I think I fell in love with Yawgmoth. He is my new mono-B deck. He's just so gorgeous and does everything black wants to do...
I'm probably going to slot Urza in at the head of my current Sai deck. Does anyone have any best guesses about Urza's being ban-worthy? (I hope he's not!)
Ooh boy, that land is spicy. Possibly Phelddagriffable. And makes me hopeful that we'll see the full cycle completed. Maybe in another 20 years or so, judging from the rate so far.
Green is obviously going to be lands. But will red be planeswalkers or instants? Planeswalkers seems relatively safe, but doesn't really fit red's color pie particularly. Sorceries is (hopefully) off the table given how easy it is to go infinite turns, but is instants possible without being broken? I don't think there's any infinite turn combos, but I might be forgetting something else broken. Obviously 1v1 even recurring counterspell is pretty gross, so maybe it's just not possible.

To stay on theme, these recur-to-the-top lands have to recur a different permanent-type. Volrath's Stronghold (creature) came out in 1998, Academy Ruins (artifacts) in 2006, and this one (enchantments) in 2019. So it's going to be a long time before they come out with the green one for lands. Over/Under at another 8 years?
They might even have a new permanent type by then for red to recur? Or it could get a subtype (e.g. Legendary, snow?)

Legendary would be interesting. Basically planeswalkers+++. Could recur legendary sorceries even...could get kinda gross.

Future Sight could be useful..with top deck manipulation Throes of Chaos looks like a perfect for chaos decks or something
Future Sight has been legal for almost the entire history of the format and is definitely a solid card if you can swing the U-heavy casting cost on an enchantment that doesn't impact the board on its own. Meta dependent but strong.
I have no idea how to feel about Throes of Chaos. I like the design a lot. I'm not sure I like the card.
Dead of Winter is probably the best reason for a snow manabase in mono-B unless you were in the market for a second Pestilence. Snow still feels like it's going to be a mostly mono-color thing, possibly two colors. There's not a ton of fixing (an allied tapland cycle and Coldsteel Heart before this set) and three colors are probably not going to want to be basic heavy, which is where most of the snow permanent count comes from. I do like that it effectively gives some more incentive for mono-colored decks in the format.
Pashalik Mons getting a card is going super deep and I like it. That's a solid goblin on its own merits too.

I was like "don't I have this already?" but i was confusing Precognition Field with it,which I run in my jhoria deck..On Thin Ice can either lock down a creature for the whole game or just as long as an O-ring if your running the snow lands.
Oooh, I like how you think. That is a pretty reasonable guess. Although then I think they have to put the confusing fossil find text on there.
EDIT: actually, looks like they've not done that on any cards recently. I guess you just need to be really careful when playing grave-order-matters cards alongside stuff like charmbreaker devils and kheru lich lord. Make a wish is even basically identical to fossil find except for the grave reorder text.
Remind me never to play corpse dance alongside those cards, sounds like a nightmare.

The rule though:
3.13 Graveyard Order
In formats involving only cards from Urza’s Saga and later, players may change the order of their graveyard at any time. A player may not change the order of an opponent’s graveyard.
Which is funny because players can check each other's graveyard at all time, how am I suppose to "randomly" pick a card from graveyard if me or my opponent happened to memorized the order already. :3 Am I suppose to write the order down, shuffle it, pick a card at random, then rearrange it back to the way it was? Yes, that's pretty nightmarish.
I doubt the red one would be instant and sorcery, since it's way too easy to abuse with extra turn spells, even if it limits to spells with low cc. If there's one, I presume it'd be Keral Keep, School of Pyromancers?

Die or random number generator on a phone is the easiest way to do it. I maintain GY order out of habit (despite it not actually mattering in many/most EDH games) and it's usually not too bad. I don't run into a lot of random recursion effects, though.

So, I'm super giddy about Llanowar Tribe. Tapping for three unconditionally on 3-drop is completely unheard of. Hell, with the exception of Thran Dynamo, you can't tap for three unconditionally on a 4-drop either. If you can cast this card, it is undoubtedly one of the best at ramping period.

Maybe in other formats but i would not run it in EDH. I feel there are so many good green ramp that a 3 drop is just not worth it. Now if you are ramping a three drop for more mana, different story. (like braid of fire a two drop that grants you extra mana every turn, sure only on your upkeep, but you are in red. Cast a comet storm with that extra mana, pay for upkeep costs...)

So many times I would dredge Life from the Loam and end up with Exploration in the graveyard.

yea, superfriends are going to be VERY happy.

i can't think of anything that's a complete wipe-out though, like academy ruins and mindslaver is. stasis?

Black would be lands. (Though red is the MLD color.)
Chances are if they do a PW version of the card, it would be another huge wave of PWs printed in the same set. (Much like war of the spark)
Thing is, in 90% of cases I see. When a PW is dead, they did their job.
