I'm not sure how I feel about Liliana, Death Wielder On the one hand,it's a two turn repeatable killer on the other hand it takes two turns to kill anything
Being a creature right from the start means she could equip/aura right from the start, something Purphy cannot. She'd make a decent voltron commander: dump a hand of equipment and aura then she could attack at will.
Amonkhet gods walk amongst people, and given the culture people's devotion to them are already over the roof, make sense they're always creature. I did wish they're enchantment though.
EDIT: Someone on mythicspoiler also suggested that Amonkhet gods demand sacrifice and tribute, therefore the condition on them are different from Theros but makes sense nonetheless.

Looks fun for a -1/-1 counter deck. Who wants to dust off their Skeleton Ships?

Didn't even think about...with that interaction then with wither..

She's from the PW deck, so she's going to be pretty poor overall (that 7cmc...); note her collector number, 275/269. There should be another Liliana card that's better.
Well Hazoret might be really good in other formats, but in my opinion, it doesn't cut it in EDH.
I 100% agree. Red already has troubles with card advantage and promoting a strategy that requires you to keep your hand virtually empty is going to result in a lot of #feelsbad when your commander gets dealt with. That and he gets chumped for days. I think it may have been an interesting design if his ability was Pyroclasm instead of Purphoros.
Now for some other format where a red deck whats to drop its load asap, this card looks fantastic.

I know exactly how I feel about Liliana, Death Wielder. I wouldn't even bother sleeving it. Hell, I'd probably find the nearest player that thought it was cool and just give it to him/her. I mean, if for whatever reason I end up with this deck, I would just send you my copy.
Alright: Aven Mindcensor: This will be just as good as other printings of it. If I get one, I might fit it into Karador, who is getting a bit of a hatebear subtheme. Hazoret the Fervent: I like this as a curve topper in mono red and the fact that all the burn spells have mandess helps... oh wait... this isn't standard. I want to like these gods and I hope the rest are better. Prowling Serpopard: I love the creature type. Other than that, this card has obvious uses for obvious reasons. I hope we get some good counter magic to warrant this. Archfiend of Ifnir: If ever there was motivation for Astral Slide in this format, this is it. Excited for cycling to make a return. Glorybringer: Great name. Unexciting in this format unless you need a critical mass of dragons. Liliana, Death Wielder: Aside from the niche mentioned earlier, this seems bad.

Split cards will now have a CMC equal to their combined value unless they are on the stack. Not sure how much it impacts you guys. I haven't really gotten around to playing with the Expertises yet.

That is an interesting rules change that Im not sure why they didnt address in Ravnica or Time Spiral block when they reintroduced split cards. Im glad I never opted to place any into Yidris, though come to think of it, I cant recall seeing anyone ever play a split card in an EDH game.
As for the new Liliana, If I am going to be playing a 7 cmc mythic, it needs to have more impact than giving a lone creature a -1/-1 counter. And for two more mana at the same rarity, I can have creatures from all graveyards return to the battlefield under my control without having to wait four telegraphed turns to do it.

Right, but like others have said, this is a dual deck version. The pre-built decks deliberately have bad planeswalkers, the constructed worthy version of her for either Armonkhet or Hour of Devastation hasn't been spoiled yet.
So apparently the other god cards also have stipulations on them doing anything like Hazaret does. What do we think they might be? For green im expecting some kind of Ferocious or you need total power 8+ for it to attack/ block and black will care about creatures in the GY. Struggling with the others though.

EDH BRGKresh the BloodbraidedBRG, A box of lands and ideas.
Modern: RG Titanshift. A deck made of cards too stupid for EDH.
Retired: Lots. More than I feel you should suffer through or I should type out.
So Sacred Cat is a strict upgrade to Trained Caracal for Karlov decks, making for a 9th 1-drop for the deck. I love it when random niche-y decks like that get toys.

I'm not sure Sacred Cat is good enough for my Karlov deck (I don't run Trained Caracal, either), but I might play it just because I love the Egyptian flavor. C'mon, it's one of those mummified cats you see in museums! As a Magic card! In what reality is that not cool? Plus it can potentially trigger various Soul Sisters twice, which doesn't suck.

Yea the version I ran used every available soul sister + 1-drop-with-lifelink I could get my hands on to ensure T2 Karlov would be a 4/4 at least. I stopped running the deck a while ago but if I were to rebuild it, this kitty would've been a slam dunk.

I have a feeling Black's is going to be morbid along with a sac outlet.
The "mechanics of" article for Amonkhet makes no mention of Morbid, so it doesn't appear we will be seeing it return quite yet. Which is unfortunate. I am very fond of Morbid.
The effect is to small on soldier/spirit/bird tokens. He is fun with Dark Depths and other large tokens though. Embalm helps getting around the commander tax once or twice. And he can target his own mummie.

Seems super meh to me. I guess if you can make really big tokens this is kinda useful but white and blue don't have a ton of ways to make super big tokens, which leaves Voltron. He has the cost for it, but he can only make himself unblockable if he's a token, so he has to die for that, and then be recast for five mana... seems like so much work when Sygg, River Guide exists for the same PT/Cost ratio.

The first thing I thought of was Mimic Vat. Maybe one of the 99 in a Bant token/populate deck with Séance, Cackling Counterpart, Spitting Image and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice. But that sounds a bit too janky.
