Edit: In other news, I realized that Kruphix, God of Horizons allows you to store mana from Primal Wellspring and thus get multiple copy triggers for a single spell. I don't think Primal Amulet is a great card, but I love the art/flavor and I'm a sucker for Forking. I'm going to at least try it out in my Kruphix deck.
Budget Cradle is a dream come true for me in Animar. In the deck it's pretty much a guaranteed card draw and flip. Sure it's a turn slower without flash and more prone to removal, but I don't really combo-out that much (and considering I've gotten by without relying on Cradle for my combos all these while), I'll take a 3-mana cradle that literally doesn't cost a card or a land drop any day at the cost of tempo (of spending mana, not the land drop of course) any day.
Usually I say the slowness of such a card (basically a "watered-down" version of a old powerful card) doesn't make the cut for the more competitive decks, but Cradle is so useful that you'll still play it without keeping it as a combo piece (or at least from what I see others playing) that even a slower version is worth the extra redundancy slot in most decks, especially from what I see Cradle never survives if it isn't outright used for a combo and yet people still "risk" it for general use, so I don't see why people won't want a slower version for redundancy reasons (and it's not even very redundant if they both are constant removal targets anyway).
I can say we all agree that flipcradle is great. In decks that want the effect(elves!!), can also support the effect. The only "drawback" is that it'll be harder to tutor in green, and also harder to recur(without splashing other colors, of course).
It's going straight into Yeva, Natures Herald for me. When it flips, even at EOT, I can still flash in Yeva with the board that's required. Then I just profit, similar to the OG Cradle.
Also, did this just push Captain Sisay up a little further on the $ scale? Geeze, first Planeswalker change, and now another fetchable Cradle? Geeze...

Paradox Engine already made Sisay an incredibly powerful deck once again - this adds quite a lot to that build, and I'm super stoked to try it out.
Good thing I haven't went out for the Invocation Austere Command yet (the original foil and the Invocation were almost the same price), now I can wait for the price-lowered one. Probably the same for Kokusho (mainly because I never got to see the FTV one anywhere).
Not sure where Cryptic is going to land with the new art, considering it has 2 MM printings and an Invocation (along with a MPR), but it's one boat I keep missing and keeps making return trips.
Then we get Mana Drain by Raymond Swanland. It's a Vampiric Tutor scenario all over again. At the very least, looking at Force of Will patterns and the current Drain Judge Foil pricing, I don't think it'll be that bad, right?
I think I'm going to compress my Ixalan Budget to "Get a foil Budget Cradle" and be done with it, gotta roll the budget over to all these solid reprints instead...
A lot of these cards fit the bill as only expensive because of casual/EDH appeal and relative scarcity. As long as you don't play the sealed product lottery, i think the damage to your wallet may be less than you expect.
Even Mana Drain should tank considerably. The only people who want it are us and Cubers (both only needing single copies) and the like one guy who still plays Vintage.

As an aside, Primal Wellspring would be far and away the most broken land ever as a normal land, trumping even Mishra's Workshop and Tolarian Academy.
Thank god it's only rare. I imagine it can't be that bad.
Lands aren't the most resilient of card types, but moreso than Planeswalkers, I'd say. It's also not color-restricted, which is a huge deal.
Even if it dies immediately, how far behind are you? It drew you a card and it doesn't set you back a land drop.
And if it survives, it's amazing.
