talking about in these stories of commander 2017.)

thank you
this really makes me excited. i was never happy with any rakdos colored legend. but when i started mtg BR was my color pair. so secretly i allways hope for some better commander to suit my needs. this makes me hope once more - while also edgars art is nice XD.
And becaus of sorin being WB and Edgar being his grandfather this deck is like 99% chance it's mardu.
does anyone know when commander17 spoilers will start?
They have started. sadly at the moment, only the 6 we already knew about.
Officially, they haven't started. Those are leaks.
Officially they start the 9th i think
So a leak is not a spoiler? Unlike Ixialan these leaks are at leas legible.
Not an official one. Technically, spoilers aren't official until Wizards or a site Wizard sent the spoilers to posts them. In the case of the cards we know, they've been posted by someone who got his hands on the cards well before he was supposed to (The dragons) and a site that accidentally put up a picture on its site (The cat).

Isn't salvation a site that gets official spoilers from wizards I mean i know it is a fan run site but i thought WotC acknowledged the site as an official site.
Or are the spoilers till just the leaks and there is no affiliation at all between Salvation and WotC?

There's a lot of history there going back about as far as the site has existed (look up the Rancored Elf lawsuit for one example). There are more recent things with MTGS and spoilers but I don't recall where I read them and whether or not they're common knowledge, so I don't want to go into any farther than that. Suffice to say MTGS is definitely not affiliated with WotC and is definitely not official.

yeah - chance - but i hope for rakdos because if he is the granddayddy maybe that W comes from the grandmother or whoever?!?!
i think we just got alot of mardu support in recent times. man i remember when it was just Oros, the Avenger and no other mardu general. ok gotta admit rakdos also got its legends printed but man all of them are ........hm........... not that i didnt try them but nothing worked out kinda on a normal powerlevel. theyre all so underwhelming. those mardu legends all kick butts. also tymna bruse partners is a beast of a deck.
Unfortunately for you Edgar is Mardu. He gets his white because when he was prodded into creating vampirism by a demon he was looking for a way to deal with a famine his people were going through. And also because
Ixalan has white vampires
Sorin's white comes from his looking out for the people of Innistrad, both human and vampire.
Balan seems a strong voltron. You wrath, blink him in response, then reattach when he returns. Gives you a lot of room for interesting equipment that maybe had too high of equip costs to make the cut.
We get spoilers for C17 soon, right?
