I think it's nice that some non-narrow cards to counter abilities exist now (summary dismissal and disallow.) I think it will be interesting to sometimes have to play around these when activating or triggering important abilities, and it's probably good for there to be reasonable answers to stuff like eldrazi on-cast triggers.
Like yeah voidslime and trickbind/stifle/bind stuff has always existed, but the 2 new ones aren't so painfully narrow, and are monocolored so they will show up a lot more than voidslime.
I'm sure some folks out there passionately who hate the concept of blue and counterspells on a fundamental level will disagree

Is it just me or does dark intimations make it seem as if the other intro deck will be nicol bolas? Although even with the old nicol bolas it seems pretty solid.
The other intro deck PW is Ajani. Dark Intimations is a plant for Amonkhet where he WILL appear.
Yeah, just like Eldrazi Monument hinting at the existence of Eldrazi in Zendikar and Eye of Ugin caring about a creature type that hadn't been printed yet in Worldwake, Dark Intimations is setting up for a card that won't be available in the same set.

Which is super weird, right? Like, this card would make sense in Amonkhet, but if Bolas doesn't show up in Kaladesh, it's HUGELY unintuitive.

Not really. It's been done before, the only difference is that right now the block structure is different. But we already had something similar done in Worldwake (Which was a winter set) giving a discount to cards that only existed in the following spring set (Rise of the Eldrazi) in Eye of Ugin. It stands to reason that the same thing happens here, just, different block structure. Also, unlike Eye of Ugin at the time of Worldwake, this card already does things with its second mode given the existence of the Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker card.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
Oath of Ajani disappoints me primarily because it seems to be an indicator that essentially every not-completely evil plansewalker introduced going forwards is going to join the Gatewatch. And that's just bad storytelling.

Tamiyo and presumably Saheeli seem to disagree. Technically there's also Ral Zarek who knows more than he lets on.

Thus far, the members of Gatewatch appear to have very strong motivations to make changes, mostly due to their Origin stories (and Liliana wants to use said motivations, driven by her own desire), which means ones who're more passive such as Saheeli, Narset, Tamiyo, and Ral Zarek would observe before they act.
Dack Fayden travels multiverse for his own selfish reasons, he is not evil, but more on the selfish side.
Arlinn Kord, Daretti, and Dovi Baan aim to satisfy themselves on their home planes.
Karn and Ugin have bigger scope, would not become part of a bunch of newbies (Karn: Uh, how do you hope to compete with the Weatherlight crew?).
Kiora is a question mark, she is proud like Liliana but also easier to break, she might seek shelter within the Gatewatch but never truly become entwined.
Sarkhan is probably looking for another dragon ass to kiss. If Ugin somehow become part of Gatewatch, he might join to worship him.
if he is, I hope he slaps some sense into the Fab Five for ignoring the threat of Phyrexia.
To be fair, Phyrexians and Eldrazi are both pretty serious, but you're right about them doing something about it, than waiting on Ravnica for assignments.

Ajani isn't exactly a one-off minor character planeswalker, though. He was one of the OG Llorwyn five and appears quite a lot. I agree I don't really need to see a Justice League of Planeswalkers showing up every single set/block, but I don't think Ajani joining is any indication that there will be a landslide of planeswalkers into the Gatewatch.

My theory is that the next time we see the Phyrexians will be just after a return to Theros. Elsbeth is revived/escapes from the underworld and joins the Gatewatch. The block after, we finally get the payoff confrontation from her origin story.
EDIT: Not moments after posting, I realize that Elspeth was, in fact, in the Scars of Mirrodin block and that I spelled her name incorrectly. I didn't play at that time though, and am unfamiliar with her involvement in that story.

There's a lot of merfolk legends, with a huge variety of playstyles:
Beating Face with Bane
Beatrice, the Golden Witch

I really dislike oblivion ring variants in edh, though. Too easy for the opponent to get their stuff back.
