Boy, I sure can't wait until Sisay can tutor for Urza's Ruin and wrath a board or Kamahl's Druidic Vow and basically gen-wave(/sarcasm). That being said, I'm pretty excited for Jhoira as our first artifact-related Izzet commander as well as Helm of the Hosts shenanigans. Jodah looks like an interesting 5c commander for a variety of purposes. I do kind of want to experiment with counter manipulation on the sagas (especially the phyrexian one).
it changed now but earlier t was just showing masters25
Lgendary soceries... WHAT?
where have you been for the last week? lol
lacking a functional computer.
Sadness on the stack...I'm also unsure about Legendary soceries
Thanks for the support. i have one now, but Internet is really shotty (Web browser only) (But i can play online games no problem (and no lag), so there is that.)
I really like the RW legendary. Looks like fun. (But this is the set I have been waiting for. AN EDH SET!
I also like new teferi. I might rebuild Superfriends. And Jhoira is also nice, STORM!

Yea, Sisay is going to be really good. Tutor up soceries, legendary creatures, Planeswalkers... Luckily Sisay is only in GW and no all 5 color.

This is the first set since Fate Reforged that i'm considering buying a box. As of now i'm expecting Sisay to go up in price as well....

Yea, i wanted to get one when PWs became legendary but her price shot up. Now this set will boost her price even more than my budget. Right now she is 25-30 bucks and will probably e jumping up to 40+.
I am really looking forward to Firesong and Sunspeaker (And maybe I will split a box with my friend)
I really want to like Firesong and Sunspeaker just because they aren't the same generic Boros combat legend like always, but why do they have to cost 6? With zero immediate board impact I might add.

I have a similar complaint, but I'm probably going to build them anyways. Turning Lightning Helix into 9 damage and 6 life is too tempting for me to pass up. I'll pull the deck apart when it can't stick the general and I get annoyed with having to ramp to 8/10/12 mana for sweet plays - I'm just hoping that the stars align and things go right at least once before that happens.

[Pr]Jaya | Estrid | A rotating cast of decks built out of my box.
I feel like you can put enough damage doublers, spell copiers, big spells, tricks, etc. in the deck where FS&SS on the field isn't *that* important. Its abilities are not totally game warping, they just add value to some spells and a ton of value to a select few.
With 6 CMC and an ability that does nothing unless you cast something, I would never cast FS&SS without a). an immediate way to protect him (e.g. boots or greaves,) or b). being able to immediately follow up with something like Blasphemous Act the same turn.
With this mindset, I'd certainly limit the number of cards that are basically unplayable without FS&SS on the field, e.g. Blessed Wine

Blessed wine is totally playable w/o them - I mean it's obviously very unexciting but it cycles itself. I guess it's unplayable in the sense that I would never choose to put it in my deck without them, but it's mostly just (admittedly weak) air. If you have them on the board, it's great. If you don't, it's just a minor inconvenience.

Right, it feels like it's just going to be another deck where you're forced to ramp to 10 in order to get anything done. I would happily deal with them being a 1/1 if it meant I could play them on turn 2 or 3.

i've played nearly 30 games with Muldrotha and let me tell you! pretty good. i've built the deck around abusing etb triggers running, panharmonicon, the closet, helm of the host, strionic and what not. Muldrotha is gitrog and glissa in a single card but gives you blue too... played against darien, zacama, and kess. i've seen a lot of lists going heavy on self mill and i'd say that strategy is good but risky. with my current build bouncing back from grave hate isn't too bad. love it!
Teshar is a combo king, right? Or is that too many pieces?
I suspect that Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle is going to see more use as an amazing value engine than as a combo engine. Since it's a cast trigger that requires a target, you're going to need at least 2 other cards to get it going, and tbh I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would work with only 2 cards in mono-W. If you're fine with your combo being Commander + 3 cards, you have plenty of choices, of course (Junk Diver/Myr Retriever/Scrap Trawler/Workshop Assistant + 0-cost artifact + sac outlet being the one that springs to mind), but since there are Commanders that can insta-win with 0-1 other cards, I don't see Teshar as the best option for pure combo.
I do like the curve of the Altar of Dementia into Scrap Trawler into Teshar + Memnite win, though.

