Karametra, God of Harvest3GW Legendary Enchantment Creature - God
Indestructible
As long as your devotion to green and white is less than seven, Karametra isn't a creature.
Whenever you cast a creature spell, you may search your library for a Forest or Plains card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library.

All of your creatures are Farseek for Forest/Plains. This opens up a brand new archetype for Selesnya: big ramp and creatures. I'm excited to see how this turns out, as an effect like this is amazing for the colors. The article itself provided a lot of ways to make use of her effect to the fullest.
This is a great refreshment from the recent Selesnya general, Emmara. A legend that provides something new for the Selesnya line-up. I myself won't build a deck around her, but this is a shoe-in for my Hazezon deck.

Toshiro now has an additional answer to tokens! Hero's Downfall made way for a Planewalker killer, now this! I am pleased.
Unravel the Aether really irritates me as it tucks the Gods so effectively. If they're your general, your opponents now have an answer that is so much more one sided than Chaos Warp or Oblation. I suppose it's balanced out by the fact that they're indestructible generals, but it never feels good to see your flagship card tucked.

Kinda butt hurt that karametra isn't the enchantress general that a lot of people (including me) hoped for. If she had the ability raged into enchantments then she would be great but as is enchentress doesnt run enough creatures to make her explosive

Yeah, I was hoping for something that would play with enchantments and/or tokens for Rhys. I like her, but she doesn't fit my deck at all. C'est la vie.
So Karametra, God of Harvests looks absolutely batty. Interestingly the thing I most enjoyed about the gods so far is the way you can tutor for them using creature tutors, even through they aren't actually creatures, making them really hard to kill. Karametra's ability, strong as it is, actually encourages players to activate her devotion making her vulnerable to path and swords.

Well Chorus of the Conclave did do that before, but Karametra is better at it. I like her. I'm not sure she'll fit in my Saffi deck, but she's very simple and nice. Notice that she only triggers on a cast, not etb. She's still abusable, just not dumb herp derp abusable.
All of the gods so far are simple and lead to multiple strategies, which I like. I like that you aren't forced to play one way with them.
I really like God Xenagos, but I am not sure that I really have a deck for him.
He'd be fine in Animar, Intet, and Maelstrom Wanderer, though. Maelstrom Wanderer might get a hit with him, I suppose. The other two can do quite well without though.
In Prossh, he's not bad, but I am not sure that he is good enough to make the deck in the end. In Vaevictis Asmadi, he could be a house, so I think I need at least two. I don't really intend to overlap with this card much, especially since I am concerned about what standard will do to its price.
As for Karamtera, I have two potential decks for her. Derevi, however, is Wizard tribal at its core, so I doubt that Karametra will make the cut there at this time. Maybe Solemn Simulacrum could go for her, though...She also merits a spot in Teneb, where again I might drop a ramp creature for her. Wood Elves, Farhaven Elf, or Solemn Simulacrum, that is the question...Then again, perhaps Explosive Vegetation is the card to choose to drop to keep the creature count up. Hm...
Can someone please tell me WHY Karametra will be a game changer as a general?
So many people are saying that it's the next best thing, but all it really does is make you puke out all the lands as you play creatures. So either your deck is G/W with basically no ramp, a manadorks.dec, or a really hopeful goodstuff.dec.
It gives you lands when you play creatures, making everything a Farhaven Elf. I guess I'm packing a lot more Torpor Orb now.

Torpor Orb wont do anything here; It's a Cast trigger. Regardless of whether the creature is countered or not, you're up a Basic Forest or Plains, or any land that has either of those types. And you can land her pretty darn quickly in the right deck. It wont ramp nearly as fast as Azusa, but it opens up a ton more possibilities.
Wouldn't stop her from triggering. She triggers from casting creatures, not entering the battlefield.
I like her because she gives so much momentum. When every creature you cast turns into a ramp spell, the amount of raw resources at your disposal can grow out of hand very quickly. And, as a god, she's very resilient as well.
Also, I've recently been looking for a good GW mana-ramp general and was disappointed that Chorus of the Conclave was the best I could find that's on-theme. Now the goddess comes to save the day.

She's good for the same reasons that Azusa is good. She lets you ramp into big threats, but she has the added bonus of white for much better removal.
The difference being Azusa costs 3 and the lands come in untapped - making her much more abuseable. Karametra is too fair.
True, but Karametra doesn't need to have half of her deck be land in order to function, and she has white's removal. Keep in mind that even when she's a creature, she still survives wraths. Azusa tends to stall out if you keep her off the board with removal before they have a chance to ramp enough to recast her a billion times.
Removal doesn't stop the 2 extra lands from being played. Karametra is a few turns slower than Azusa. The deck construction around her would probably require 35-40 creatures, with lots of acceleration to get Karametra out as soon as possible. Some disruption and removal, bunch of tutors into a Craterhoof finish. Instead of filling the list up with lands, we put in creatures.
I know it doesn't stop the lands, but they still have to waste 5 mana recasting her instead of dropping a stupid 6 drop or something that allows them to grab more lands. Hitting her with removal slows her down after that, unless they kept a hand with like 7 forests or something. Eventually Azusa needs to spend mana on card draw or draw filtering to keep going, Karametra doesn't.
I think Karametra will be much more versatile. She might not win a direct ramp off with Azusa decks, but she'll be much better equipped to take on a table of opponents trying to shut her down.

I have bad news for you: it's been done before.
Now I've gotta stay up all night making a Karametra deck.

o.O I stand corrected.
Karametra is my girl, though.

Doesn't work, Torpor Orb prevents ETB triggers, her abilities trigger upon casting.

The newly spoiled Unravel the Æther may help too as would Brutalizer Exarch (when it is not a creature yet).
