It doesn't protect planeswalkers anymore due to the rules change, as shown by how they reworded sanctity with this reprint.
We knew it didn't protect PWs from damage redirection any more. But usually people play this in EDH to protect their commander from Edicts and protect against storm. In other formats it is often to stop burn, discard and edicts.
Protecting Planeswakers was a bonus but far from the main reason to play the card.
The Jeskai Spellslinger is sweet. Tough feels random that it makes spirits, wished it could make Birds instead.
I know right? the fact that he is a bird and makes spirit while not caring about birds irks me.
Especially since we are getting empyrean eagle as a "bird lord". That's a spirit lord too, yeah...
poor birds
By the way Rienne is growing on me every second, i'm thinking to make a silly stompy with her just to scream "IT'S AN ANGERU!" everytime i cast her

How i feel about competitive players and casual players in EDH: The competitive are german tourists, the casual are italian tourists, both in a italian beach. The italians asking themselves "why are the germans here?" make a legitimate question, the answer is because the beach is beautiful, no matter the country you came from. The italians wanting to ban the germans are dumb, because if the germans pay for their stay and follow the rules like everyone else, they have the right to be in the beach. Hovewer, if the germans started to ask themselves "why are the italians here?"... they would be dumb as hell.
Scheming Symmetry goes straight into Erebos. Besides the obvious political implications, but it's a one mana topdeck tutor that can be immediately drawn with Erebos out making it a makeshift Grim Tutor. This pleases me.
So I was braining Ephara flying/token deck just moments before I saw Kykar, Wind's Fury. If red had more to offer to 'I intend to beat down with small flying creatures, most of which tokens'... I was heavily tempted to do a swap.
'Course the other problem is that my Zedruu is kinda awesome and I try to not have multiple decks of same color combos for just sheer logistics' sake. Sometimes I fail, but... I try?
...though the moment an Azorius legend comes out that screms to me 'create a deck', that swap might be rather more likely and I'll find myself with two Jeskai decks.

Yep yep yep! Pillowfort yourself with artifact and enchantments then strike back with all your spirits. Or use all the white aura-based stuff to build an aura deck. They are a different enchantress build than the green version, but it's a route nonetheless! I never thought a variant of Monastery Master would become a legend!

If we go enchantress, it's possible to go aura with Tiana, Ship's Caretaker, and bestow technically allow you to cast creature spell as an enchantment (which becomes a non-creature spell).
red one looks pretty bad, but it may be better in standard or modern.
It already has probably the best leyline that continues to be in extremely high demand in all formats it's legal in. It's currently a 50$!!!! card. Reprint is welcome.
So does anyone think the new Kaalia will actually be useful instead of just being a niche card in old Kaalia?
I hope tomorrow we will get an awesome legend

The article mentioned that it has Standard in mind, and three mana for a flying/vigilance is not bad at all, if one could find the mana for it. I don't think any Standard deck would have all three types of angel/dragon/demon in it, but it's definitely possible to have one of the heavy beaters in the deck for you to fetch when Kaalia enters.
Hmm...new kaalia seems pretty meh in old kaalia. You'd have to be pretty lucky to draw 3 off of it, and I think most good versions of kaalia aren't running THAT many actual fatties (I'm sure 3drinks will let us know his opinion at some point )
Golos is...hmmm. I like being able to tutor any land to play, but I worry he's a boring must-kill commander because of the other ability. Obviously it's pretty potent with any top-of-deck tutor, and he can run all of them, so letting him live is pretty risky. And even without topdeck control, it's just a lot of potential value.
It is kind of interesting that you could run him as a pseudo-monocolor commander or something, and then fetch cascading cataracts or something to activate the ability.
For the longest time, the only five color legends were these dumb tribal lords like Reaper King and Atogatog. There were a handful of other cards like Cromat and Progenitus that didn't care about tribes, but these were ineffectual if not outright counterproductive as is the case with Child of Alara. Eventually, Wizards printed Ramos, Dragon Engine and Jodah, Archmage Eternal, and these were a step up, but they too left a lot to be desired. Ramos got too big if I cast too many spells, and that incentivized me to just attack players. Jodah encouraged me to fill my deck with expensive cards, and while I could sometimes make use of his mana discounting ability, he was really designed for something else entirely.
Also, I think it's only fitting that Golos throws back to Solemn Simulacrum which is a card I'm notorious for *****ting on. Because of course the guy who has always sweared against Sad Robot would find his perfect commander in one.

But now I have Golos! Oh boy, do I love this card. I was already salivating over Urza's ability to Mind's Desire for one, but for 2 mana more I get to Mind's Desire for three? On my Commander? I'm in heaven! It's like a mini Aminatou's Augury. And finding one of my crucial nonbasics is nothing to slouch at either.

Golos does seem pretty good for your deck. Keeping the cards flowing from the command zone can't hurt!
Field of the Dead is a neat utility land. Landfall - make a zombie is a decent ability on a land and the condition is achievable in a lot more decks than something like Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or Emeria, the Sky Ruin. I also appreciate that it rewards you for running some snow basics and that those can help turn it on in basic heavy lists. ETB tapped is a downside and colorless only hurts, but I appreciate that it opens it up to every deck in the format. I like this a lot overall.
Golos, Tireless Pilgrim is good. I'm kind of burnt out on 5C legendaries that are clearly aimed at EDH right now. This is number 6 in about the last year, including 3 in the last set alone.

Yeah, the WUBRG activation costs is getting tiresome.

Golos, Tireless Pilgrim's ability is soooo much better than Urza, Lord High Artificer. Urza makes you shuffle your library prior to revealing the top card where Golos just takes the top 3. This is absolutely bonkers with something like Jace, the Mind Sculptor or Scroll Rack that allow you to manipulate the top of your library. Golos is ridiculous if you can cast it and activate it with any semblance of topdeck control, and the fact that it helps you get to the 7 mana required and gives you a shuffle to boot (allowing you to improve your Brainstorm effects) prior to activating it makes this a force to be reckoned with. This is good stuff.
So you are telling me there is a 5C legend that not only finds my Serra's Sanctum but allows me to use all that mana late game and not have to use Jodah or Ramos always for enchantress, hell ******* yeah time to start building.
Flood of Tears let's wipe the filed and then let me drop this big guy back, while everyone else has to rebuild. Field of the Dead landfall land could be bonkers

I'n confused...are you saying that Kykar, Wind's Fury is a aura/enchantress/pillowfort legend? Because I don't see it....
It's probably the pseudo-prowess. You could totally go enchantress/fort theme on this and build an army in the process.