Makes me wonder if a Jeskai Egg deck is possible adding Johoira to the mix, though who'd be the lead? Perhaps Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest so we can abuse his ability?
Well I built mono-W Eggs with Yosei, the Morning Star years ago. I have to imagine that Teshar is just better at it, and so would any commander that gives you more colors.
Personally, I would be interested in seeing a Teshar hatebears approach. The only thing more annoying than Hushwing Gryff is a Hushwing Gryff that just won't go away. Sounds great.
Edit: Not to mention that a lot of the hatebears are legendary and would trigger Teshar themselves, e.g. Thalia, Thalia 2, Linvala, Hokori
Tasigur is able to build temporary allies sometimes and other times he can be not great. In contrast, Muldrotha will not make you any allies unless the whole table for some reason needs you to keep a fresh pernicious deed out there every turn (you might detect my sarcasm). Perhaps Kess needs you to keep hitting her library with Gonti and Mindseeker lol. But wait Atlas, Kess wants cards in the gr... Bojuka Bog on repeat! Command Beacon on loop. Muldrotha is very good but you'll get pressured heavily if there isn't another major threat.
I'm running animate dead, dance of the dead, and necromancy. These three enchantments and a sac outlet, perhaps greater good and ashnods, WILL break the table's back.
My main concern, and it's likely just my list, there's no winning on the spot. There is just chipping away and life totals until it's over. I'll say this though, I milled a player out with Mindseeker over three turns!! That's not easy in Commander but apparently can be a back up win con later game!!
Conclusion: Muldrotha in general, or perhaps my list, is flexible to the state of the game. Individual lists will have their own tone but I suggest y'all at least try an etb abuse list if possible. I can post my list to anyone interested or message it.
Zahid, Djinn of the Lamp4UU Legendary Creature - Djinn (R)
Flying
You can pay 3U and tap an artifact you control instead of paying the mana cost of this spell. 5/6 "I do what I want, insignificant mortal, but do not stop telling me about your wishes: I am amused by them."
1) Pretty sure, if I'm reading this correctly, he dodges commander tax.
2) He has built in evasion.
3) Hes basically a legendary Mahamoti Djinn after being cast.
4) Because one of the conditions to use an alternate casting for him is simply "tap an artifact", you could tap a pair of Swiftfoot Boots or Hammer of Nazahn and still equip it to him.
5) Indestructible artifacts are very useful for him. Darksteel Ingot, Darksteel Citadel, Darksteel Forge, Darksteel Axe, Darksteel Plate and Shield of Kaldra seem like auto-includes for Zahid.
6) Since he cares about artifacts, typical colorless and cards interact with artifacts should be considered like for example Memnarch or Academy Ruins.
7) Since there is no "as a sorcery" for when he can be cast, things like Leyline of Anticipation and Vedalken Orrery should be considered.
Besides being the first legendary djinn, its really, really not interesting. And its a rare...
Also, I'm pretty sure this doesn't dodge commander tax, because you still have to cast the spell.
For mono blue voltron, I think I'd rather have something like Thada Adel, Acquisitor who comes down earlier and accrues value over the game, or Uresh, Criosphinx Sovereign who has an ETB. This guy is certainly the largest for the cost.
I'm not inspired by this guy.
As for the other spoilers, I'm looking to pick up a foil of Urza's Ruinous Blast. I'm loving that card frame and art.
Commander tax is an additional cost, so you still have to pay when casting with an alternate cost. Zahid ticks up in cost like most commanders.
Quote from Comp Rules »
601.2f The player determines the total cost of the spell. Usually this is just the mana cost. Some spells have additional or alternative costs. Some effects may increase or reduce the cost to pay, or may provide other alternative costs. Costs may include paying mana, tapping permanents, sacrificing permanents, discarding cards, and so on. The total cost is the mana cost or alternative cost (as determined in rule 601.2b), plus all additional costs and cost increases, and minus all cost reductions. If multiple cost reductions apply, the player may apply them in any order. If the mana component of the total cost is reduced to nothing by cost reduction effects, it is considered to be {0}. It can’t be reduced to less than {0}. Once the total cost is determined, any effects that directly affect the total cost are applied. Then the resulting total cost becomes “locked in.” If effects would change the total cost after this time, they have no effect.
I'm glad to see the power level of removal ticking up a little bit. Fall into Oblivion is guaranteed to miss at least one creature per deck but is otherwise a decent spot removal spell, especially for those on a budget.

Lol, anyone else feel like they're ripping off hearthstone with the new legendary border design? I mean fair's fair, hearthstone ripped off their whole game, but still.
Kinda shocked FS+SS are BAB only. That'll be annoying to get on the secondary market. Plus it's foil only, oy vey.
Plus whatever brawl is, I guess we'll see. I guess I change decks frequently enough that building for a standard format is pretty reasonable, but I don't like the idea of fracturing the commander player base. Maybe if it's a tourney format it'll attract new blood rather than split the existing player base. Probably shouldn't speculate too much until the full announcement tomorrow.
