I like bestow quite a bit, though. I mean, there have to be some that are reasonably costed. How does Elderwood Scion's third ability interact with bestow?

Why did they not just use chroma? I see no reworking involved in this...
Anyways, all the costs are too high on these things. Bestow is an interenting take on the Elephant Guide style of auras, with benefit that it can simply be a creature when you cast it, that way you have something to enchant.
Given the current example though, insanely expensive to cast...
And this girl...
Darn it Wizards... <sigh> Why "You control?" Are we that anti land-hate?
There's no way to build this girl that Khamahl and Jolrael don't do 3 million times better.
I know not all legendaries have to be Commander fodder, but at least give it a chance to be a little interesting, even if it's for another crowd...
They're all intro pack rares. The abilities are interesting. I wonder why only the green intro deck has a legendary creature on the cover. I wonder how good she would be as a general. I really like the enchantment creature or the idea of it. It's another idea to reduce the disadvantage of auras. The black one could be good in a mono black token deck. The blue one will be fun to get in draft, but not in edh. The red one is interesting. I think it could be playable in edh. I'm curious to see what they'll do with these abilities and the rest of the set. I'm really curious who that guy that looks like Koth is.
Yeah, I wasn't impressed with any of those new cards.
Devotion (new Chroma) looks potentially interesting, though.
Instead of 5 then 7 for a bomby effect it needs to be smaller to be worth playing... like 1/3 for 3/3 Trample. If it's big stuff it's just not going to be worth playing as an Aura.
I want to like the Kraken, as giant sea creatures are fun, but the lack of evasion really hurts when comparing it to cards like Stormtide Leviathan and it's new friend Colossal Whale. Exiling a creature is usually more powerful than tapping it down, and probably easier to get combat damage with the whale than pay for that huge Monstrosity cost.
Celestial Archon looks AWESOME for Uril. If he gets tucked, you have a 4/4 flying first strike to throw all your other auras on. If he doesn't get tucked, you have an 11/11 flying first strike Uril.
Rules clarification from Matt Tabak: If the target for a Bestow card in Aura mode is removed while it's on the stack, the spell will still resolve as a creature instead. So there's no two-for-one with instant removal. Hooray!

That's what originally made me think they were going to be equipment. I was reading the Planeswalker's Guide to Theros thing on the mothership and I was like wouldn't it make sense for the gods and their weapons to go together and have a special effect? Especially after WotC just made cards-that-reference-other-cards-by-name in Bogbrew Witch, Festering Newt, and Bubbling Cauldron M14?
But alas, it seems my hopes were dashed. I do like the idea of fetching a god-creature with Enduring Ideal, though.
Just because the cards don't explicitly refer to the god cards in the rules text doesn't mean that they aren't designed to work together. If you look at the core set's Planeswalker signature spells, the uncommon and rare ones usually have direct and fairly tight synergy with the planeswalkers themselves, and the common ones synergize with the uncommon and rare ones. While it's possible that the Bident is just a random colored artifact with no mechanical connection to Thassa, it seems not unlikely that Thassa rewards you for drawing cards, rewards you for getting attacked and/or at least grants evasion.
It doesn't seem unlikely that there'll be a cycle of cards referencing the gods specifically by name in their rules text, but it'll probably be a common or uncommon cycle to drastically up the chance that it'll ever matter in limited.

So if my Bestow card is an aura, and they destroy my creature, my aura will turn into a creature and still remain in the battlefield?

I just wonder why bestow cost is bigger then creature CMC? You need another creature to enchant so it limits it's usefulness and even if you could cheat it into play as a creature by saccing the enchanted one it's still 2 for 1 deal. If bestow will continue to cost more it will be totally unplayable, even for Uril or Sigarda (the only ones that matter for auras).
Because you get the enchant and then a creature if the creature it is enchanting is killed. So instead of getting 2 for 1ed for using an enchant you actually get a 2 for 1.
I like having a creature that starts as an aura and then has the potential to turn into a creature. I love auras as a card type, but they are so damn fragile most of the time, this is a pretty interesting solution to that problem.
Why must monstrosity cost sooooo much? I really, really like the idea of it.
Anyways, bestow is the tits, can't way to see some goodies with that.
Devotion = chroma, so nothing new there. Nice to see it come back though, that's pretty cool.

Devotion to black is pretty nice. With all of the better black permanents costing tons of black. So it would make sense to just play this card. Having Necropotence and Gravepact in play would net you 8 tokens.

Part of me wants the kraken for zegana, part of me realizes that it's kinda janky. it's good lockdown, but it's still janky

That land destruction thing is cool but not good.
Oh well, it's still early guys!
