Yeah but the Collector is also a nice counter to any Notion Thief's running around and trying to draw a lot of cards off anyone.
Huh that is actually a tough call. Since notion thief would cancel Alms draw. Since notion thief is only drawn one card though alms would not be activated again.
This would need a ruling, i'll go ask the ruling committee.
The way both work is that one one use of a replacement effect can happen at a time, that is why having 2 Notion Thief's in play doesn't create an infinite loop.
So in the case of 2 players
A G/W player and a second player with Notion Thief
If the G/W player say cast a Harmonize NT would trigger giving that player 3 cards and then Collector would trigger replacing that and then both people would just end up drawing 1.
When you add more players it becomes the choice of the active player how they want effects to stack which becomes trickier.
Notion Thief is still generally superior obviously because it doesn't care about number drawn.
Both can be used with a Consecrated Sphinx to draw their controller out of cards, however Collector is riskier.
According to the rules section, Notion thief disregards Alms collector. Yes alms collector changes the actual # of cards drawn to 2, but notion thief draws both. Alms collector would not get the draw from it.
There was more clarification on it and it makes sense now that Notion Thief is an ability contained within Collectors ability so Collector modifies first and then Thief goes to work.
Bloodforged Battle-Axe with a doublestriker gets you 2 tokens.
Attack next time, with all 3 equiped gets you another 6 tokens.
With Balan, Wandering Knight for example, you could equip the new tokens before the normal combat damage is dealt.
Could somebody do the math for me, please?
3/3 with 3 Axes that give +2/+0, so 9/3.
9 Damage in the first strike damage segment, gets you 3 more Axe-tokens.
Equip them all for 1w, so another +6/+0 makes Balan 15/3. So another 15 damage, means 24 total (and another 3 tokens). Correct?
sounds correct. With a doubling season you are getting a lot of tokens.
EDIT: Balan may actually become a deck and while he does not get access to any of the green doublers, Anointed Procession is an option.
OMG, Summon kindred looks broken. May be fine for the pre-con but put it in a Wort, the Raidmother tribal deck ad you will be puking out goblins. plus teh conspire, and access to red twincasts like Fork
Absolutely gross.

Balan + Clonesplitter
First hit: Get a second Clonesplitter in play.
Attach all equipments with his ability.
Second hit: Get two more Clonesplitters in play.
Turn later you attack with a 11/3 Balan who makes 4 more axes on the first hit and 8 more on the second hit.
So at end of the next turn you have a 35/3 Balan. GG.

Hey gruul has some good spells. GUR is a better combination of colors but aside from riku, no great spellslinger cards.

I've already got Wort spellslinger. The deck's primary focus is to fork Goblin Game as many times as possible. NOBODY WINS THE GOBLIN GAME!

Is this comment saying that U doesn't contribute anything to spellslinger decks? Because that's how it's coming across.I really like Kindred Discovery. Triggering on tokens makes that an extremely powerful effect that could find a place outside of dedicated tribal builds. Attack trigger potentially shrinks the window where it does nothing and gets removed significantly, which is nice.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.

Challenge accepted. Time to put my math degree to the test. Come back later for a possible answer.
Oh, and by the way, your math is wrong, sorry to say. Balan is 5/3 then 7/3 then 11/3 then 19/3 and so forth. Giving 12 commander damage the first combat phase then 30 then 102 and so forth.
EDIT:
Here's the answer: If you equip all Bloodforged Battle-Axe between the first strike and normal strike, the number of Bloodforged Battle-Axes you will control is doubled. The rundown: Balan, Wandering Knight has the axe equipped. After first strike, you get a token. Before dealing the second strike, equip it with 1W. Now there are 4 axes in play (paying 1W more equips them all at end of combat). Balan is now 11/3 at end of combat. However, he gave a total of 12 commander damage (first strike being 5/3 and then the second strike being 7/3).
If you do this again, with Balan having 4 axes equipped, during first strike 4 more tokens are created. If you pay 1W and equip them all, he'll create 8 more after the second strike. At the end of that combat you'll control 16 Bloodforged Battle-Axes.
EDIT:
Bonus info:
If you want to know how much commander damage is given each subsequent turn, here's the total number of commander damage given by Balan each combat phase:
1st time: 12
2nd time: 30
3rd time: 102
Basically, Balan gives 3Ni commander damage each combat, where Ni is a number from the given series (and i corresponds to the position of that number in the series):
4, 10, 34, 94, 214, 424, 760, ...
I'm currently working on producing the generating function of this series. I found the pattern, now I just have to generate it. It's 4 levels deep so it's not gonna be a pretty formula, lol. But I doubt anyone can win a game after receiving 34 commander damage anyways. But, math is my jam so once I get that done I'll post it, lol. Unless someone beats me to the punch. It's not complicated, it's a 4-level arithmetic pattern.

Scalelord Reckoner looks really fun. I always enjoyed Karmic Justice.
If Territorial Hellkite is any fun, it'll be because of that low cost.
I absolutely love Kindred Discover. Drawing cards is great and it seems really easy to abuse. I saw mention of a combo with Locust God that is just filthy. Path to Ancestry is decent budget manafixing at worst and a scry engine on top of that at best. Good design and solid card. Kindred Summons is a wonderful Timmy card.
I really like Herald's Horn for the dragons and any other tribe that is expensive. Reducing cost and possibly netting cards is so strong it could very well so play in other tribal decks. Bloodline Necromancer is decent value.

No the exact opposite. I meant aside form riku GUR has no good generals for spellslinging.
Already have enough mana fixing for my tribal needs,so it's a pass from me.
I think you guys are *****ting on the card for no reason.
Sure etb tapped is a real cost but that doesn't make it unplayable. If you look at edhrec's top lands you can see that that shard lands see a lot of play and for a good reason. Path of Ancestry is far better than those lands. Even if your commander doesn't share any creature types with other cards the scry 1 is still pure upside.
I think only a deck that has a really low curve and never casts its' commander (something like ad nauseum) should run this but every other deck should at least consider it.

Simic Visionary[/card], Zombie in The Scarab God/Grim-Grin, Corpse Born. I think this card is much stronger than Bident of Thassa and Coastal Piracy because you get to draw on attack, not on combat damage, even if it is restricted to a single creature type.

If you equip all Bloodforged Battle-Axe between the first strike and normal strike, the number of Bloodforged Battle-Axes you will control is doubled. The rundown:
Balan, Wandering Knight has the axe equipped. After first strike, you get a token. Before dealing the second strike, equip it with 1W. If you do this again, with Balan having 4 axes equipped, during first strike 4 more tokens are created. If you pay 1W and equip them all, he'll create 8 more after the second strike. At the end of that combat you'll control 16 Bloodforged Battle-Axes.
Thus, the formula is very simple:
Paying 1W before Balan's second strike will double the amount of Bloodforge Battle-Axes attached to Balan, Wandering Knight.
