I'm really not sold on Aurelia. If you take her Extra Combat Phase as All Your Creatures Strike Twice, then yes, she doubles the power you bring. However, your 5/5 still gets killed by a 6/6. Whereas with Gisela, the opponent needs a 10/11 to deal with a 5/5. That, to me, is worth the one extra mana. Gisela grants your entire army such a huge buff, that second combat phase looks almost silly barring a lot of extra work (Swords triggers are an example, yes, but still).
don't forget that r/w is the masters of combat. By the time you play Aurelia, they won't be that many things that can block her. The other issue that she is less threatening than Gisela and will probably last longer. She also has haste so there's a much better chance of Aurelia lasting a turn to smash faces in. All in all I think she'll be different from Gisela. They're both better in different situations. I think they're both perfectly fine generals.
Domri and Sarkhan Vol play really well together, don't they? Domri fills your hand with creatures, Sarkhan gives them haste. Sarkhan threatens a creature, Domri uses it to fight and trade with another creature. Sarkhan makes an army of dragons, Domri makes them all into Gruul-kromas.
I am in love with the word Gruul-kroma's. I must now build a Gruul based deck for this 'walker.
Emmara is like the worst parts of Legends and Homelands got pregnant, aborted the fetus, tossed it in the trashcan, set it on fire and wrapped the corpse in a Dragon's Maze pack wrapper.

Creature - Merfolk Wizard (U)
Evolve (Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, if that creature has greater power or toughness than this creature, put a +1/+1 counter on this creature.) 1U,T: Move a +1/+1 counter from Simic Fluxmage onto target creature.

The mechanic in general is fantastic for Momir Vig, depending on how playable the individual creatures are in Commander. The Fluxmage here is already potentially playable in Animar, I think.
That's difficult to judge without seeing other green and blue commons and uncommons in the set. For all we know, this could turn out to be a fairly important card for Simic draft archetypes. Rarity isn't assigned in a vacuum.
Oh, I know that drafts ruin a lot of a set's potential
Speak for yourself. I love playing limited, so cards like these are very much not wasted on me, or the thousands of other players who also enjoy draft and sealed.
If they make a one-drop creature with evolve it'll probably be G for a 0/1. I think that would actually be fine.
Edit: I'm definitely in the 'only cares about constructed' group. Still, this guy is worth being an uncommon for limited. He makes combat math absolutely abysmal for your opponent.
I actually like the evolve ability, and could see a lot of ways to abuse it. Will have to wait and see more, but as it goes I like it better than a lot of the abilities I saw in RTR.

Yea to me they also look neat. I wanna see how much support they put into it. If theres a cool general it might be fun to build around. If anything, these could add something to experiment kraj decks.
you realize what this means right? Someone is going to do an alter of an evolve card and make it into a pokemon. It'd be even better if there was a vertical cycle.
Anyway. Interesting ability, but not interesting at the same time. It feels like there will be cool tricks you can do with evolve and it will be a blast in limited. At the same time the design doesn't feel new. Don't you think we've been inundated with +1/+1 counters lately? I think I'm just bored with +1/+1 counters. Yep that must be it.
I find the Evolve Mechanic to be perfect, sense Vorthos EDH players will want to be able to put new Simic and old Simic together, how better than with a mechanic that uses +1/+1 counters and can move counters about (like this card, though not as much as i would like)
Evolve looks terrible. I also adore it and will be trying to play it and I hope Zegana makes it amazing somehow.
It actually just feels like a Graft variant to me. I do think that there could be some design opportunities with it - we got an uncommon :shrug - in some of the rare cards where isn't not just big but janky.

Experimental Kraj
Evolve works well with graft and the overall ETB abuse that GU seems inclined to use, but it bores me. At least we get more merfolk!
