The problem with Resurgent is unless you are waiting to play it you won't have anything to do the turn you cast it, I guess you could Rector for it in a GW deck.
Although I see this card being played, Zendikar Resurgent is to high on the mana curve. Even in least competitive format, the seven CMC slot is designated for win conditions. Mana Reflection competes with many other 6 CMC cards such as Sun Titan, etc, but it allows for infinite mana; still, this card leaps the player to win conditions. Mirari's Wake is nice because it drops on turn five, provides a slight P/T buff to previously cast creatures and allows for 7+ mana for the win conditions. Obviously, removal is warranted for Zendikar Resurgent if one cannot win in a turn or two of it entering play. Counter magic will walk the player for a set up play, not a chance to win; yet, Zendikar Resurgent will see play because it is big and allows its controller to go even bigger.
If anything, I would rather play Boundless Realms for the same CMC because it will filter lands, better my draws and I will only need to worry about counter magic.
That's exactly where it's going for me! Deck's entire purpose is big mana to keep casting creatures over and over again for landfall and "creaturefall" shenanigans. This card does exactly what I want and will replace Mirari's Wake so I can use my copy somewhere else.
One of my favorite cards in mono-white is Mana Tithe, not because it's good in a vacuum (it's okay, but not great), but because nobody thinks of leaving W open as representing a counterspell. I can sort of imagine Warping Wail playing a similar role. Someone scanning the table to see if it's a safe time to play a large sorcery can easily scan over, say, a mountain and a Homeward Path or something and assume that Tooth and Nail or Austere Command or a game-winning Exsanguinate will resolve.
That may be too cute, and not enough reason to actually play Warping Wail, but I think there's some extra value in instants with effects that people don't think of particular mana combinations as representing.
I'll definitely be playing zendikar resurgent over my copy of mana reflection. It's an additional creature based draw condition and still affects my mana. Since the deck is all about creatures and enchantments, it's a perfect fit.
If people are sick of reading about stuff just stop taking part. You have 100% control over what you read. Simic Ascendancy isn't going to get banned just because you didn't tell someone to shut up on the internet.
Zendikar Resurgent looks like a decent card for low-powered metas where you can expect to get enough mana to drop it and a creature in the same turn, or where you can tap out to play it and have a reasonable chance to be able to untap with it still in play.
I'm personally going to add it to my "mana-doubler.dec" project, as the deck could never have too few doublers.
Definitely not denying Zendikar Resurgent's power, but I'm not running it. Freyalise runs no creature cards, so Mana Reflection would be more cost-effective, Animar will probably run a mile faster with Soul of the Harvest and Primordial Sage anyway (and dominate/win before it needs mana doubling anyway), Karador might actually be able to use it, but I think I'll get outright annihilated considering I already run a bunch of enchantmentsworthhating and I don't think Horde can afford the space (It has a landfall theme, so Boundless Realms is better anyway.)
No guarantees though, I might eventually run it, but I at the moment, I'm not rushing to do it.
Make a stand is the new mass-indestructible for creatures. Looks good for decks that can't run boros charm. Slip through Space is a devoid Shadow Rift. Now I can shadow rift my guys without removing SOFI. Essence Depleter is another mana sink for black decks, assuming no fixes come in for colorless mana in rule 4. Kazzul's Toll Collector seems pretty fun for a Godo deck. Free argentum armor equips is nice. Natural State looks like a good 1cmc artifact/ench removal Seed Guardian will be nice for Trostani type decks. Captain's Claws is a very cheap equipment to continue a swarm of tokens.
Several good cards. Seed Guardian is great for graveyard shenanigans and is one of the more obvious combo card. I would like to see if these +1/+1 cards can support my Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper deck further.
I'm gonna get a couple copies each Spatial Contortion and Warping Wail. Colorless removal, ramp, and countermagic sound interesting to test.
I'm probably going to get a copy each of Call the Gatewatch, Oath of Gideon, Oath of Chandra, andOath of Nissa in case I ever truly want to build a superfriends deck. I hope they continue with the Oath of ___ cards, they're fairly cool. Linvala, the Preserver but just for my angel collection. Is she the only angel in the set? Looks like it.
I may get Should to Shoulder because it is 2W Draw a card. Slip through Space is good, gonna get a couple of those. Crush of Tentacles seems like a perfect flavor fit for my Zegana deck. Chandra, Flamecaller seems decent. Pyromancer's Assault also seems decent. Bonds of Mortality anti-voltron is always good to have. Seed Guardian could be fun in Meren, may try that out.
I guess I'll get a copy each of Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim and Jori En, Ruin Diver in case I ever want to build an Eldrazi deck and a counter-burn/tempo list for French.
What do you all think of Hissing Quagmire for Meren?
I suppose I probably should get a copy of Mirrorpool in case it ends up costing like, Dark Depths prices or something.
What Wastes art do y'all prefer? I'm going for the Ulamog ashy skeletal ones personally.
Kind of a mix between new card discussion and an actual buy list for me.
Natural State is 1 mana removal, so that's legit. And Captain's Claws looks pretty strong as long as you're already wider than your opponents.
Put me down for a Mirrorpool as well.
And I think I'm going to build Mina and Denn, so I'll need a copy of that and probably a Zendikar Resurgent to go into it along side the Mana Flare brigade.

Zedruu: "This deck is not only able to go crazy - it also needs to do so."
Overall, I am really happy with this set for two reasons. First, the 3 creature lands finish that 10-card cycle and the 2 legends look like good generals for the Cube AND solid cards in the deck. They aren't amazing, but good enough to make the cut. Second, the set as a whole looks terrible with a few glimmers here and there, but seriously some terrible cards. That's good because I'm walking away with 6 solid cards in a format where it's hard to impress for about $15.
I may get Kozilek and the Walkers later just because I like to have all of those on hand, but I feel no pressure at all.
So looking at Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim has me wondering; what does a Cleric deck do? Wizards counter, Vampires/Merfolk/Zombies/Goblins beatdown, Elves/Druids ramp huge, why would anyone want to play Clerics?
I'd imagine lifegain and damage prevention, but how do you win?

Oath of the Gatewatch; the set that caused the competitive community to freak out over Basic Lands.
Matter Reshaper is going to see play.
I don't like Zendikar Resurgent. Play Greater Good, or Elemental Bond for draw, and play Caged Sun or Mana Reflection for uber mana.
--- Meren of Clan Nel Toth --- Jhoira of the Ghitu --- Prime Speaker Zegana ---

Keep brewing.

Credit to DolZero for this awesome sig!
I will definitely play both in Maelstrom Wanderer.

I really want to slide Matter Reshaper into Karador, Ghost Chieftain. It's another value creature that can dig for a win-con when I go infinite. Satyr Wayfinder is also good at this. I'm worried about the colorless mana though. I may have to play painlands to make it work in the deck. High Market, Phyrexian Tower, Ashnod's Altar, Sol Ring, Grim Backwoods... That's all I got. Maybe I should slot in a Wastes to fetch with Solemn Simulacrum, Sakura-tribe Elder, etc.

I don't even need to try for mirrorpool, I need like 15 of those. That card is amazing.
Spatial Contortion and Warping Wail will probably get picked up in multiples as fun tech to toss into decks that typically don't have those effects.
Stone Haven Outfitter will get picked up, I tend to always have at least one voltron deck sitting around, and he joins the equipment value crowd.
Crush of Tentacles for when I re-do my pirate deck.
Sifter of Skulls is a second Pawn of Ulamog for all my decks that like that effect.
