Finally a dragon Zirilan can get excited about! I've gotten so tired of these standard-oriented 5-drop dragons.
God, me too. I mean at least Glorybringer and Thundermaw Hellkite have EDH potential but stuff like Skarrgan Hellkite and Verix Bladewing are boring and underwhelming in every possible way once your draft games are over. Granted Drakuseth is likely better in your Zirilan than my The Ur-Dragon I just still appreciate seeing a stupidly splashy dragon again after all this time.
Oh, you like my decorations? I've just been adding some trinkets to add some interest to the room...this little elephant statuette, a craft project my kid made, an 800-pound warhammer...
That hammer is so abusable in EDH...
We also now have a stifle that can also counter commanders and planeswalkers

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Solid counter, though. Not sure if it's good enough for the 'griff, but it's at least meta-dependent. I've been pretty impressed with ability counters lately.
Bag of Holding sounds more like it should give you an unlimited hand size
It sort of does, in a roundabout way. Mechanic feels like a flavor-win to me, tbh (idk how the loot ability is supposed to work, flavor-wise, or why it has to be sacrificed to recover the items, but whatever).
In any tabletop game that includes it, such as D&D, A bag of holding is a bag that within it has an extradimensional space for the storing of objects and creatures. The difference comes with that normally you could just grab an item out of the bag when you wanted it, but the card doesn't provide that option and opts for instead the "all or nothing" approach that could also be done with the bag.
As for the loot ability, it replciates the idea of an adventurer coming across new loot and either keeping on their person (in hand) or storing it for later (discard+exile) inside the bag.
Funny you mention that. My bag had a dragon inside it. (Another party member Hada bag filled with fireballs (expending all I used spells each day, filling the bag with fireballs. We come up to a boss and he would turn his bag inside out, Nuking the boss.
Bag of holding seems fairly u deflowered in comparison to what it does.
Y'all do realize cage is a reprint from Dark Ascension, right? Dark Ascension AND MM17.
I was kind of out of magic during the time of dark Ascension. And I did t really pay much attention to spoilers. I mean I do now, (but mainly just scan everything and pay attention to the ones that stand out)
(I don't think it is big enough for its own thread and is about new cards changing old mechanics)
I only think there are 2 possibilities here:
1) They thought they were just cleaning up rules and didn't realize it's a functional change.
2) They've designed more cards with splice to print in the near future and didn't realize how broken splice spells that target get before sending them to the printers, so they panicked and changed rules sneakily hoping less people would notice their negligence when such cards release.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."

There weren't previous storm spells that are also arcane, so they're probably just an oversight. As it is, I think splice-onto-instant/sorcery would work with storm en mass.

Its perfect for my Urza-tron deck!
My reaction on reading it was :whoa and that flavor text makes me think of Hamilton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrMkdZtqiVI

For more Mappo flavour stick a Colossal Hammer in it.
Made me think of D&D more than anything, but Malazan flavour is way better.

Splice just doesn't work like it did before after MH1 so if you are being sneaky with those cards I would advise you to reevaluate
